We called Mr. Argiro and within a couple of days, he came out to our house to assess the situation. We live on two acres but only needed about a quarter of that space to be reseeded. In all, I know this is not a huge job but it is a job nonetheless. The owner was initially very attentive, he took a walk around the property with my husband and then said he would get back to us with an estimate. We waited....and waited...and waited. Then we called. We got the answering service with whom we left a message. No response. We called again and again. After 3 calls with clear messages left with the answering service we never heard from the owner again. We surmise it was not a "big enough" job for this guy to bother dealing with. We were not asking him to do anything other than to hydroseed a portion of the lawn and to care for the lawn until new growth was established. Needless to say we are disappointed in his "ghosting" us. It is very unprofessional and rude. Therefore, I cannot recommend bothering to call this company for anything. As the owner should know, sometimes smaller jobs that are well-done lead to bigger jobs down the line and certainly lead to recommendations. Major fail here.

On the day of the job, Rudy and Marlin worked tirelessly for 3 1/2 hours and got a tremendous amount done - trimming multiple hedges and bushes, cutting back an almost dead lilac, power washing the patio (it looks as good as it did 15 years ago when it was installed), cleaning moss, etc. off the garage roof (hadn't been cleaned since I got the house 30+ years ago), cutting up and removing a fallen branch, and power washing a basketball backboard that I wasn't even sure could be reached. He came by, and I gave him an overview of what my condo was looking to achieve. Our front garden was a mess with weeds growing as tall as me. We also had weeds growing along our back yard fence line and a garden where my previous neighbors were planting flowers. The rear garden bed was filled with rocks too. Aroldo advised that his team can remove all of the weeds in the 3 locations, put down fertilizer and mulch and even a cloth to prevent weeds from coming back. He also indicated that he can use the rocks to create a barrier of the garden beds in the front and back. He provided some options, but we ultimately decided on the basic package. He even agreed to transfer flowers over from the back to the front, and promised to remove some branches on the side of the house that was blocking the pathway. His team came and did a fantastic job. My condo neighbors, my wife, and I are so happy with the job that Aroldo's team has done. We have nothing but great praises. We look forward to hiring him again in the future.

After several attempts to just hire Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction (during a bid process),…read moreI finally did. The rates seemed comparable, at first. However, there were many projects to be completed at my deceased mother's house. Because I am disabled and not able to get to the property, I couldn't see how badly I was taken advantage of. Not only did I pay for a job they did not do, I also paid for another job that is unfinished, plus a french drain that is causing a sink hole, and the buried equipment is now above ground. All 3 of these projects pose safety risks. The french drain collapse is only 6 months after installation. After bringing these issues to the owners attention (the unfinished project I'd requested be completed for months), the owner began ignoring me. When I mentioned that litigation was going to move forward, the owner said he'd look at the work that week then blew me off again. When they actually do work, Golden Hill's quality of work is atrocious and will need to be fixed. They broke the house vinyl siding when cutting down a tree branch and refused to fix it. I hired a contractor to fix that. They will overcharge (snowplowing is expensive), take advantage of you if you are a senior or disabled, and will try to get paid without working. They should not be in business and allowed to take advantage. I now have to pay someone else to fix their work, finish their work, and do a $375 job they never did. They've been paid over $10,000, with more work to be done at multiple properties. They agreed to do a quote at a second property, then never showed up. One would figure, with that kind if business, a company would want to perform quality work and respond to a dedicated customer. Aroldo at Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction will do a poor job or not at all, blow off appointments, ignore requests, and refuse to fix problems. He will, however, not hesitate to pick up a check. You should not ever hire them. If you do, be prepared to throw money away.

His crew did the work the day after with Gleison working alongside. They were efficient, professional and did quality work in just a few hours cleaning up the entire front and backyard of pine needles and leaves and then mowing, aerating and seeding at a very reasonable price.
