Don't eat here if you're on a budget! They will suck out all your money. My family and I came here for my husband's birthday not too long ago. It was the worst experience we've ever had dining out at places like these. The Menu was the most confusing part because they do not explain to you properly how this "gimmick" works. Each person is $25 per head. You get to pick three choices of meat that are unlimited and all you can eat. Unlimited of sides as well. But that's only for you to eat. You get this big portions of food that you're not allowed to take home because you have to pay $10 If there's left over food that you didn't finish. But know this, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHARE YOUR FOOD. If you share it, the other person also has to pay $25. I felt so bad for my stepdad who wanted to try a piece of chicken from my plate and was not allowed unless he pays $25 for himself. Don't even get me started on staff. Now I've work many years in customer service and hospitality industry and they've always trained us to be welcoming towards guests and make them feel at home. When we first walk in the door, the host pointed to our table. Never smiled, never even say "Hi how are you all doing tonight?" Nothing. Now I understand in some Asian cultures they're quiet and shy. Which is fine. But this is a restaurant a place of business. If you want it to succeed you have to provide the best customer service in a high volume fast paced environment. Our waitress was okay. She smirked and laughed at us when we asked questions about the menu that we didn't understand. She acted like we were ignorants and failed to provide accurate information. By the end of our dinner, she split the bill. We noticed that in our receipt we were charge food that we didn't order. She assured us that the computer made a mistake and it confused us all. Went with a couple of friends yesterday during their soft opening and we all got the standard package ($23.95) and some cheese corn. We had to wait around 45 minutes to be seated because it was pretty crowded when we went during a Saturday night.The cheese corn tasted alright, it was savory yet sweet at the same time. We got the brisket, bulgogi, and pork belly and they were all pretty good. Service was very slow but I could definitely tell that it because it was a soft opening and they were still training their staff and servers to be efficient. Our waiter was really slow but very nice and friendly so we could tell he was making a genuine effort. Ok so I came here the other night and walked out on them after I had a waiter serve my daughter a dish that had crab meat in it. I told him 4x thatshe had serious seafood allergies but he still served the dish with no regards. This was opening night. That being said, I returned 2 days later only because I still was curious to try their food. I normally have to drive all the way to university district to get my Korean dishes. My favorite korean bbq to go to in eugene. But let's be real, there isn't too many choices out here. But this is def my go to spot. It's spacious & has comfy seating. Staff are always very friendly & attentive. They provide good quality meats & a variety of side dishes (mainly vegetables). They offer different packages as far as what foods you can get in each. Big fan of KBBQ and Kkoki is what you would expect a classic joint to be, which is exactly what Eugene needs. The AYCE options have plenty of selections and are good quality. The thick and thin plain pork belly and thinly sliced beef briskets are of course classics--I recommend trying those first if you're new to KBBQ. I also really like the Hawaiian Beef. The marinated options are also tasty, but in general those are sweeter and I prefer savory tastes. My tip would be that you gotta ask for some of the extras. A classic way to eat the brisket or pork belly is to wrap it in leaf lettuce, but you have to ask for that. I also really like the sesame oil with salt sauce for the meat, which didn't come automatically either. A lot of these small extras are included in the price, which is good! The service is also very good. I went once during a slow period, and we got everything we needed and were checked in pretty often. I also went during a busy time, and while the check ins were understandably not as frequent, we still received our orders in a timely fashion after we placed them. This is the best Korean Barbecue restaurant in Eugene! I'm so glad a new place has finally opened up. My friends and I have gone more than three times since they opened. One night we went in with a larger party (10 people) and they were very accommodating. Kkoki also has a great selection of meats and a wide variety of sauces. The prices are also very affordable, especially compared to the other Korean Barbecue restaurant. Kkoki also has very good soju cocktail drinks. One of the workers makes a really good strawberry lychee soju cocktail mix! The best thing about this restaurant is the service! Came by today with a group of friends and was surprised to find that there was no wait considering it's the weekend and they had recently just opened. They have several all you can eat packages available (standard, premium, supreme) with more meat options available at each level. We all got the standard all you can eat ($23.95 for 20 kinds of meat), which basically have all the basic meat options available like bulgogi and samgyeopsal (pork belly). The only caveat is that you can only order 3 cuts of meat at a time. But you can always order more once you're finished with your order. You wouldn't want to over order and risk not finishing since they do charge extra if you leave leftovers. There is a 2 hour time limit on the grill (which I think is plenty) with a 30 minute warning before the time ends. Within the 2 hours, we were able to try bulgogi, pork bulgogi, samgyeopsal, honey chicken, Hawaiian beef, and teriyaki pineapple chicken between 5 people. They do give you a generous portion and our favorite was probably the honey chicken and Hawaiian beef. While the standard package does come with unlimited side dishes, rice, and vegetables, this really depends on what they have in stock, same goes with the meat. Originally, we had wanted to order the calamari steak but couldn't because it wasn't available. Vegetable wise, we were only able to order zucchini, mushroom, rice cake, and potato. Now this of course is already a LOT of food, but just a heads up for those who may have expectations in mind. Maybe call in beforehand to ensure the items you want are in stock so you don't leave disappointed. The waiter that helped us was super friendly and did warn us that many of them are still in training and are still learning everything about the job. I appreciated his honesty and thought the service overall was great. Both the owner and waiter took turns checking in on us and helped us with cooking the meat, refilling our side dishes, and swapping the grill with a new one when it got super charred and greasy. The owner taught us how to use the overhead vent which helps to catch all the airborne fumes and grease which supposedly helps us smell less like kbbq? Not sure how effective it was but I don't think anyone in our party really mind. Overall, it was a good experience. Like most kbbq places the price is a bit steep but worth a try if you're craving kbbq and want a variety of meat options than just chadolbaegi (beef brisket) or samgyeopsal (pork belly). read more

We went on a date to here. We got the all you can eat. The owner promised for 4 rounds of food within 2 hours and we only received 2 rounds of food due to the closed kitchen. I have to say the food quality is good. The owner is rude and talk shit behind people since I understand Korean. I asked him can we get enough food and he mocked at me ask me how he can earn money if they give all the food they can eat to get full. But why you only serve the half of the food and call it all you can eat? I am just try to be honest with the restaurant. If you don't want people to eat all they can eat, just change the manu to 4 rounds and maybe only two rounds of food we would serve. When Covid happen everything basically Grubhub was our go to. I was craving noodles and my daughter dumplings so I decided that this would be the closet place to order from. The ordering was easy online and I put in the extra veggies I requested with my noodles plus the sauces. Well after $43 dollars my noodles we're just that oh with a hint of spinach on top and no flavor. My daughter didn't like her food which I knew she wasn't going to. So after waiting for years and years (except a disappointing jaunt to PTown) a decent KBBQ place finally opened in Eugene. Their banchan is good but the difference is the meat...so many choices it would give a vegan seizures. With so much to choose from we have tried all three AYCE offerings since they opened, we have not tried to very lowest price option though. As a testament, we have been there 5 times since they opened last month. I always leave feeling like I need a 4 hour session at Orange Theory...but never hungry and so far I have had no selection of meat that was bad. NOTE: When cooking the chicken, I recommend putting it on the outside ring however, if you leave it in the middle it will char and be a little dry. The prices are fairly standard, so understand that. We used to spend $120+ in Portland for KBBQ, we normally spend about $70 here, so for us a cost savings. read more

Kkoki softopened in mid November 2019. This place is located in River Road and I like that their parking lot is big and free. There was no wait to be seated although they were pretty busy (7 tables on a Tuesday). Their meat quality is so much better than other Kkoki places in Portland. However the only complaint would be slow service. It took us 20 minutes to get our drinks 25+ minutes to get our first plate of meat, second place took 15 minute or so. Because this place is All You Can Eat, and they have a time limit for 2 hours, I personally don't think Kkoki is a good spot for AYCE KBBQ. Definitely do not recommend for a big group because it would take forever for them to bring out anything. I've been to a fair-share of BBQ places, and all of them had what this place lacked: flavor. There was absolutely NO seasoning on the meats. Also surprised to see there was little to no options for any sides either. Sauces that came with the meat lacked any sort of flavor. There was no sort of sides as well. Im truly disappointed I came here for my birthday, out of town too just to be underwhelmed and at the end of trying to make do with the amount of money this cost.... Ended up with a horrible stomach ache that my partner also experienced. Didn't help that the service was also bad.. Waiters forgot our orders multiple times and we never ended up getting our wine. All in all, just terrible. My advice is save your money and go somewhere else. A little advice is once your done be sure to ask any staff member for more. They tend to be busy so you usually don't get the best service all the time. Since moving to Eugene I had many reservations about the "authentic cuisine" but were so ecstatic that we've been swayed to feel otherwise. It over 25 booths that can fit anywhere from 2-4, 4-6 and they even have larger booths in the back for larger parties. They have 3 different package deals for the all you can eat. The most expensive package does include my favorite cut of meat, beef tongue! The LA Galbi and Kkoki Galbi are also very good choices as well! I've been here probably 5 times (give or take) and the service always ruin the experience for us. they're open really late (I feel bad for the servers working at midnight) so I sometimes stop by if I'm craving kbbq, and this is my only option at that time. My first time here was probably a week or two after they opened. The owner wouldn't leave us alone and kept lecturing the customers on how to eat the BBQ "the right way". My family is Korean and I've lived in Korea for the majority of my life; we know how to eat kbbq. He was also super slow with refills but the owner was the only server at this time I think, so we hoped they would improve and decided to return again sometime in the future. However, no matter how many times I visit, the servers are always forgetful or slow. They don't refill quickly enough. People are sitting at the table waiting for more food, but it takes them 30 minutes to come back and check on us. And by that time we need mostly everything on our table refilled. I've also had a server telling me "don't ask for so much at once," but it was her fault for abandoning us and not checking if we needed any refills for 30 minutes. The restaurant had ONE other table. What was her excuse for not doing her job properly? She would also go over to the customers in the other table and just chit-chat instead of working. Not to mention how forgetful she was (selectively maybe?) making us repeat our orders 3 times and waste our time limit. read more
