I wouldn't have known about this place except for an event I was attending at the Holland Center.

As I entered the café, I saw a regular who hangs out there all the time. After I ordered, I joined him. I ordered a blueberry smoothie and a blueberry muffin. I do enjoy the taste of blueberries. Both orders were very good. Their homemade muffins have a strudel top. Yum! They also make a nice moist scone. Very relaxing to sit in there. They have regular tables and chairs or high tops. There is also a couch if you prefer that. Of course they have their outdoor seating and many people were doing that as well. Even for a Sunday it was fairly crowded. Free refills on their regular drinks. Shared parking lot.

Just moved to Arizona on Valentine's Day and already found a little gem I know I'll keep coming…read moreback to I've been to Grotto Cafe twice now. The first time I stopped in for a glass of wine just to check it out -- they were about to close, but the staff was so kind and welcoming. I even saw a roadrunner on the patio, which honestly felt like the perfect Arizona welcome moment I went back yesterday after a 4-mile hike at Jewel of Cave Creek and had a turkey, avocado, and bacon sandwich with chips -- simple but absolutely delicious. Fresh, satisfying, and exactly what I needed after being out on the trails. Prices are very reasonable too. The vibe here is what makes it special. It's busy but relaxed, cozy but open, and you order at the counter which keeps everything easy and casual. They offer coffee, wine, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and more -- perfect for a quick bite or a chill afternoon. I especially love the setting surrounded by the little Cave Creek shops. It has such a peaceful, welcoming energy and is a great spot to sit outside, enjoy lunch, and soak in the Arizona sunshine. Whether you're hiking nearby or just exploring the area, this is a wonderful place to stop. I'll definitely be back

I go only with the chicken, green chilies, jalapeño ranch dressing and peppers. The rest I skipped. They slice the sandwich the right way, and man, it's damn good. People are very friendly. My wife always goes with the Southwest Chicken salad. She raves about it all the time. And she's a picky salad eater. Pricing is good, way lower than Baggins. Tastes better too.

There is just one line for ordering and then you seat yourself. They have a four or five tables inside and then some outside. It was a nice day so we sat outside. Hopefully they have umbrellas for the summer months. The gentleman that took our order was quite friendly and our sandwiches were out in under 10 minutes. They have a nice selection of meats, breads , and salads. We both chose the cranberry turkey sandwich and it was delicious. Mine was on fresh sourdough with a generous amount of turkey and fresh veggies. Two 6 inch sized sandwiches came to a little over $24. They do a surcharge if you use a credit card which I will avoid next time by using cash. I don't love this and wish businesses would just include it in the price of the food, however it is minimal. The service was very friendly and the quality of the food was worth the price.

This place is worth FIVE stars. Yum, yum, yum! Excellent service and super fantastic food…read more Had some of the best brisket I've gotten in a while. I love esquites (Mexican prepared corn), though that's the one thing I'd say wasn't worth getting to me-- I would have preferred to sub with another fantastic side. If you want an authentic western-town complemented by what feels like an apro-pros themed meal, walk on in to Cryin' Coyote BBQ

First, let me start off by saying that the meats are absolutely amazing!! Highly recommend! we had…read moreribs, brisket and pulled chicken. Also the spicy green chili bread. Very hard it hurts. I did notice that the meat was sitting on top of a toasted slice of bread after I got halfway through it lol!! go ahead We were expecting a sit down experience with a waitress. That that's not how it is. You can sit down at any table you want, look over the menu, which is up at the register. There's one posted on the wall and there's paper ones you can take back to your table. There is no service. You go in and you order what you want to eat, pay for it and then you go to the bar pick up your food, and then service table to get your drinks, cutlery, sauces, napkins, etc. Make sure you get lots of napkins if you got the barbecue and sauce. You will be using lots of napkins. We got up three times to go get napkins lol! Everybody working there that I spoke to, really outgoing, friendly welcoming people. There's tables of every sizes and shapes as well as booths. The young woman who took our order did come to our table several times to make sure that everything was good. We had a little two year-old with us celebrating her birthday. She ate two of the brisket slices all by herself. All in all, this is a good place to go for lunch on Sunday. Especially if you like barbecued meats. The ribs were outstanding as well. Mostly meat. But you could have them with that on you them. They ask you when you're ordering how you'd like your ribs and brisket. We also had an order of french fries and they were pretty good. It's $18 for one meat and $24 for two meats. You also get two sides. It's a lot of food so we ended up sharing two plates. I forgot to get one of the paper menus. So I can't resubmit picture of them it. The prices have gone up, from the photos posted on this Yelp so be prepared for that. All in all it's pretty reasonable just don't expect any service. I still left them a good tip. I appreciate that someone came to check on us several times and they even comped me a free tea I guess because we spent a lot of money and it already left a nice tip. I really appreciated that. we ended up going back and ordering more food. If you're someone who enjoys good barbecue, this is a good place to go. I really have to complement the pork ribs. They were really well done lots of meat almost no fat and the sauces were pretty good. I apologize for not taking pictures of the food. it's challenging when dealing with a two-year-old lol!!
