In general for their own specialty bagels or for a combo of three things you make yourself, you're looking at a $15+ bagel. However, said bagel also comes with an enjoyable ambiance. It's a bit indie/cutesie/intentionally lighthearted but very enjoyable. There are window seats to look out on to the street and a whole separate large room of tables that would make for a good place to get some work done if that is the goal. There is sweet gift section with the Russ & Daughters story/cookbook, t shirts, and clever hand-designed cards. The service was hit or miss - one employee was very attentive, another seemed annoyed to have to serve customers (although in a NYC deli, after which this place appears to take its inspiration, a little grinchiness perhaps makes the experience more authentic). All around, a few small negatives, but I really enjoyed my bagel and its surroundings, so five stars. UPDATE - I went back a second time and got basically the same thing minus the turkey bacon ie a bagel with cream cheese and an egg, and an iced coffee. Came out to about $15. I think their prices are just unreasonably high unfortunately and the egg the second time around fell flat.

Everything was incredibly flavorful and the cream cheese was SO good. I had also gotten an iced coffee special which was good. I think the coffee was good, but not out of this world good. The specialty is the food, which is totally fine & understandable. I will gladly be back to try more food items! Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. We showed up a little later in the day on Sunday and were shocked by the selection they still had available. Tons of sweet and savory pastry options along with many different bread choices too. We did beat quite a large rush of people inside thankfully and just so you know the space is on the smaller side. Related to that they also don't have seats inside so it's more of a grab and go situation. During this visit, my wife and I both grabbed a blueberry lemon scone and a Pain au chocolat. All of their offerings looked so delicious and tempting. A spot you would need to visit a couple times to really sample everything. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and despite a lot of people showing up kept the line moving at a good pace. Prices seemed reasonable compared to other bakeries. The blueberry lemon scones were very tasty but we did both enjoy the Pain au chocolate a little more. Was on the small side but the chocolate used was so rich and the pastry was perfectly flaky and buttery! Definitely a welcome addition to the Freeport area and a bakery I would recommend to those from or visiting the area!

He basically told me I would be better off going to the Hannaford grocery in town for bagels and cream cheese, as I was placing my order. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way. As I am trying to give business to the locals. To imply for me go elsewhere was odd. When I was there there was not a long line or anything. So it was not like I was holding anyone up. Oddly didn't get much of a buttery flavor from this croissant, I also feel like a very small amount of spices could have gone a long way to help pull in some warm undertones for the flavor. If I get back here on another trip, I'll be sure to arrive earlier to get some different options.

The new owner has added a few fancier options, while keeping the quality top-notch.
