I ended up booking with someone else, I told them so and they started offering discounts for me to book with them rather aggressively, they wouldn't stop texting me. I believe I blocked them for a while. Also their site is horrible to navigate through or find any information - it barely works on mobile.

I decided to walk in one day to check it out. Brian , who happens to be the proprietor, was at the front and greeted me. After a pleasing impromptu consultation, he fit me in around his morning appointments. Brian outstandingly cut my rather difficult straight and thick hair which disappointingly Is usually beyond the capability of many stylists. He completely highlighted my transitioning to mostly grey hair to lovely, realistic and warmer tones subtlety blended which minimized the heretofore dreadful harsh distinction of grey roots as they appeared as he had promised. Not sure exactly how he managed all of it and tied it all together, but his talent/technique allows for a far more gentle appearance of roots making it so much easier to maintain the color continuity needed when you lose your natural color. All this was accomplished quite expertly and efficiently and I walked out of Oya that first day with a gorgeous cut and color. Problems solved. I have consistently enjoyed the absolutely spectacular hair cut every single time. Rare to find. I have moved from Monterey and still , a few years later, continue to make the the drive up to Monterey from San Luis Obispo for my hair services as it is well worth the time and effort. Always a pleasure to be in this pleasant and professional salon. Everybody i have been in contact with always gives great effort toward the experience. A couple times a friend accompanied me on drive and after consulting with Brian and being directed to a selected stylist left extremely pleased.
