I had a great experience with Kleen Rite. I was recommended to use Kleen Rite by my furnace maintenance company & oil provider, Sound Oil. I left a message & Joe returned my inquiry call promptly and made scheduling quick and easy. The day of service I was called by the operator (John) to give me a heads up when he expected to arrive and asked where to park the vac truck. When he arrived John came in and quickly assessed the furnace, ducts, and vents throughout the house before getting started. Be advised, there is quite a bit of noise between the vac truck running outside and blasts of pressurized air while cleaning. The service was very thorough, John went from room to room cleaning each vent and vent cover inside and out. John also did a great job cleaning up after his work and gave some simple advice to help improve the air quality, (buy better furnace filters). I'll use them again. read more

We had our heater and AC ducts cleaned. John did a great job. He was very efficient and kept everything very clean and tidy. He and his partner (who made the appointment over the phone) were both very easy to communicate with. What made the visit actually fun was that John shared that he had grown up in our old house! (Built in 1910.) We have made a lot of changes, so it was fun to have him see those and for him to share stories from times previous to our purchase 29 years ago. If I had a giant vacuum truck, I would go to Italian restaurants and sneak the big vacuum hose in the back door to steal pasta sauce. Then, I would pass it off to my friends as homemade. Unfortunately, I don't have a giant vacuum truck. Which is why I also was unable to clean my own HVAC vents. Kleen Rite Kleener's sticker was on the furnace in the house I just bought, but I really dislike it when people misspell things on purpose, so I called Greenwood Heating instead. Greenwood quoted me a price of $650 + tax. Ouch. So, I looked beyond my upturned nose and decided to call Kleen Rite Kleeners. Joe, the owner, was very friendly. He told me his prices are $249-265 for the standard service. He also told me that he could use these crazy whip things to shake loose all the fuzzballs in the vents for $450-550. The elderly woman who used to own the house had several dogs and some really swank shag carpet, so I knew we needed those fuzz removers in a bad way. Joe was about to make a load of money off of me, but, get this! He suggested I SAVE some money by just doing the whip things in the cold air intakes. It only added $50 to my bill and took care of the fluffy junk floating around our house... all for HALF the price Greenwood was going to charge me. I'd say Joe is a terrible businessman, but clearly, I don't understand business because here I am, writing a 5-star review on Yelp. And, I'm not sure you know this, but... I'm kind of a big deal. Very positive experience, would recommend. To attempt (*and fail) to make a long story short, we moved into a house that had been foreclosed, had some issues, heat wasn't working, etc. The company we hired to install a heating system failed to mention the possibility of needing to clean the ducts, and when the arrived to install the system said, "you're good to go, except you really shouldn't use the heat until you've cleaned your ducts, they're the dirtiest we've ever seen, why didn't you hire us to clean them for you first?" INFURIATING. I went looking for alternatives in the area and fast, because it was cold! I spoke with Joe over the phone, explained the situation and felt respected and listened to. He was able to schedule a tech to come out within a few days. When the technician arrived to do the actual vaccuuming, he was right on time, and called me in advance like I requested so I could leave work to meet him at home. He did the whole process, and as he was packing up, I noticed there was still some gunk in one of the vents. I asked him about it, and he immediately came back into the house and checked everything, and turns out the static electricity that had built over the years made a lot of the gunk harder than usual to remove, but was hidden in the ducts and did not appear to stick in the visible parts of the vents. He immediately set everything back up, used a whipper thing and did the whole thing again with a lot of extra attention. At first I was a little nervous about how much it was going to cost me, but when I received the bill, it was all UNDER the original price I had been quoted under the phone. (Which was $200 cheaper than the heating company had offered to do it for me.) Also, he gave me a lot of frank honest advice about our new heating system and how to avoid having to call him to come out in the future by just changing filters on a regular basis, which I thought was very honest. I am renting and these guys came out the very next day to clean my furnace and vents. The serviceman taught me how to change my filter and light my pilot light on my old and tricky furnace. Extremely helpful, very polite, and also thoughtful about things like removing shoes in my house and warning about the sound as I have a toddler at home. I am giving them 5 stars!! They went above and beyond to start my furnace! No running furnace during the summer was okay. An oil furnace is not that easy to service these days. I was really worried I'd have to replace my furnace. I had the repairman out in the spring. Yup, there was soot everywhere and he refused to do any service until it was cleaned. He felt it might be the heat exchanger. Yikes, that took me into the end of summer​ to prepare for the cost. But who to call to clean it? Not many will have anything to do with an oil furnace! I was referred to Kleen Rite. I've had some bad experiences with service people so, I wasn't sure what to think. I have a number of things that make just getting to my place a challenge. Ronald arrived up at the house with a smile ready to do his job. I informed him that the heat exchanger may be cracked. After inspecting the soot he felt it was not the exchanger. He explained the soot wasn't the type you'd get from that. Ronald did a great cleaning job. He was very informative and even fixed a small hole. It was ready to be started. He didn't start it thinking it was out of oil. Come to find out, there was 1/2 a tank. If it would have been started I'd give all 5 stars... It's been cold with no heat for a few days! I'm still waiting for the repairman to start the thing! I tried to give 4 1/2 stars but it doesn't seem to do that. Ronald was very good and I felt safe with him. I've had a lot of experiences where workers have taken advantage of me since I'm a senior and on acerage. I am giving them 5 stars! I must add, Joe the owner, and Robert both came out to my place earlier this evening, when I told them the repairman wouldn't come up my flooded driveway. It only took Joe a few minutes to realize the thermostat had been disconnected by the repairman when he come out a number of months ago. Called and spoke with Joe who explained the costs and what their services included clearly. I have an oil furnace and Kleen-Rite has experience cleaning them. Jon showed up in the truck and proceeded to clean the air ducts and return vents while being friendly and polite. There was a lot of junk in my air ducts from the previous owners/tenants and all of that is gone now! The noise from the cleaning was not bad, I was in the house the entire time during the cleaning. Jon also chatted about the furnace, the ducts, and was a delight to talk to. Plus, he has a great name. I am having my oil heater cleaned as I write and I sure hope he is doing a good job because this guy is not at all friendly. I don't think he wanted to come to work today or something. He did not introduce himself just said where is the heater. He does not seem to be wearing a uniform just jeans and a shirt so if he was not driving this truck that says Kleen Rite on it I would not know him from anyone else. I am not feeling very comfortable with the decision to use these guys but Genesse Heating recommended them. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful about this company. We received a reminder call a day before our appointment and when the work technician was delayed by only a few minutes he called to tell us. Our technician safely cleaned and vacuumed our furnace and cleaned up after himself every step of the way. He was mindful, respectful and engaging. Responsive -- the gal who helped me -- Lisle (sorry, I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong) got me booked for an appointment quickly, and gave me all the pertinent details -- cost ($249 - 269), the need for their truck to park close to the house (100 ft vac hose), how long it would take (about 1.5 hrs). 2. Friendly, informative (Joe & Josh) -- Joe gave me a look at a part CLOGGED with ten years worth of dust and junk, Also, let me know what to expect when I first ran the furnace again. 3. Experienced & thorough: Able to work on a 50 year old furnace without fear; climbed on my roof to be sure the chimney was properly cleared/cleaned. Cleaned up when they left. 4. And guess what? the prices and time required were exactly what I was told up front. That, my friends, is a great experience! read more

These guys "cleaned" my boiler and flue and the guy didn't go on the roof to get the top portion so 3 weeks later the firebox and flue caught fire and burned the house. We didn't have renter's insurance and these bastards wouldn't take any responsibility and lied to the investigators. Do not hire them under any circumstance, they did a lousy, lazy job and skated because we couldn't afford a lawyer. I couldn't figure out how to give them negative stars and had to give them 1. Didn't even offer to refund the $340 I paid them. They should be out of business. read more

When I called Kleen Rite Kleener I talked with Joe the owner on the phone. Very nice, professional and has been in the business a long time. He knows his stuff! He answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable about using his company/service. They have a truck mounted vacuum and all of the appropriate tools to do a great job. Similar to the other reviewer - Joe did not upsell me. Instead he told me how I could save money. Kleen Rite Kleener is the real deal - you don't need to look further. Josh - the technician that came out to do the job was on time, very professional, knows how to work on old houses, oil furnaces, answered my questions and left my house clean afterward. He took his time to do the job right. I can't tell you how nice it was to have someone like Josh do this important job in my house.
