Stumbled upon this new bakery while in the area and they did not disappoint! Even though they just opened a few days ago, it was packed. The space is clean and airy and the service friendly. They were running low on some items, but that was to be expected due to the long line. I was told that in the coming days, weeks they will expand their offering and add items like bagels, cupcakes and cookies. The cake presentation needs a lot of work. The colors bleed into the icing. I asked for roses & balloons. The roses look horrible & I didn't get any balloons. I asked for 55TH but I received just 55. The cake itself was absolutely moist but it was uneven & the icing cracked on the sides. As long as they hire someone to do the decorations next time, I will definitely order again. While I was there I grabbed some cherry turnovers & they were very good but they were overcooked on the bottom & corners. You could taste that. KKP is a mostly donut bakery. They had a lot of associates on hand to keep asking when I was ready. I told them it was my first time in and needed a moment to look at the selection. They didn't have names or prices on any of the baked goods. I finally ended up choosing a red velvet cake donut and and a long john. Neither looked very appetizing but wanted to give them a try. The red velvet was surprisingly good. It was smaller and didn't feel super sugary. The long john was underwhelming and dry. I ended up throwing it away. Thankfully they weren't too expensive. Stopped in last Friday in the afternoon, let me just say the cases were still very full and ready. I went ahead and purchased six complexly different doughnuts. Each in there own way was perfect. I really wanted to try the pecan sticky rolls, however when I went to add this as my last of the six was informed they are only sold in four and six. Next time for sure.. I also wanted to take a minute on those incredible doughnut holes. Oh my like I was eating little clouds of sweetness, definitely get you few of these, If sharing get a few more! I finally made it to KKP! I am a newer resident to Columbus. I am still on the search for the most delicious cake chocolate covered doughnut in Columbus. KKP did not disappoint, but still not the best chocolate covered cake donut. Everyone of these donuts I bought was very good. I especially loved the raspberry filled one!That was delightful. This place opened a few weeks ago so I've waited to try it as I assumed the lines would be long ( other reviewers have given this small business less stars because of the wait but to me that's common sense and they shouldn't be penalized for their popularity). I'm so glad we decided to try this bakery, it's amazingly delicious. Each thing we tried was perfect, and even though we went in the afternoon the donuts were light, soft, and fresh. Is it a bit pricier than Jolly Pirate? Yes, but their goods are of MUCH better quality and taste. You're paying for a superior product in every way. The owner was also very nice and when we asked if their treats might have come in contact with peanuts we were told that as of now they don't make anything with peanuts, but as they grow they would be adding more items that may contain peanuts. I'm just happy that for the moment my allergic kid can go to a bakery and get a treat. All in all this place is very clean, aesthetically pelasing, sells delicious bakery items, and has nice staff. I've been twice. The donuts and bakery goods are good but small for the price. Frankly, the donuts at UDF are better. I got 3 donuts and a cup of coffee and was over $12. Paris Baguette is a little more pricey but we'll worth the quality over this place. I tried asking about who made the baked goods and never got a real answer so not sure they are all freshly made there. Coffee is limited; nothing special. No seating when I was there. It was clean. Donuts were good but pricey. I ordered 8 donuts and they were $2.49 each I believe. I also ordered 6 sticky bun pecan rolls and I think those were about $14/6. The donuts were good but I don't think I would classify them as special. The sticky buns were excellent but not sure the cost is justified. My total bill was $32.51 for 8 donuts and 6 small pecan sticky buns (and a small tip). It's quality food but I'm not sure I would go out of my way again to get these. I had a red velvet glazed donut and a cherry turnover from KKP Bakery. The donut was the softest, most delicious donut I have every eaten. I love Jolly Rogers but KKP was better. The turnover puff pastry was so well layered and puffy. The cherry filling was sweet and a little sour...just right...better than anything you have probably had before.
