I called looking for a quote on my townhouse. I have two rugs , two long runners, carpeted stairs, a short hallway and three small bedrooms. Gave me a timeframe (12-3) to arrive and called 30 minutes before. Professional booking the appointment, professional on the day of. Their performance on the job was great. Really, really thorough and attention to detail. The guy cleaning my place bought the company a while back from the previous owner, so I had the boss doing the job. Clean Carpets, but overcharged by $75+ I was quoted $156 for 5 rooms and $30 each additional space (quoted via Yelp). While they were cleaning, I added on a few extra services, so expected a higher bill. The cleaners were in my house for nearly 5 hours and very thorough but it was 9pm when they left and I had a toddler needing to sleep and didn't look over the bill closely in my rush. I was overcharged $75 over the quote. I contacted the service and have received no response, so buyer beware. They did a fine cleaning job but it was significantly more expensive than I expected. My advice - if you use this service and they have a Groupon, buy the Groupon. I thought I'd give a small business a break but it ended up constant me significantly extra. read more

I would give them a 5 for communicating and being on time. Where my issue is that the cleaning of some areas that I pointed out were missed or ignore. I called right away. I texted several times and no response. I ended up having to do the many spots they missed. I now am questioning was it really cleaned properly because you would think that the smell of a cleaned area after it dries would be awesome and it wasn't. I let it dry for two days and the smell was worse. I called left messages and texted with again no response from anyone. I was working downstairs pretty much the whole time and when I went up they were almost and it looked clean and I gave them a pretty good tip. Now I wish I didn't my bad....for not checking their work before they left. My price ended up going up because I asked for a few extra things which they missed.... I can't tell you if their carpet cleaning service is first class or not. I can tell you that their customer service is horrid. I called three weeks ago to make an appointment was was adamant that they book me for the first appointment of the day. The gentleman who took my call, Spencer, offered a couple days in the coming week that they had an early morning opening. A few days beofre they were to arrive, Spencer calls to inform me that they in fact couldn't make it that day because the employees had to attend an annual training class. Evidently, the individuals offering this training elect to wait until a few days beforehand to spring it on people. Oh, or perhaps First Class Carpet Service sucks at managing a calendar and schedules and such. Spencer offers to reschedule for later, but can only give me vague 4 hour windows of when his crew might show up. I politely requested that he reschedule the service at a time when he has the first appointment of the day open. That was to be today at 9 AM. Sadly, his crew must have had refresher training or another recertification, or are still getting coffee or some shit. They damn sure didn't show up to clean my carpet at 9 AM as promised. Although, with all of the training they do, they just might do well at carpet cleaning. Maybe someone should explain the whole calendar and scheduling concept to them. read more

My landlord has used this company for 20+ years to service the different properties she owns so I expected them to be professional. I was wrong. After receiving my bill for $500 (to clean and deodorize the carpet in two medium sized bedrooms and one very small living room) I called to ask why the rate was exceptionally high. Not only did the 'gentleman' (and I use the word very very loosely) on the phone tell me "that's life' and 'no one likes to pay for their mess but you have to" but he proceeded to tell me that they have absolutely no way of accounting for their services. If they tell you the carpet pad is apparently "soaked" with pet urine (and I only have a dog and a cat and neither are senior enough or young enough to lose control over their respective bladders) and they had to use 5 gallons of magic solution to clean it... then you pay them and say thank you. There is no proof, there is no way of verifying that what they're saying is true. You just have to take their word for it and cough up $500. Great way of doing "business". (making money) So I ask, if the apartments are serviced every time a tenant moves in and they've been the sole carpet cleaners for this apartment, can they check their records and make sure that the carpet had been cleaned before we moved in. No, they cannot. Their records are 'stored away' in a 'file cabinet' that the charming gentleman refused to check. First it was a file cabinet then, as he become more irritated that I continued to ask him questions, he said it was stored in some warehouse and there was no way of accessing them. I asked, wasn't the point of keeping records so that they're available for future reference if need be? And if he were not able to divulge information to me, I understood, but could he please tell me what the procedure was to access that information - do I ask a manager? do I ask the landlord to ask the company? What are my options? He says 'I don't know what your options are, I'm done with this conversation, this is a waste of my time.' And then hangs up on me. If you want to be swindled & yelled at and then hung up on, I HIGHLY recommend First Class Carpet Service. They're first class jerks. read more

Definitely not First Class Carpet Service ! First off, they gave us a 4 hour time frame, between 10-2. And they would call 30 minutes prior. I asked for a estimated time (1 hour-1.5) and said we had plans that evening before booking the appointment. 1:25 I texted to see where they were at since 2pm was the latest for timeframe. No answer, so 1:40 I call with no answer, then get a text that they'll be there in 45 minutes. 2:45 the guy finally shows up with an attitude and no explanation for being late. Really professional, thanks! 2 hours later he's done and after getting the groupon I thought he was good to go. Then he tells me we owe him 100 for the hallway? Because the the hallway since that was not included in the deal. The hallway is the since of my 2 15lbs dogs (TINY) but that's fine.. Handed him the card, we get the receipt and he leaves. On the receipt is says 50$ for the hallway, so I guess the 75$ extra on my recipe was just for his attitude!! Please don't hire this shit of a company !! read more

Worse experience ever. Do not ever get your carpets cleaned by First Class Carpeting Service. My first appointment was suppose to be in the evening before 8 PM and they were a no show. Then they rescheduled me for another day between 5-7 when i would be home, and called me almost 10 TIMES in a 10 minute period at 3 PM wondering why I wasn't there. I then called DAVID who was going to clean my carpets to tell him I thought I made it clear I would only be home by 5PM. I told him I was getting a little frustrated with how everything was going and he yelled at me and said "GO GET YOURSELF A REFUND THEN" and hung up! Frustrated.. Was quoted for $179 for up to 5 rooms to come out today (Tuesday 11/22/16) between 12-3... they didn't show up until 710pm!!! They still managed to charge me xtra $180!! Cleared several rooms of furniture in preparation for my "first class" carpet cleaning. No one showed. Called and left a couple messages. The calls went unreturned. Went to Safeway and rented a Rug Doctor. I suggest this company rebrand itself. My suggestion, "Do It Yourself Carpet Cleaning." read more

I think this company must be out of business. I have called and left my phone number for a call back at least 6 times at their various phone numbers and have never received a reply. I had used their service in June to treat some stairs and they forgot to leave the bottle of cleaning fluid as promised. Although I was told that it was going to be sent or dropped off at my home, I've received nothing nor have I had any response to my calls. Would have given -10 stars but had to give it one for the sake of posting this. Everything about scheduling an appointment went great! I called the day before to ask a question and was treated kindly. Then, the day of the appointment David did not call between 11am-1pm to let my parents know when he would be arriving, as he agreed he would. I tried calling him and left a voicemail. 2:10pm he called my parents to tell them he would be there soon as he was leaving Auburn. 2:45, still no sign of him. At this point my parents were fed up waiting and had plans for the evening. I called to tell him his services would no longer be needed. He tried to plead with me. I apologized and stood firm with my decision. 10 minutes later he showed up at my parents house, AFTER I told him NO. He pleaded with my parents whom politely explained they would have been willing to work something out had he called to let them know he was running late. But since he didn't, they no longer wanted his services. He proceeded to tell use profanities at my dad. David slammed his van door and shouted f**k you at my dad as he sped off in their 55+ community. In addition to this review, I am going to file a formal complaint with the better business bureau! read more

He was on time and called ahead to let us know he was on the way. Spencer was great and did a great job and he may have secured Lucy our cats living situation. These guys know how to get carpets clean in an instant! My roommate got the Groupon deal for 5 rooms and I came home to brand new looking carpets. Keep in mind that there are multiple dogs that were raised in this house from when they were puppies; you can imagine the messes they created. But seriously in and out within 30 minutes. They even had the courtesy to mention some spots that they might not haver been able to get out however they were virtually gone by the time they left anyways. I would highly recommend these guys the next time you need a deep carpet clean! read more

I hired this company to do my hardwood floors in my living room, kitchen, dining room and one bedroom. I also paid to have the carpet cleaned in the master bedroom. According to my contract they were going to bring two people to move all furniture. They did NOT send two people, they send only one and to my horror when I looked under the beds and furniture they didn't clean underneath. It was not clean anywhere. They explained they only do walkways and high traffic areas. REALLY? They said they would deduct money for even breaking a few things. When we got the bill they added the deduction to the estimate then deducted it. It actually cost us more. We paid a lot of money and then they tacked on more! Oh and this is the best part. The one single guy that showed up had me help him move the living room furniture that was moved and I pulled out my back. Final insult was he just up and left and all my chairs and tables were out in the yard. This company is a scam! A rip off! They should be put out of business. My house is a mess and they even charged for doing an area rug they said they would do for free since I had to do all the heavy lifting. That rug was ruined! It now looks like a warped record. When I called to complain to the manager he was rude and five minutes later the guy who did the floors called back screaming at me. I handed the phone off to my husband and he was still screaming and screaming. No customer should have to take that after everything they own was ruined. Reason for the mess given. As a property manager, I have used First Class Carpet Service for more than 20 years. I have always found them to be reliable, easy to work with, and they do an exceptional job of cleaning tenant-abused carpets. The scheduling time is reasonable, and they are dependable about keeping the appointment and always call ahead. They have been able to remove stains (even red ones) and save me from having to prematurely replace carpet. For the one concern I had about a still dirty carpet, their response was to come back out and re-clean it to my satisfaction at no charge! On top of all this, their rates are reasonable. A huge stain that was here when we moved in and could not be removed by the prior professional cleaners (as well as our own efforts) was completely removed and the carpet now looks like new! We needed a large area rug done that had not been cleaned for a long time. First Class did a great job! There were spots they pre-treated before they did the general cleaning and those spots are now gone. They showed up on time, were courteous to deal with and I would recommend them to my neighbors and friends. read more
