The project took about a week to complete, which was faster than initially expected, and the quality of the work was exceptional. I've been an architect for 30 years so I've inspected a lot of construction work and I can honestly say that the retaining wall exceeded my expectations in every way. I expected to get a replica of the original wall but got something far better in both appearance and quality. The team of masons were courteous and finished the project without skipping any days. They also cleaned up every day and left my yard cleaner than they found it when the project was finished. All of my immediate neighbors have complimented me on the wall and I expect to get many more when boating season on the lake begins next May. I solicited multiple bids for the wall project and selected AJ Masonry because they were the most informative and responsive to changes related to the Lynn Conservation Commission and Building Department. They were not the lowest bidder, nor the highest, but they were worth every penny. I can highly recommend them without hesitation.

He was quick to come see the job, prompt in providing an estimate, patient when I didn't respond right away. He insulated the walls, put a rubber liner under the new tiles to keep moisture from seeping up, and added a really nice detail of molding. It looks great. The quality of materials used and the visual appearance is great, better than I envisioned. I have found Stefano and his crew are very professional, respectful, and careful. I highly recommend Stefano Torcasio and his team from my experience with this project and a much larger renovation of an underground garage, with masonary wall and stairs.

My correspondence with Jackie their office support was fantastic comparing against others. She was quick on email and I had an appt booked for an estimate within a week or two as it was spring and the weather was getting nice. Joey showed up, took a video, and I had my estimate in hand in a day. He listened to exactly the look and product I wanted used. It was not an easy cookie cutter patio. Their price was in line with the other 3 estimates I got back for the same project. The project started fast because it was going to be a 4 day job so they fit it into a slot of space they had. Within another week or two they had the crew come excavate my backyard patio area and demo my walkway that was concrete and needing replacement. The excavating team was about 5-6 guys and they worked quick to go deep for the patio. Next day they were installing the paver I chose which was a Unilock Copthorne paver. It had to be hand blended and I wanted a herringbone pattern. The backyard patio was a 90 degree herringbone and the walkway was a 45 degree herringbone. Both came out fantastic. His guys were so good especially the ones they are blending and wet sawing all the edges. They work so well together and their team is really professional. I would highly recommend them for your backyard needs like patios, walkways, bbq, fire pits, hardscaping etc.

Upon further investigating the issue it turned out that the extent of the damage was greater than appeared on the surface as the post had completely rotted through, the wall had pulled away from the deck and the foundation underneath had crumbled. Despite the amount of work involved, John remained honest and fair as he provided me with several options and worked with me and my budget to get the best result possible to meet both my expectations as well as his high standard of quality. I am beyond pleased with the final outcome! They managed to get the entire side of the porch torn down, the foundation properly repaired and then have it all rebuilt and tied back into the existing stairs and porch within just a few days. I'm cool if he took time but I have had to reach out to him every time to get his crew to come do the job right. I don't think I should be chasing him. I'd be OK if he gave me a date for work but he hasn't. I think I hired him Fall 2024. He started work in Spring 2025. I've posted some new photos of issues. I'm posting ones that are easy to see on camera. There are various places where tapping on the stucco returns a hollow knock. Frustrating.
