I read users: 'V V.' post on here and honestly, appalled since I do not share the same experience at all. I called Joe from Primo Paving and we discussed briefly the job on the phone and right away, he was interested and engaged in our discussions. We discussed a couple of more times on the phone afterwards the technical details and soon after, I hired Joe to do a driveway which included an excavation, and paving of a driveway and the side of my house. Joe completed the job with such precision and quality that my neighbors came out the next day and asked, who the gentleman was that did my driveway. I have highly recommended Joe to my neighbors and doing so, again on this official forum. I want everyone know look at my driveway and be able to know that I had absolutely zero stress and no issues whatsoever in the entire process. From the initial conversation, Joe was polite, informative and very thorough in his assessment. He was even nice enough to meet with my dad that week to get his opinion on the driveway, and he answered all of our questions we had with a great understanding of the industry standards, process, tools, and gave us accurate measurements. More importantly, his estimate did not change. I have been in situations, where contractors will provide an estimate and then the bill will go up incrementally every time you talk to the contractor. Not in this case. Joe is very honest, giving me a reasonable and upfront estimate that did not change in anyway, shape or form. His quality of work speaks for himself. If you drive in the city, you can definitely tell the difference between a quality driveway and a driveway that was done in a hurry or with little attention to detail. You can tell my driveway was done by Joe from Primo Paving! Joe's equipment was all new, working perfectly and there are an industry leader in the driveway paving industry. It is fully accurate to the measurements provided, complete, thorough, and he used ample amount of tar/gravel to make sure that my driveway will last me for me for my entire life. I hired Primo Paving in the city of Somerville, MA and was immediately impressed with his quick and rapid reply to my request for an estimate. He came to see the project, answered all of my questions and gave me a written estimate on the spot. The price was very reasonable and fair for the amount of driveway and work I wanted to get done, and for the quality, and expertise he brings to table. You can tell Joe has been doing this for 30+ years because he was knowledgeable about the subject. Everything from retaining walls, excavation, paving, seal-coating and more, Joe was able to make me feel comfortable that I was talking and doing business with an expert. I was very grateful Joe took the job and his prompt work ethic led me to having my driveway 100% done in less than a week and a half, from the initial communications to the complete, final job. I'm very pleased to give this company a 5-star review! What a great job Joe and his guys did at my house! They tore out my ancient crumbled and broken concrete and did my sidewalk, driveway and walkway all in asphalt, and also installed beautiful cobblestones for a retaining wall! I'm super-happy with the results and Joe and his crew worked like busy bees to get the whole job done efficiently in a day, from start to finish! Then they came back later after the paving cured to apply sealer. They left everything clean, swept and even washed up. It's amazing what a difference this new pavement makes - My whole home looks new again! When considering paving types, Joe showed me local examples of paver stone work he's done, and if I'd had more to spend, I would have considered it because it was simply beautiful! But my modestly-priced asphalt also looks great. I have no complaints! Joe is also very honest and gives great professional advice, and has a very pleasant and fun personality. Highly recommend Primo Paving! My driveway was in rough condition. I had other companies come out to give me estimates in the past but when they came they did not seem trustworthy. I held off until I went to a friends' baby shower and noticed her driveway and how it has a rich black finish with a smooth texture. I asked her who did her driveway and she said Joe from Primo Paving a few years back. I was amazed at the work, it looked as though it was done yesterday and for it to stay like that through the rough winters of snow and salt impressed me. The next day I called Joe. After speaking with him on the phone he came out to my house in Belmont the same day to have a look. There was no comparison to the estimates I received before. He went over in detail the process it would take to put in a whole new driveway. After listening to him I gave him the job. He is very methodical. LOVE PRIMO PAVING! We are so happy! Primo's Owner, Joe, is so nice, so professional and courteous, and we trust him completely, especially now that he delivered everything he promised, and more! Joe helped us to make a perfect plan for our paving job, a tight residential property with a difficult, narrow driveway and walk. Primo came and sized up our job and gave us a very reasonable quote for a lot of work. He gave us expert advice that saved us money and made the best use of the space we had. His crew were speedy and did perfectionist work, moving plants, building a stone wall, and laying a very thick layer of asphalt over a solid bed of packed gravel. Last year I called Primo paving and Seal coating and Joe the owner answered. We set up a time to meet at my property and he was punctual and professional. As always I get three bids. His price was neck and neck with another competitor and one bid was off the charts. Because of his professionalism I called and set an appointment to have the driveway done. On the day of the paving he arrived at the specified time and said he felt as if he overcharged me and took additional money off the price. Now the job was a bargain. The work was excellent and I have already booked him for other jobs for this spring. Working with contractors and vendors as a Property Manager for many years I have seen it all and in many cases you have to chase them to return your phone call. Not the case here. The work done was on my home and I was so impressed he will work on Properties that I manage. I never discussed my position or the fact that this was "not my first rodeo" dealing with one in his line of work. I would call Joe in a New York minute for paving and seal coating. ***PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY*** This guy is a scum bag He made me think he was "the best" and I fell for it. All he did was talk about himself and ranted about his reviews. (I should have known right there, because if you are that good your work speaks for itself you don't need to brag about yourself for hours) The job he did for me was AWFUL , my driveway looks like crap. Worst part is the company site says they pry themselves on customer service , however he won't return any phone calls. I feel like I was taken advantage of and he won't even come back to make it right or even return a phone call. We use Primo Paving mainly for snow removal after big storms. In addition to being a good guy and a straight-shooter, Joe is an artist with the plow. Our driveway is very tight--no place to turn around or dump the snow. But he's able to create enough space for our cars to drive right out, without ever touching any of the landscaping. This past storm he bailed us out. Even though we didn't call him until relatively late and he could have charged us a premium, he came over within a couple of hours, did a great job, and charged us the usual rate. We were very happy with the service from Primo Paving. The owner was very knowledgeable in analyzing the issues we had and the work required to address them; and he was very prompt in providing us an estimate and finishing the job. He also went above and beyond with the cleanup - they cleared back a ton of growth on the edge of the driveway and removed a sizable rock pile that we inherited from the previous owner. I am very impressed with the professionalism of Primo Paving. Joe is the same person who comes out to give you a quote and the guy to do the work so you know nothing is lost in communication. Primo Paving also uses Liquid Gold for seal coating which I found to be first rate. Other companies wish they used this name brand. Lastly, Joe manually applies this seal coat.
