Having them was the worst decision I made. Here are the reasons why: - My lawn never had weeds before and now after a month or so it is out it control - the lawn looks worst than how it used to be - Did NOT do what was being told to me over phone. I was told lots of nice things but then when they actually did the job they said not needed, not now, next time etc and skipped lots of things - DISHONEST Agreed on one price but charged me more than I was being told over the phone. This was deal breaker for me. Later these guys and the main guy kept me on my toes since their guys won't leave without that extra money and their boss was only available on phone. Nothing good happened to my lawn even after paying $200+. Worst decision ever to call them. I would save your time and money by doing a DIY where you know what you are doing. Wish I would have believed in their bad reviews but went with some positive responses on Yelp. I'm sure that those are their paid reviews. And have seen the owner responding to reviews to look legit or make the reviewer seem dishonest or their problem but what do you say to something where you destroyed my lawn and the weeds is now out of control. read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother (Ann Eberle) whom is legally blind. Her lawn has suffered for years, despite, having a full time gardener, for 20+ years. As her gardener has aged, so have his skills. She admired the neighbors lawn and went over and spoke with the "crew" that was working there. She met the owner, Bart, and was impressed that he was overseeing the job site. Upon exchanging numbers, he came over and gave my mom an assessment/estimate of work/cost. Nailing down someone to come by our house to provide an estimate for work was surprisingly difficult. Tons of calls, texts, and emails, and Bart was the only one to follow through! We were moving out of a rental house and wanted to make sure everything was proper so we got our deposit back (and let's face it - three girls taking care of landscaping? it wasn't a pretty picture). Bart came out, provided an estimate, and had the guys out to take care of it - even during Easter weekend - to meet our schedule. When he was done, the landscaping looked better than it ever had even when we first moved in. The cost was reasonable, workers friendly and clearly good at what they do, and Bart was very responsive. Not impressed with this company. I called Knecht One for the primary purpose of fixing some sprinkler heads and they ended up aerating my lawn and upselling me which was fine because I needed it. But after asking around my neighbors I found out Bart ended up charging me twice as much. Bart also quoted me initially $100 to fix the sprinkler heads but then mentioned he was going to add $50 for another broken sprinkler. it took him over 3 weeks to finally come and get the job done and then when I got the invoice it was $300. Not cool. Sorry. But I cannot recommend Barton and his services. read more

Had him come back a 2nd time he broke a sprinkler before we went out of town. By the time we came back 1/2 lawn is dead. Said he would re-seed lawn but now refuses to and left me seed to do my self. Very unprofessional! Now lawn is dead and has weeds. read more

Bart has been nothing but helpful, attentive, and HONEST! We just moved into our first home and needed to clean up our jungle of a backyard. I gave Knetcht One a call, and Bart promptly sent his crew over for an inspection. I kid you not, our yard looked like the set of Jumanji. Weeds had grown taller than myself! His workers just now completed the job and I couldn't be more satisfied. I was connected to Knecht through our landscaper. When we first spoke, they told me they were backed up for a few weeks which is understandable. After a few weeks and check-ins, I asked if I should work with another company as it seems they were too busy. Bart assured me that we were close and that we would have a "crew" to come out and complete the job quickly. Finally, we were scheduled for after the 4th of July. However, I called on the 2nd and we pushed to next week. Then, on the following Tuesday, one person showed up and that was the crew. Fine, at least we would get going. We walked around to scope the job again and he was going to return the next day to start. Wednesday - no show and no call. I called Bart and no return call Thursday - no show and no call. So I notified Bart that I was canceling the job and that's when I told there was a family emergency...etc. So my advice is if you are waiting on Knecht, I would also get bids from other companies. read more

Bart and his crew are amazing lawn specialists. They brought my lawn back to life in no time. We had a lot of dead spots, weeds, dandelions. Within 6 weeks after their first treatment my lawn looked like new. I called Bart at 7am one morning after the Raccoons had dug up our lawn again in search of grubs. Incredible service and work from a wonderful crew! Timely, affordable and saved us a lot of money. Our old damaged sprinkler system needed much work. Bart and his team of experienced, friendly staff had it up and running in a day. They fixed leaks, the timer and replaced valves on a system I didn't believe could be saved. Dan worked miracles with a cluster of wires to the timer, Tony was personable and helpful and Bart responded quickly with a great estimate. The job came in under budget in the pouring rain! We have been so pleased since we started using Barton and Knetcht One. He is so polite, appreciative, and hardworking. Our lawn is the best on the street and it is because of him. He aerates and fertilizes. He even switched to organic fertilizers because that's what I really wanted. Barton also fixes sprinklers and lets us know if there are any issues. That way, a small problem does not become a big one. It's so nice that he keeps track of when we need to fertilize and such. He even tries to work around the gardener's schedule. I hired Bart to install sod & upgrade my existing backyard irrigation (sprinklers) after I had my new paver patio installed a few months ago. Part of the paver installation included running the existing sprinkler PVC pipes under the new patio to be ready for lawn. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I started calling landscape companies to get bids on my backyard sod and upgrading my existing irrigation. Every conversation I had, except for with Bart, was that they would have to redo my entire system, because of liability they would not touch what was already in place that I had paid $7000 for. Being a novice, I thanked them for their advice and moved on. When I called Bart he assured me he could work with what I have & make it better and be the best work & lowest cost. I was skeptical but I said okay. They started one week ago today in a triple-digit heat wave, & let me just say, that I am impressed! My backyard looks incredible & all of my irrigation is top-notch. Not only was the work good, Bart followed up, asked for my feedback & stressed that his goal was to make sure I was happy & stay on budget. Beware of his tactics! We used him a couple of times in the past few years, and he did a fair job at best. My husband never liked the mess he left. He rushed the lawn aeration and would leave dirt clogs and aerator machine marks on patio and walkways. He came by a few weeks ago when we were not home and did lawn aeration without our knowledge and authorization and now wants to be paid. I relayed to BART about the mess he left and not talking to us before coming onto our property. He did lawn aeration for us a year ago and assumed we wanted it done again this year. We have had another professional full service yard care for over six months now. We did not need BART to do lawn aeration on our lawn. BEWARE and warned of him and his tactics and service! I still can't believe he wants to be paid on a job that was not authorized or needed! In my book, he was trespassing on our property. read more

After the recent drought took it's toll on my back lawn, I gave up on it and let it completely die off. With the winter rains, it came back as a field of weeds. After trying in vain to get a couple of other contractors to return my phone calls, I came across Knecht One. What a great experience! Bart returned my first call and promised to have someone stop by and look at the lawn to give me some options. Carlos came out the next day, measured the lawn and inspected the sprinklers, then gave the information to Bart. The next day Bart called back with his recommendations and price, and the work was scheduled to be done the following week. Right on schedule, the old sod was removed, the soil prepared, new sod and sprinklers were installed beautifully. During the process Bart called several times to see if I had any questions or issues. When the job was done, the site was thoroughly cleaned and my new lawn looks great. Bart has put me on his maintenance schedule to take care of my lawn for future needs.
