Kneaders is a Utah classic-a nice combination of bakery and your grandma's kitchen: you'll find any comfort food or dessert your heart desires here. Each one is laid out the same-you walk in and immediately see shelves full of baked goods on one side, then a case of cakes, cookies and other pastries on the other side. Order at the counter, take your food to a table and enjoy. We visited at night, and it was hard to tell if it was open or not-there were no lights on outside and the sign was dark. Once we pulled into the parking lot, we saw the "open" sign, but it was barely visible from the road. I'm glad we pulled in-I was able to satisfy my cookie craving.

All you can eat French toast with my love

The French toast is AMAZING! Oh my goodness...I don't know how people do AYCE with them. I just don't. As you can see from my photo, the serving is HUGE! They definitely know how to keep you from being hungry in Utah. My man and I were determined to at least get one more serving, but the toast defeated us. They were THICK slices of their homemade cinnamon bread and served with fresh whipped cream, cut strawberries, and a special syrup. The syrup was nutty and buttery. For $6.99/person, I would come back for this for sure! You can either just get one plate, or if you're ambitious try AYCE! They even have sourdough pancakes that are also AYCE! I think we're going to try that next time.

The "free" slice of pie that I spent my points on.

Poor customer service and the food is subpar compared to the other Kneaders locations I have visited. Very disappointing that management has failed to make the necessary changes to make this a desirable location.

Very thin croissant. My own chicken salad was very thin and not flaky, very little filling

Understaffed, stood in line 30 minutes. Out of cranberry sauce and no carbonation for any sodas. I gave it a 1 star only because I did get fed.

I may be better heard with the ears in a cornfield. I repressed a simple order five times. A croissant, avocado, turkey, provolone, and Kneaders sauce. "What?!" Repeat. "Oh so the turkey bacon sandwich!?" Repeat. "I'm sorry so just everything but bacon?" Repeat even slower. "Okay, got it. Anything else?" "Yes. A regular turkey croissant sandwich." Literally 15 minutes sitting at the window. Arrive home. Lucky me. I got the same sandwich as my 10 year old that I had to repeat five times.

First of all we had our two kids with us and they immediately brought out a plate of apples for them to start snacking on. Very thoughtful and helpful. It kept them busy until we ordered and appetizers were brought out. I ordered the biscuits, the brussels sprouts, and the chicken confit. I couldn't eat the biscuits but my husband and kids devoured them. They looked incredible. I will be dreaming about the brussels sprouts until I return. My husband and I both agreed they were the best we've ever had. The chicken was great too- would have preferred white meat and additional sauce but still good. We loved our meal and look forward to making this place a regular when in town!

I had the beet salad with poached pear. It was really delicious and was a great combination on the taste buds. Then I had the confit chicken (boned in). It had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The slaw was also good. If you go to WAR, you must get the biscuits. They will complement almost any meal. Also, my drink was the WAR Tan. I've had it before and it was delicious again!

There are places you go... and then there are places that feel like you've finally come home…read more The Painted Pony is the latter. We adore slipping away for lunch and settling onto the patio, where the world softens--shade drapes gently overhead, birds sing as if they've been hired just for the occasion, and time... well, time slows down enough to breathe. The service is nothing short of immaculate--attentive in that quiet, effortless way that makes you feel seen without ever being interrupted. And the food... oh, the food. The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. The tuna melt was so transcendent I found myself wondering if I had ever truly tasted tuna before... or if I had just been living a lesser version of the experience all along. And the beef bourguignon... my heavens. It was as if your grandmother--if she were also a five-star chef--had been waiting for you, simmering something rich and soulful to welcome you back after a long journey. Even the tea felt royal... and the mocktails were so delightful, so thoughtfully made, that not once did we miss the alcohol. The Painted Pony isn't just a meal... it's a return.

The Painted Pony in St. George, UT - A Cozy Gem with One Miss (Pass on the Crab Cakes)…read moreIf you're looking for a solid upscale dinner spot in downtown St. George, The Painted Pony in Ancestor Square is a strong choice. Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.

My husband ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and I ordered the Garlic Chicken & broccoli. We shared an order of Rangoons. If I'm being perfectly honest the food was just ok IMO. I purposely ordered my dish with no sauce bc I don't care for my food to be swim in a sodium, sugar & oil mixture masking whatever flavor the protein & veggies present on their own. I actually WANT to taste them. I didn't expect my mind to be blown by my dish for that reason. I knew what I was getting & honestly my food was very good. The chicken breast was good quality, cooked nicely and cut into small bite sized pieces as was the broccoli. Just what I wanted. Now I DID want to splurge a bit which is why we got the fried stuff too. Now for the not so impressive part. The stuff that was supposed to blow my mind bc it was fried, came with sauce and lots of spice just fell flat. The Rangoons had very little flavor. They were even slightly under cooked it seemed. The corners were the only part that were crispy and the part closest to the middle was barely cooked. Not my fav. I like a very crispy rangoon. Maybe that's just my preference. I sampled my husband's pad Thai, also a bust. Hardly an spice or flavor. He ordered a 3 out of 5 and there was hardly any heat. Maybe my Vegas taste buds have been spoiled or maybe this is a different style of the Thai we're not used to. At any rate I'm only giving it 3 out of 5 stars based on the food itself. The restaurant was in an interesting looking built stone building & plaza and the interior was decorated with a pretty traditional Asian-Thai theme. This place was packed on a Sat night too! The locals must love it. There was a line of people waiting to be seated when we arrived. There are no complaints about the service. We called our order in for pick up. The man who took out order was polite and I believe he was the same host who was greeting people at the door. He was very busy but still gave great service with a smile. Again, this review is not a reflection of him. He was great. The food....just wasn't.
