Then they came in, destroyed the whole old steps in one day, and build a whole new frame for them out of concrete (not sand), cinderblock, and cinder bricks. Then we can go to Value: The estimate for the work was incredibly reasonable for 5 days worth of work for 3 people. So much precision in the joints, in the alignment of the blue stone, and in the stairs. Our back steps get A LOT of use, and there is a water\ice leak over them that causes a lot of trouble. The new steps were re-designed to shed water so that this problem is rare. I am so happy with them!

I sealed the bricks myself , and will haved to hire someone reliable next spring to do the proper repair.

Eligio proposed several materials and adjusted them in line with the specific features we were looking for. We wanted a surface that would be both stable under the specific conditions (directly up against the foundation of our house and next to the sloping retaining wall, but also more porous than the asphalt. Eligio and his crew did a meticulous job to make sure the ground was properly regraded to improve water flow away from the house while making the surface more porous (hence the wider spacing between the cobblestones. He also adapted the design so I could have some planting space between the wall and the cobble stone. We were impressed with the crew's diligence and efficiency. Given the particular challenges and materials we were looking for, I consider the price to have been very fair.

And we have seen some of the work they have done on larger jobs elsewhere. One of the best things about these folks is the fact that no job is too small. I can't tell you how many times I have asked others about a job and they won't even call you back. Dave Newhouse and his crew are very professional. They will take on every job (that I have seen anyway), always call you, show up on time and keep you in the loop. Pricing has always been fair and competitive as I have never had cause to wonder if I can find a better prices elsewhere. Quality of work is excellent. This is top notch professional work. Perhaps best of all - Dave and his team are very nice people. You will really like working with them. I really do not have something negative to share here. I have used them for a half dozen jobs and all have been 5 stars.

The guys they sent to do the demo work were unqualified and made a mess of my yard and the drip edge of my roof issue mangled in many places (Chris said it would be straightened then just hid it behind the gutters). Luckily the roofing crew finished the work they started, but it still didn't come out great. I've got multiple gaps that have formed around the fascia boards and gutters that are all messed up now, with water getting behind them in multiple places. There are wasps currently building nests in the gaps they left. I've called, texted and sent messages to Chris (the owner) through Yelp and he hasn't responded once and apparently doesn't stand behind his work. They also found a roof issue while they were doing the fascia boards that required them to remove a section of the roof and repair it, and while I haven't noticed any issues with it yet I'm nervous about the quality of it after seeing how the fascia boards turned out. They were supposed to replace the soffit reveal where they replaced the roof but never did, and I found a piece where they were supposed to install pvc fascia material is actually just a piece of tin cut to that shape. The soffit reveals all around the house are also uneven in a lot of places. I ended up having to buy a roofing magnet to pick up the hundreds of nails they left behind in my yard. I tried to give Chris the opportunity to make this right, but he won't answer or return any of my calls or messages. I would not recommend using Oakwood Roofing.
