The pie was gross!!! I would never recommend them!! There are a lot of incredible Chefs in Portland. The cook Amy is not in the same league.

You eat family style which isnt my fave but in particular really isnt my fave if youre starving and running on a few 2oz shots of cider as there is no beer, wine, full pours of anything or even water? We sat at the end of the table and when the main entree (chicken) came out it was put in the middle so by the time it got to us we got about 2 bites of gristly thigh- and then the "chef" had the audacity to ask if we were full?! It was pretty clear that there was no edible chicken or pureed vegetables by the time it got down to us so when they cleared plates that didnt have food it should have gone without saying. We had to go home and order a pizza, mainly cause this took so long everything was closed. For the price point you could actually eat food you wanted almost anywhere else in Maine. I didnt feel comfortable complaining as it is generally not necessary in fine dining establishments and would have been rude in such a setting, particularly as we were sat next to a business associate of the chef. Such a disappointment.

She absolutely nails how a business owner should be. My wife spotted on their social media yesterday they would be having lavender shortbread cookies and knew we needed to go and get them. They actually sourced the lavender from a fellow local business Botanically Curious. Great to see local supporting local. The Messy Cookie is a great spot to grab some delicious cookies. Like mentioned the owner is so friendly and almost always has some samples for you to try. They host events including cookie decoration. Also while we did not have any since we had coffee before they had coffee by design coffee available to pair with your cookies. If you are looking for delicious and unique bakery cookies from a local business this is the place to check out. We loved the lavender cookie and enjoyed getting a lemon crinkle again too!

I waited a few minutes for the chocolate sea salt cookies to come out of the oven and ate them while still warm. Is there anything better than that? I didn't realize it at first, but as she talked, I realize that I've been to events where her and the photographer who shares her space have been where they take photographs of partygoers and put them on cookies, which are beautiful! Such a great idea for something different at an event or a party! Even though this is at an odd corner, there is plenty of parking either down the side street that runs next to the shop or in the first parking lot if you begin turning up Steven's Ave. Don't miss this wonderful cookie shop!

My best friend is joining the air force and in preparation she has been going on discovery flights to get hours and experience. For my birthday this year she surprised me with a gift certificate for a free flight. Upon arrival we introduced to our instructor Aaron Poetz. I would 100% recommend him and would definitely request him in the future. He made our flying experience one to remember. This is something I think everyone should try at least once in their life. So grateful for the experience I had this morning and cannot wait to do it again. Thank you Southern Maine Aviation and Aaron!

If I could give SMA negative 5 stars, I would…read more They are a TOTAL Scam. Waste of $. All of these "positive" reviews you see are Fake. Read my experiences with them to see why they are FULL OF S*it, with nasty, condescending people in charge (Andrew Button and "owner" Mark Damuth). Stay away from Southern Maine Aviation The "manager" mark Damuth--is one nasty human being (pos). He is condescending and takes no responsibility for his inept instructors or company; the "chief pilot" Andrew is nearly as bad. Mark believes a paying customer who makes legitimate, verifiable complaints about the 'service' from the company and employees and requesting to get what they, the paying customer, fully paid for is somehow considered "harassment" and "threatening "and he will then REFUSE you service (BTW, I had my lawyer check my complaints and he could've brought a defamation suit against Damuth for saying that I was threatening because I did NO such thing; he just doesn't want to hear negative reviews about his sh!t company)! I've never been treated this way as a paying customer. Avoid Logan as a flight instructor. If you have a tight budget, time restrictions in your life and clear goals, I'd highly urge you to NOT use this company for flight training! Do NOT waste your time or money (unless you just want to burn $ with no set goal) at Southern Maine Aviation. I was fortunate to be able to take a leave from my job and had the money to finish a rating that I had wanted. I had said NUMEROUS times to Southern Maine/instructor that I wanted to be scheduled EVERY DAY, so that I can finish this rating ASAP. I had repeated this several times. From my past experiences with flight training, as well as per the advice of an airline pilot and a CFI from another company, and they concur with me, that you need to fly every day, or at least several times a week, in order to become and stay proficient with the maneuvers in order to pass the checkride. PERIOD. Further part 141 companies, which Southern Maine claims to be, that I have used in the past only allowed for TEN HOURS of training for this particular rating (see ATP). It CAN be done in that timeframe with a GOOD instructor and company = neither of which i got from SMA! I had been trying SINCE March to May of 2023 to finish this with Southern Maine, for a rating that shouldve taken NO more than ten hours; and I barely got scheduled once a week and not a care in the world from my "instructor", the "chief" pilot or "manager". So, i never was able to get my rating after spending $4k+! My instructor screwed up the schedule and canceled MY slot bc he had someone else in it. My instructor stated that he'd schedule me asap.....that was in may 2023 and i never heard back from him. After unsuccessful attempts to get my complaints rectified by the "manager/owner", i have just gotten no accountability, condescension and nastiness and wrongfully accused of "making threats"...im still waiting for Mark to show me where i allegedly made these threats (hes a lying pos). I refused to continue to pay to get this type of training from this company, when I clearly dont matter as a customer that had paid a lot of $$. So now, after MONTHS of studying, wasted time, gas, mileage/wear and tear on car, and $4000+ pissed away with Southern Maine, I still have NOTHING. Since I never was not sufficiently prepped or signed off for a checkride with Southern Maine, I am still no closer to my goals then when I started....just poorer. If you have a goal of finishing as fast as possible to get flight training, do NOT use Southern Maine. Go to an actual 141 school. Going with Southern Maine, with no clear focus on your training or when/if youll finish your goals, with incompetent instructors/"chief" pilot Button/owner Damuth, is NOT the way to go. N ow, thanks to Southern Maine not really giving a hoot about my goals, needs or training, I am out of luck with regards to finishing my rating and my flying future. I may never have opportunity to finish my training and head to the airlines. Avoid this company if you want to get your certs and ratings within reasonable times, per 141 standards. DO NOT WASTE TIME OR $ WITH SMA
