Almond croissant has great filling but just a bit on the doughy side for a croissant. Same thing with the regular croissant. Good croissant but just a little on the doughy side. Amazing crust on the blueberry shortbread mini pie. Too much filling. Took out half of it. Raisin roll was good but more raisins in the roll than I cared for. Cherry almond turnover is one of their best items. Too bad they use artificial color with the filling. Almond bear claw is my second favorite- delicious. Cinnamon roll is good. What a great little bakery! I am so happy that this wonderful little is just 5 minutes away from my house. The girl who runs the bakery ( I am sorry I don't know her name) is always super friendly and nice. If she doesn't have something in stock, or doesn't make a particular type of pastry or bread, just give her a call a night before. The following morning you will have freshly made delicious pastries waiting for you. The pastries are giant and only about $2.75, compared to other bakeries, this is dirt cheap. read more

From the moment you walk in the door, until you leave, you will be amazed by the baked goods in the display cases, and the hospitality of Stephanie, the owner (I've never met her husband, Alex, because he has already put in a days work, and has gone home by the time I get there. He comes in very early to get the day's baking done by the time the doors open). I live in the Sacramento area, and sure do wish I could find a good Danish bakery. To date, I have been unable to find any Danish bakeries. That's why, when I come to Denver twice a year, I have to stop at Knead the Bakery and get my fix. I come with family in tow, usually arriving in more than one vehicle. We always enjoy the Croissants, then follow them up with an assortment of Danish pastries. We share so we can each get a taste of many different treats. When we're ready to leave, we find a sweet treat, like a kringle, a turnover, or a strudel to take home for breakfast the next morning and often a loaf of bread. I just love this place and wish we lived closer. We have gone there only a few times so far, but the experience has always been pleasant. Every aspect of this bakery deserves 5 stars: the customer service is always great, quality of their products are amazing, and the pricing is very reasonable. We have tried different types of pastries in the past and they are all good, and we got a small apple pie for the first time yesterday. The pie crust was flaky and the filling was not overly sweet. What a delightful discovery today after a less than pleasant experience at the neighboring DMV. I popped in to grab a loaf of bread and check out the shop. What a treat! The owner waited on me and was so friendly and helpful. Definitely was treated like an old friend. Ended up getting a mini-pie as well as the 7 grain loaf and was floored by both. So delicious! Love this place! My father in law moved in with us a few months ago and now that he knows it's here, we come frequently. Stephanie knows us and greets us with a big smile every single time.All the staff are friendly, helpful and patient with us and everyone else who comes in. The pastries are everything you want in a goodie and generously sized, especially for the surprisingly low price. Breads are delicious and day olds are a bargain if you get them in time. We hate to write reviews like this but feel we must. So after another visit and getting more almond croissants we had to finally speak out. There was so much marzipan filling it would not stay in! As we pulled the soft, buttery pastry apart the filling just spilled out. With each bite of the melt in your mouth dough we had to stuff the filling back inside or pinched the filling into each bite of pastry. Having to endure this much work with coffee was to much. We have sadly had other experiences there with other pastries filled with cream cheese or fruits, drizzled with chocolate or a light, sweet icing. It is also very difficult to hide a visit to this place from my other half. The flaky bits that fall into my lap when I am driving is difficult to explain and causes trust issue. We will have to return and purchase more of the croissants and other pastries to help save other people from such calamities in the future and to save relationships. read more

Excellent! I had two varieties of the filled croissants. The ham and gruyere, I think, and the ones with poppies on them. Sorry, I can't even remember exactly what I had. Rich and buttery. Just as good warmed up the next day! The lady behind the counter was very nice and didn't recognize me, so she asked if it was my first time in. When I confirmed it was, she gave me several helpful hints about food choices and storage/re-heating instructions. Just a really great experience and I will be back! The location and exterior (in a strip mall, next to the DMV) slightly obscure what a lovely spot this is. The owner was extremely nice and we chatted while I ate my delicious cinnamon roll and drank some fine coffee. I would highly recommend this spot over the DMV. read more

This place is so good. Stands absolutely heads above most bakeries in the Denver Metro area. Light and flaky crusts and sweet enough but not too sweet and sugary. You won't find a bunch of frosted offerings like you would from the local grocery store. This is baking that doesn't need to be hidden by over powering sugary topping. Go early because they do sell out of good stuff. read more
