After meeting with three different basement waterproofing companies to compare plans and pricing, we ultimately chose Keller Waterproofing. While they were the most expensive option, they worked with us on the price, and their proposal was by far the most comprehensive--clearly reflecting the value behind the cost. Keller was the only company to address not just the interior drainage system and sump pump, but also the exterior downspouts and full-house drainage. They also recommended installing a vapor barrier from floor to ceiling, which no other company suggested. This thoughtful addition was aimed at eliminating odors and helping redirect water from any future cracking--an extra layer of protection we appreciated. Their warranty is advertised as a "lifetime" warranty, though it's technically a 15-year transferable warranty. Still, it's reassuring to know it can be passed along to future homeowners. Once the project began, they uncovered an unexpected issue with our foundation (not surprising given the quirks of our house). The remediation added a significant cost, but after discussing our financial situation, Keller generously reduced the additional charge by nearly 40%. Impressively, even with the added work, they finished the project three days ahead of schedule. Throughout the process, their team was professional and respectful of our space--covering all belongings to protect them from concrete dust. They even went above and beyond by repairing our front sidewalk after running drainage underneath it, leaving it in better condition than when they arrived. As for performance, we haven't had enough rain to truly test the system yet (and hopefully won't anytime soon), but based on garden hose testing, the sump and drainage systems are functioning as designed. The basement in my duplex home in Bridgewater was always damp or wet. We had basement water problems for years that were only partially addressed by an amateur, jerry-rigged sump pump system. Last year we finally decided to fix the problem and talked with three companies in the suburban Boston area. We decided to go with Keller based on Jim's diagnosis of the underlying issues and proposed solutions, which were a contrast compared to the cookie-cutter approaches suggested by the other companies. The work was completed quickly and professionally by a crew that knew what they were doing and who worked pretty much non-stop while on site. I've waited for almost a year before posting this review because I wanted to make it through the rainy season to ensure that the new system actually works. It does. We had a water problem behind the walls of our basement. It turned out to be the result of water coming through crumbling window wells and a complicated foundation made of small rocks that could not be sealed. Jim's crew dug down along the foundation and poured a concrete wall to seal that side of our house. Then they rebuilt the window wells and installed a french drain. I had called Keller because we thought that we needed foundation repair, due to all of the water in our basement. They called back almost immediately! I spoke with Julia. She is absolutely AWESOME!! She asked if it was coming from an inside or outside wall? I informed her that it was an inside wall between the laundry room and the family room. She had asked if we had checked sround the washer and there was none. I then looked near the furnace and the water heater. Low and behold, it was the water heater! I can't believe how wonderful and helpful she was. I then explained to her how we had called Erickson Foundation. They had sent someone out. He never bothered to look around or lift up the carpet and roped us into siginig up for $20,000 worth of foundation work that we don't need. The proof is in the outcome - our basement and our back yard are dry after this weekend's day of rain, all thanks to Keller Waterproofing. Our home sits on a high water table. We have two sump pumps that have been running almost continuously since we moved in. Turning them off even briefly leads to noticeable water accumulating in the pump wells and even our radon mitigation system. When in use, the pumps discharge enough water that we effectively had a pond in our back yard - and that was after we had the prior waterproofing company move the discharge further into the yard to avoid the water coming back into our basement through the window wells. The Keller team diagnosed our need and recommended a holistic solution - dry well, new piping from the sump pumps and the downspouts, and new sump pumps. They worked diligently to do the work in our yard, getting a big job done in just a few days. They were friendly, patient when explaining the situation to us, and thorough in their work. We've had water problems in our basement for a very long time. I have a sump pump but it was getting old and occasionally would stop working. In one area the water in the basement couldn't get to the sump pump and frequently I'd be pumping it out of my basement. Got tired of dong that and called Keller Waterproofing. They came in and within 2 days they dug out a trench inside the basement and put their waterproofing system in. they also put a new pump with battery backup in case of power outages. This year we have had record falling rains and I want everyone out there to know that we have not had a "Drop" of water in my basement since they put their system in. After procrastinating for several years and becoming accustomed to feeling some mild dread whenever forecasts predicted rain totals of any significance, I decided to go with Keller for installation of perimeter drains. I have no regrets with my choice to finally make the decision to get the work done, and no regrets about choosing Keller as the company to do the work. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous, including during the original estimates and also the work crew. The project was completed in a very timely manner and was the work done was in line with the plan, both in terms of the work that was done and the price estimate. We have a fairly new home, 3 years old, that developed several cracks in the foundation. We wanted to get them repaired before water started coming in although we were a little apprehensive about working on our newer foundation. I called several foundation repair companies who told me that they repair the cracks only from the inside, not the outside. This seemed odd to me since I felt the elements could still get in from the outside and widen the cracks again. I was also given quotes over the phone, a couple without even sending pictures. When I called Keller Waterproofing, Jim Keller made an appointment to come out and actually look at the foundation. He was very professional and thorough making a diagram detailing what needed to be fixed . He explained everything informing me that they would dig down to the base of the foundation, repair the cracks and apply a waterproofing material. They would also seal the cracks from the inside. He also suggested installing pop emitters to carry the water from the downspouts through buried pvc pipes away from the house. Jim stayed in touch with updates on when we could expect the work to begin. The crew that arrived were prompt and very professional. They worked steadily digging everything out by hand and completing the repairs as explained. They were very careful about putting the landscaping back the way it was including removing and replacing cobblestones on our patio. They finished sooner than expected and cleaned up so well that you couldn't even tell they were there. All in all, they did an Excellent job from the first phone call to our last in which Jim asked if we were satisfied with the work.
