Blueberry & carrot muffin
Inday C.

Lots of gluten free choices here for those who are gluten intolerant! There is also a wide array of options for breakfast and lunch. I came in for something sweet and ended up with the gluten free carrot muffin and it wasn't too sweet which was just right for me and a sugar free oat latte with caramel mocha! Service was great, she was patient with me it was my first time and I didn't really know what I wanted. This is a walk up and order restaurant and there are tables and chairs in a quiet set to enjoy your meal. If you're gluten intolerant, this place is a must visit!

As someone who is very well traveled and constantly trying gluten-free bakeries and cafés everywhere I go, I can confidently say this was by far one of the BEST gluten-free places I've ever been to. Every single thing we tried was incredible, cinnamon rolls, scones, Dubai pistachio cheesecake, fruit tarts, and honestly so much more. Nothing disappointed. The best part? EVERYTHING in the bakery is completely gluten free, which means as a celiac girl, I didn't have to stress or question a single thing. Being able to walk into a bakery and safely order anything is such a rare and amazing feeling. You can truly taste the quality, care, and love put into every item. Already planning my next visit

Chocolate croissant and maple donut
Jorey C.

So many gluten free options! So hard to choose! I ended up selecting the chocolate croissant and the maple donut. So hard to choose with a blueberry lemon cheesecake, pumpkin cheesecake with a salted caramel crust, pistachio brownie, Boston cream pie donut, and way more... The maple donut was good - moist, not too sweet, definitely could taste the maple. It seemed baked not fried which makes it healthier BUT I miss an actual fried donut texture and wanted that instead. Good size. This came in at $5. Love the donut flavor variety. The chocolate croissant. Holy frickin moly. This was outstanding. Like mic drop. So soft and moist but the top still had some bite to it. Many layers like a normal croissant, semi-sweet or darker chocolate in the middle, it was perfect amount of sweetness and buttery baked goodness. This was a whopping $11 but honestly worth it for a special treat. Haven't seen gf croissants typically. It was my birthday so I also got a free cake pop which was so nice!! This was definitely the sweetest of the three. I was on a sugar high already so it was too much for me. I took a stab at it again the next day and it was still moist. White chocolate outer with a chocolate cake inside, quite tasty. Great flavor combo. Cute decoration with sparkly sprinkles. Cute interior and love how there's outside seating

Super delicious GF options and the best and most friendly service! From the cakes to the breads- everything is great. Loved their Christmas menu!

Mother's Day raspberry lemon curd cake

This was a complete disappointment. The cake was so dry it didn't even cut as a slice. The texture and frosting was off too. For an 8inch cake we were overcharged a ridiculous $85 dollars. I am waiting for a response from them as I hope this isn't their normal turnout. I am hoping that orders overwhelmed them and they just messed up the baking. I will update if that is the case. In the meantime, do not order from here. The cake is completely dry. See the pictures.

First, I would love a Gluten Free cafe like this closer to where I live, but happy that this establishment is closer than my usual go to place. I had the BLT and it was the first time I've had one grilled since the grill is fully dedicated to all things GF. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had an oat milk Latte which was also very tasty. The environment is comfy and also outdoor seating. However we sat outside because of the constant line of traffic in this very busy strip mall.

Tuna melt tasted good, but must say was on the small side. Husband was still hungry. $22.

We stopped in for lunch and thought the food tasted good overall. The ordering system was a little confusing--the wait felt long considering it wasn't very busy. We ordered two tuna melts and it took about 27 minutes for them to come out. For $22 each, the portions were smaller than expected (a small sandwich with a few potatoes and grapes), and my husband left still hungry. That said, the atmosphere is beautiful and the space is really nice. With a little more value and faster service, this place could be great.

Selected Knead Luv bakery because it was open early enough that I could stop by on my way into work to pick up celebratory cake for work anniversaries! Tried the carrot cake and it was pretty good - large slice, dense but not dry, a little on the sweet side with too many raisins for my preference but overall good! Love the variety they had in the bakery and would like to go back and try some of their other offerings. They were trialing French toast made with their in-house Challa and offered us an extremely generous 'sample' (a whole plate!) with caramel and sautéed apples. So warm and generous! Can't wait to come back to try a specialty drink and chocolate croissant!

There's no place to sit inside, but there are two nice parking spaces out in the front since it's a busy parking lot by a gym. They have several cases of sweet options, cakes that you can customize on the spot, and pastries that are topped fresh to order. They also have so many cake pop flavors. I didn't even know how to decide! The owner, Melissa, was so sweet to me! I asked her questions about the business, and what they do for catering. I love supporting local businesses, especially bakeries because I'm a baker myself. I talked to her about customizing an order for my place of employment in the next couple of months and she was totally on board to customize it how I wanted. Aside for my too good bag, I ended up buying an ube cake pop and a Boston cream tart, and both are out of this world! On Fridays and Saturdays, they do buy one get one free cake, pops, so it's a perfect opportunity to try all of the flavors! Definitely try this place, you will not be disappointed!

I was really happy with the service. They also offer baked goods and cake pops for purchase in store. The bakery itself is very nice and clean, with an open kitchen and workspace where you can watch the decorators at work. The cookies were some of the best I've ever had. I've ordered custom cookies before that were a bit hard, but these were so soft and absolutely beautiful. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. I also thought my cake turned out super cute. If I had to nitpick, I wish the 30 had been in a slightly bolder font like my photo reference, but overall they did a great job. The cake was also quite large and heavy. I believe I ordered the 10 inch, and it was very tall. The picture honestly doesn't do it justice. I chose the cookies and cream flavor, and it was pretty good.

In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. We will return for some more flaky, apple-y goodness. The webpage makes mymouth water. I see many items are normal and mini sized. Great idea Dawn.

After a wonderful meal next door at The Sicilian Butcher, our waiter suggested some dessert, but…read morelittle did I know they had a whole bakery connected to the restaurant. I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

As a born and raised New Yorker, I take food very seriously... and Italian pastries even more so…read more Just before Christmas, I was traveling from New Yawk (visiting my parents) back to Phoenix to attend a family dinner at my partner's parent's home in Scottsdale. While I was still in NYC with my family on XMas eve eve, it hit me... I need to bring something besides wine everytime I go to their home. Nor a Southern dish. I wanted something unapologetically New Yaek. And what's more New Yawk than a box of classic Italian cookies? After asking a few Yelp friends where to find the best Italian cookies in Phoenix, The Sicilian Baker kept coming up. I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix! Do not walk, runswiftly to this place if you need a gift, a show stopping dessert, or simply want to treat yourself. I cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommended.
