They never would provide a paper or email quote even after asking multiple times. They would come every day for approx. 1-2 hours per day and the job was completed in 3 WEEKS. toward the last few days and I was getting very frustrated and they stopped taking my calls, my wife finally borrowed a cell phone and they answered it, she waited for them so she could point out the things that they had neglected to finish. The verbal bid had them moving all the furniture at 8 am the first day, they showed up 4 hours late, I had taken the day off to keep an eye on them and got mad and moved all the furniture myself. they told me they would take it of the bid, but found a way to add more to the bid and recouped that. Honestly they did a good job on the carpet and they should stop there. On the laminate flooring, they ran out of staples on the sub-floor in one large are and one small area. They butted the laminate up tight against the wall, not leaving any gap, the non stapled area began to buckle bad when the season changed. They didn't put any molding on the sliding door to the 3 seasons porch, they just ran the laminate up tight against the door jam. On the door leading to the garage, they didn't put any molding, just used brown caulking. I ended up hiring another flooring installer to, pull up the laminate and staple the sub floor down, trim the boards against the wall and place molding on the sliding door. I tried to call Henry a couple of times and text him what it was going to cost to have some one else to repair, wanting to get this resolved, he would not respond to my calls or text. I would not recommend Henry at A-1 Carpet for installing laminate flooring EVER!! He was higher priced than most and initially I asked him about this, he responded that he did quality work and ran his business on his reputation. I found this to be pretty much a joke. If you're not in a hurry he does an adequate job laying carpet. Get your quote in writing on paper.
