Kyle, it is obvious that your response to my review is filled with lies and misrepresentation. As everyone can see from other negative reviews, your team routinely cuts corners, delivers shoddy work and refuses to return deposits for work that is not completed. I suggest you review your records from the past 5 years and refund deposits for customers you have cheated. Anyone who has worked with Kyle Matthew Construction (also known as Wilbur Group) knows that Max Marder (aka Maximillian B. Smith-Marder) and Milton Marder are the primary people who run and supervise subs and jobs. Funny you are denying working with them, when their names are all over your reviews here and on Thumbtack. No one has to take my word for it, you are welcome to google "Milton Marder fraud" or "Maximillian Marder arrest"... and see what you find. Update... The list of lawsuits against Kyle Matthews Construction for shoddy work and failure to deliver keeps growing... trellis. law has list of cases. Even the MA Attorney general has also cited the company. To provide further context, we hired KMC to complete the full build-out of a restaurant, not just the rough plumbing, electrical, and framing. Despite paying approximately $138,000 and after 19 months on the project, they failed to deliver satisfactory results. We made numerous attempts to contact KMC in hopes they would finish the work, but they were unable to complete it. Their plumber refused to return to the site, the electrician indicated that they were waiting on KMC to finish their part and had not been on the site for more than 3 months, and the sprinkler contractor couldn't complete their work due to KMC's inability to finish their scope. While Kyle M may attempt to deceive the public with his arguments, I believe the photo of the incomplete and poorly executed work will speak for the issue. I invite you to review the image and make your own judgment about whether KMC should be trusted for any future projects. After numerous attempts to reach out to KMC regarding ongoing issues with the project, we were ultimately forced to hire a new contractor to review the work completed. Following a thorough assessment, the new contractor determined that the plumbing, among other tasks assigned to KMC, was completed inaccurately. These issues have significantly impacted the project's progress. Due to KMC's failure to meet the required standards, we were compelled to pay for the entire project once again in order to address these deficiencies. There is nobody better in the New England area for New Construction, Additions, Rehabs & ADU's... we had a rehab project in Plymouth and we tried 4 different contractors before falling on Kyle & Mel and believe me it was the best decision we ever made. This is an update to my original review in which I described a terribly built garage, that is flooded YEAR round. The floor isn't even either, so water pools in the back corner. KMC's reply on to it on yelp was filled with mistruths. They absolutely tried to overcharge me and pressured me to send a final check that was $600 more than what I had owed. Shall I post the texts?? They knew about the water situation from the beginning. What you're reading in their reply is that they improperly assessed the project. You can expect a TON of that from The Wilbur Group and KMC. So the original quote keeps creeping up. My project started as an improperly assessed $4000 wall demo that turned into a garage. $30K later, they said I needed to add a drain in my yard toward the END of the project's completion, as they realized the shoddy work they did would not hold up to ground that buries the side of the garage. Every contractor I've brought to my home since has encouraged me to contact the Attorney General. Yes we both have evidence that the original quote did not contain things that KMC admit were needed. That Supports my narrative. I didn't Prefer cinder block, I was pressured to use it because the job was taking so long. I'm no expert. Why in the world would I advise professionals? If I had preferred it, the quote would have indicated cinder block. Yes inspectors approved it, but they're not telling you about how previously inspectors told them to stop and make a new plan as their original one was unsafe for my house, underscoring the lack of quality of their work. Shall I keep going, Kyle? I have always and do appreciate that they added insulation to my garage ceiling after leaving a gaping hole from the outside to my bedroom from early Dec - late Jan. Kyle, I have already tried to contact KMC directly. Thank you for inviting me to do something that I've already done. You sent someone to assess it and I've never heard back. I invite you to Return the contact that I had initiated weeks ago. Instead, I only got derisive texts from your son. Nobody's perfect. I'm just looking for accountability.
