Maybe it's just this location. The service is always so slow. There was no one else in line at the drive through, and it was still so slow--for a cold sandwich. How long does that take? This time, the focaccia bread was so stale it was inedible. It should have been thrown out, not made into a sandwich. Kneaders thing is bread, I thought. Kneaders is a Utah classic-a nice combination of bakery and your grandma's kitchen: you'll find any comfort food or dessert your heart desires here. Each one is laid out the same-you walk in and immediately see shelves full of baked goods on one side, then a case of cakes, cookies and other pastries on the other side. Order at the counter, take your food to a table and enjoy. We visited at night, and it was hard to tell if it was open or not-there were no lights on outside and the sign was dark. Once we pulled into the parking lot, we saw the "open" sign, but it was barely visible from the road. I'm glad we pulled in-I was able to satisfy my cookie craving. read more

The breakfasts are incredible. We have the croissant breakfast sandwiches. One with egg, cheese, and ham the other with egg, cheese and sausage! When we are in the area, we eat breakfast at Kneaders 6 days per week. The 7th day, they rest. So we have to go for a lower option. We have been coming to Kneaders 6 days per week for 8 years going to the southwest annually. So fantastic. And great bakery items! Love their cookies! And the highlight is an associate named Spencer! He remembers our likely choices and is so friendly. The other associates are excellent, but Spencer stands out because he is the star! Cannot recommend Kneaders on bluff in St. George any higher. They let down, given the way they appear and they're overall image. One of us had a fruit tart and the cream filling tasted like sugary frosting. We also ordered two cookies from their bakery display and they both tasted as if they were getting old. The peanut butter cookie barely tasted like peanut butter. The French toast is AMAZING! Oh my goodness...I don't know how people do AYCE with them. I just don't. As you can see from my photo, the serving is HUGE! They definitely know how to keep you from being hungry in Utah. My man and I were determined to at least get one more serving, but the toast defeated us. They were THICK slices of their homemade cinnamon bread and served with fresh whipped cream, cut strawberries, and a special syrup. The syrup was nutty and buttery. For $6.99/person, I would come back for this for sure! You can either just get one plate, or if you're ambitious try AYCE! They even have sourdough pancakes that are also AYCE! I ordered drip coffee and had a cup, I noticed that the lid was not staying on, I tried multiple lids, and none of them would stay on. I was told that I didn't put it on right. The employee put his hands all over the cup and told me that's how it will stay on. I told him it probably won't stay on, and he told me it would. I picked up the cup and the hot coffee went all over my hand. There was no apology and all he did was replace the lid with a soda top with a straw. A woman named Jessica E who took my order in the drive thru was incredibly rude and curt when I made my order which I clearly stated that I wanted a soup bowl, she asked what kind of bread bowl I wanted I told her sourdough. THEN she scammed me by giving me a piece of stale dried up bread with my soup instead of the bread bowl. She and the other girl were laughing and I heard her saying something regarding me when she opened the window to hand me the bag, like she knew she was ripping me off and they thought it was funny. I'm thinking they were likely out of bread bowls (the bluff st location is always out of most things), so she threw in a slice of dried out old bread in place of the bowl and didn't tell me so I didn't know until I got home. I called the number on their site and a woman answers from her home (had a bunch of screaming kids in the background), she tells me to bring the receipt and drive back to Kneaders and they'd give me my bread bowl (no offer to compensate me for their mistake). It's about a 20 minute drive from my house, I didn't want to drive back there and waste gas when they couldn't even compensate me for deliberately not giving me what I'd ordered. I wish I would have read the reviews that warned not to go to this location ‍ I've learned my lesson, I'll never go there again. TERRIBLE service, long waits and awful food read more

This place stays pretty busy, so you can expect about a 10 min wait in the store or drive thru. The staff is always friendly & helpful. If you ask they will generally go above & beyond. Their pastries are almost as good as French inspired bakeries. The bread is where it's at if you're looking to try something there. read more

We may have just shown up on an off day, but the restaurant itself was not well maintained. Tables were dirty, the iced tea tasted like the container had not been cleaned for quite a while, soda station was sticky, all in all not a great experience as far as cleanliness and care for the surroundings When we attempted to order we were told they were sold out of several things, cranberry sauce, sourdough bread. We were not deterred we chose to order and eat anyways. The turkey artichoke is a decent sandwich, the turkey bacon avocado was much better, the potato bacon soup was just ok, I would definitely not order it again, however the broccoli cheddar soup was very good. The lemon velvet raspberry tart was wonderful the sugar cookie crust could be a little thinner to allow for easier cutting, but great flavor. The fruit tart was good, and had fresh fruit, same goes for the crust here a little thinner would allow for easier cutting and eating. Overall a decent place for lunch. read more

The you g man helping me had to talk to his manager to resolve it but he was very kind and genuine and I appreciated his attempt to mediate the situation. We had already spent so much time in Saint George trying to get this fixed that we just drove home to Las Vegas without eating. ‍ We were driving home to Las Vegas, so I placed an online order before we left Cedar City for pick up at 9:30am. I pulled up, followed the directions on the sign, and received a response that my order would be out shortly. I have been sitting here for 25 minutes so far. I text at 17 minutes to check the status, received a response that they were still working on it. The entire point of ordering in advance was to eliminate the wait and get back on the road quickly. There can be any number of circumstances that could have caused the delay, but communication goes a long way! I wish I could cancel the order and get my money back. read more

Whether there's 2 people in line or 15, there's only one person to take orders/cashier; and it doesn't help that they're always fumbling with how to work the computer. What a sad and terrible experience. Would give it zero stars if possible. Waited for 40 minutes to get 2 sandwiches--no special order, just straight from the menu. The dining area contained only unhappy customers. A DoorDash driver was in front of me and she said she waited 45 minutes for a small order. She had to keep texting her customers and she had to ASK for a special treat as compensation for her customers. Everyone had to wait at least as long as me for their orders. There was no organization at this store. There appeared to be a manager and she kept apologizing to everyone and telling all the customers that their orders were next. It was absolutely a disaster. The restaurant was not that busy. I had to ask at least 3 times for them to check on my order which absolutely did no good because they couldn't get anything done. I've attached a copy of my receipt which shows the time I ordered and the time stamp from the picture as they were bringing me my food. Goodbye Kneaders. Never again will I visit this location. This restaurant was so dirty inside and out. Our first sign was they had nothing on their reader board, so we really weren't sure if they were even open or had gone out of business. When we were walking in we had to walk around a door mat that was all wadded up on the sidewalk by the door. The cashier took our order and acted put out by our questions about the menu. Our food was pretty good but it smelled so bad in there it was hard to enjoy. The carpet was in really bad shape it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time and there was food everywhere. Not just crumbs from a table there was what looked like a caramel sauce in a big puddle and more. The gift area had been tended to at Al and was filthy. I've been in twice now and both times were a disaster. Ordering bread for Christmas took me 2 trips and 3 phone calls. The restaurant can't seem to call their customers when the pistachio bread fails. Second time in I had two orders to pick up yesterday. Arrival at 11:13, left store at 12:00. I asked why the hold up and I was told repeatedly that they were short staffed, however there were staff standing around all over the place. Like the staff have assigned stations and they don't leave them to help others. One staff was literally counting cup lids while the cashier floundered. The woman with the flower in her hair walked slow, didn't do anything to help and it seemed it was her social hour. The cashier seems like she doesn't know what she's doing but was the same cashier at my Christmas bread fiasco. Also, she complained she didn't have a pen, again. The first time I went was Saturday. We got the Turkey bacon avocado sandwich on focaccia and it was really good. Tasted fresh. It was a generous portion, so I only ate half and took the other half home. The tomato soup was so so good. I think there was lots of garlic in there? I couldn't get enough. It was so good, and I'm quite choosy when it comes to tomato soup. It's vegan, too. But I couldn't tell at all! The best part was the banana pudding! I haven't had banana pudding this good since the 90's! It was so good, I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I went back 2 days later to get more. This is where my positive experience got dropped. To the point of no return. I got the fruit tarts and the banana cream pie along with two banana pudding on my second trip. Just a pick up. . The fruit tarts were good, the banana cream pie was good enough (I've had better. It was mostly whipped cream, not enough custard / pudding). But the service was pretty not acceptable. It was extremely slow and there were no customers. It took 20 minutes after I paid, just standing there with no one around, just to have them put my pie and 4 pastries in a bag. I was just standing there, and... nothing. After they finally gave me my pie and pastries, I noticed that they had an offer where if you buy 5 pastries you get the 6th free. They didn't offer that to me when I ordered all my pastries or I would have done it. I asked if I could do it since I already bought 4 pastries and a pie. Could I buy a 5th pastry and get the 6th free. They said no. That I should have done it earlier. They were pretty unhelpful. Mind you, the place was pretty EMPTY. Anyways, I work in food service was quite surprised at the lack of customer service. The food was good, but unfortunately people won't come back if the service isn't good. read more

My favorite coffee shop and Bakery when I visit St. George!!!! I love the chicken soup, the sandwiches and pasteries. We have not had one bad item here. Counter staff was friendly but each time there has been a disconnect between me ordering and receiving what I ordered. I enjoy Kneaders salads near home and have tried it twice at this location, each time substituting regular lettuce for spinach for the extra buck. Each time I get regular lettuce and compared to other locations the turkey has been dirt dry. Yes, I should have looked in the container, but o should also trust I'll get what I ordered.
