We've never worked with contractors in the past and the process was so overwhelming getting bids with price varying so much and it was hard to know who to go with with the amount of investment we were putting in. The moment we met Raz, we connected with him instantly--he listened to us, gave recommendations, understood the work and what we needed, and boy did they execute flawlessly. Not only did they execute the plans we had in place but Raz went above and beyond with me to pick out finished materials and gave recommendations on what to choose from flooring, cabinetry, bathroom, etc. I had no idea what I was doing but he was always there for questions and was so responsive. I highly recommend working with Raz and the entire team. Thank you so much for making our ADU dreams come true. :)

Unfortunately, after meeting with a representative to review the scope of the project, we never received any follow-up or a quote. During that time, I began receiving a series of marketing emails about why LRL would be a great company to work with, which I didn't mind while I was waiting for the estimate. However after that, I started receiving emails stating that I had chosen to move in a different direction and that I should consider them for a future project. The confusing part is that we never made that decision. we were waiting to hear back. I was genuinely interested in working with them, but it ultimately felt like the company chose not to move forward with us.

Let's be very clear, don't call these guys looking for the cheapest bid, they will not be that. Workmanship has been better than what I've seen from previous concrete contractors (albeit others were cheaper) Bohannan does best when you have a drawing with "detail" specs. I liked the pre-pour preparation steps, post-pour joint management and the final clean towards the end. Things I don't like are project delays and fine line cracks that are too small to re-pour but still obviously visible. Some of the fine lines may be attributable to a hot weather pour. All in all though, they took precautions and did not take needless shortcuts. Communication was slower than normal, our project manager is in his 80's, so don't expect speedy texts and emails.

Garrett was very responsive to emails and calls and stopped by often. The crew was very professional, neat, and safety-conscious. I also like how the waste (concrete, dirt, vegetation) was separated and recycled. The bid was not the cheapest, but was in line with two others. I am really glad I went with Bohannan Concrete and would highly recommend them to others.

We had a great experience working with KC Custom Builders on our project. From the very beginning,…read morecommunication was phenomenal. Nathan and his team were consistently responsive across phone, text, and email, and we always felt like we knew what was happening and what to expect next. That level of communication alone set them apart from many other contractors we considered. One of the standout aspects of the process was their use of Buildertrend. Having a centralized place for updates, schedules, selections, and messaging made the entire remodel feel organized and transparent. It eliminated a lot of the typical uncertainty that comes with construction projects and gave us confidence that nothing was slipping through the cracks. Given the complexity of our project and the inevitable unknowns that come with remodeling, we felt the schedule was managed very well. When adjustments were needed, they were clearly communicated, along with the reasoning behind them. That transparency made a big difference and helped us stay aligned throughout the process. The team was also very mindful of keeping our home clean and protected during construction. They took consistent care to minimize disruption, which made day-to-day life much easier while the work was ongoing. In terms of quality, there was a clear attention to detail at every stage, and especially in the finished work. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and the final result feels well-crafted, thoughtful, and built to last. We spoke with several contractors before moving forward, and while there were other solid options, none matched the level of transparency, organization, and ease of working that we experienced with Nathan and his team. They were straightforward, professional, and genuinely focused on delivering a good outcome. We have already recommended KC Custom Builders to friends and neighbors and will continue to do so. If you're looking for a team that communicates clearly, manages the process well, and delivers high-quality results, they are an excellent choice.

HOMEOWNERS BE AWARE! DO NOT PAY FOR THE ITEMIZED BID!!…read more We hired Nathan Casey to do an itemzied bid for our home remodel project. He charges people $3,000 to give a detailed bid for projects. Our experience led us to the conclusion that Nathan was more interested in charging us for an estimate and that he ultimately had little intention of taking the job (unless we bit on his extremely and surprising "final bid"). We'll explain why. First he gives you a ballpark number. At the time we already had all of our architect and structural drawings that he reviewed. And he had come to the house a couple of times. His delivered an estimate that ranged from $500K - $800K, without any details about what drove that range. Knowing what we know now, that should have been the first red flag. Someone with his background and experience should never had given that large of a range as all plans were done, and most of the major materials were chosen. Yet, we hired him to do an itemized specific estiamate, for $3000, so that we could seriously consider him for the project. After agreeing to pay the fee and hiring him, he missed deadline after deadline of providing us a final bid we could consider - which jeopardized our ability to commit to the contractor we ultimately selected while we waited. He told us that his estimate would take 4-6 weeks and we didn't have a final number until over 8 weeks. He kept forgetting specific information that was given to him, like what materials were being used where. He also kept misunderstanding the structural drawings and insisting that the information needed validating (which it did not, we are using the same structural now for the job and they are correct). Also, as an interesting corroborating side note: his final bid never involved his stated intention to inspect our attic and crawlspace/foundation to ensure accuracy. Is that evidence that his "final" bid wasn't in good faith, accurate, or best practice... given the substantial work to our foundation and roof in this project? As we communicated to him in person, the fact that he gave us an "original range" in writing of $500k-$800k for our project (which included full architectural, engineering, electrical, and most all design plans)... but he still required $3000 for an "accurate bid"... only to then deliver a final bid at $830k without any project scope change... was revealing. When we asked him point blank: "under what circumstances was this project ever possible to be $500k"... he provided no answer. Interestingly enough, after many delays and us pinging him on delivering his final estimate over the 8 weeks we engaged, when it came to collecting his $3000 bid fee Nathan then frequently emailed and texted us, and was very focused and communicative around collecting.

We wanted to renovate our kitchen and bathrooms without having to do everything ourselves and MSK…read morecame recommended to us from friends and other families we knew and they sure didn't disappoint us! Most importantly, MSK listened to all our conditions, likes and dislikes and never really went over budget at all and even finished the work ahead of time which is unheard of in construction industry! Kat, Kelly, Curt and all of them were detail oriented, patient, and we loved working with them. It showed their experience in this industry and all the vendors they work with were also great. Communication was easy with CoConstruct and it was great to not to have to deal with every small thing. MSK took care of all the permits, engineering and inspection paperwork's which I think was the biggest hurdle prior to actual work. I would highly recommend MSK!

I had been wanting to remodel my kitchen and living areas for the last few years. My first phone…read morecall was to Kat, the co-owner at MSK Design Build. She spent close to an hour with me on the phone and provided a rough idea of budget as well as ideas to make the job more cost effective. Following that, I spent several months and considerable time meeting with several other designers/builders in my area. As a result, my decision to work with MSK is based as follows: 1. They spent the most time and effort upfront to provide a realistic estimate and made every effort to include costs that others overlooked (i.e. asbestos abatement). 2. They were very clear about the process and scheduling for the job. The utilize an application that is transparent for both the client and themselves. It was very clear to me that responsibilities were well defined in their company. 3. They took the time to explain the details of the job to me. Prior to signing design contract, they were available to answer any questions or concerns I brought up. 4. Specific personnel would be assigned to my job. It would not vary throughout the duration. 5. The fact that they design AND build (from their own design) was appealing because that would minimize any discrepancies between a separate design company and a separate build company. Linda was my designer. Although she is now retired, she has many years of experience in design. She did an outstanding job in the new layout of my kitchen. In additions, she made other helpful suggestions of things that I was not aware of or had overlooked. To help me select materials, she assisted in every step with flooring, plumbing fixtures, tile, counter tops, etc. She made appointments with their vetted venders and we would go together to make the selections. Linda had a clear understanding of my preferences and guided me towards making sound decisions. I was very pleased with the trades people who performed the work. Joe was the lead carpenter. He was meticulous and took great pride in his work. He did an excellent job of installing the new cabinets, casing work and trim details. Shawn was the painter assigned to my project, and again, his expertise and experience was evident in the finished project. Jorge was the plumber for the job and like the others, his work efforts were appreciated and his abilities added to the job success. These individual's main concern was to do a job I was pleased with and I never felt their extra efforts or time spent were a burden to them. Like their vendors, MSK have several years of working with the subcontractors used for the tile work, electrical, counter tops and sheetrock. They were all professional, timely and courteous. Communication throughout he project was outstanding. Curt was my Project Manager. Any e-mails, text messages, concerns, etc. were addressed and answered promptly. The work areas were always clean at the end of the day and construction debris was removed promptly. The project came in on schedule and on budget. MSK did exactly what they said they would do. I was very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend MSK Design Build for anyone who is looking for a reputable company.

We hired RAXE for a full remodel of two bathrooms because simple cosmetic fixes weren't going to cut it. We needed major electrical updates, rewiring, custom tile installation, and new countertops. Working with Rafael felt like a true collaboration. He listened to our vision for a spacious, luxury walk-in shower, gave great feedback on layout and fixture lighting, and worked within our budget without compromising on materials or build quality. The crew was hardworking, dedicated, and just plain fun to work with every day. What really set RAXE apart was their responsiveness. When our water heater gave out mid-project and began flooding the garage, Rafael came right over to the rescue. His solution to install a tankless water heater not only solved the crisis, but optimized our layout so well that we were able to add a second laundry setup and utility sink. We kept adding to the project because of how easy and transparent Rafael made the process. Five stars all day long!

My number one priority when looking for contractors was clear communication in all aspects of the project, and I'm very happy to report that Lion Group Construction did not disappoint. I came in with a vision and budget in mind, and Udi helped me figure out what was actually feasible, what would put me way over budget, and suggestions to work around the limitations of our space. When the team hit roadblocks during construction due to past owners' questionable DIY methods and the age of the home, they were quick to text/call and let me know what was up, how they planned to deal with it, and always waited for confirmation from me before proceeding with anything that would differ from the original plan we'd made. If I had questions or noticed small details that I wanted to change in the midst of the work, they responded quickly and kindly.
