    Seafood Tofu Clay Pot
    Ron Q.

Currently the options at Harrah's are limited unless you want to spend an arm and a leg or get fast food. Been curious about KJ as it's always been busy the times we've passed by. Just so happened that there was no visible line and we had some time to spare. So, thought we'd give it a try. We were seated right away in the inside dining area. Took a while for our order to be taken. All the while we noticed servers rushing in and out of the kitchen area, dirty dishes dropped noisily into bus bins and staff literally shouting back and forth to and from the kitchen. This was all within 5 minutes of sitting down prior to our order being taken.... Had to flag someone down to take our order as we were in a bit of a rush trying to grab a quick bite prior to catching a show. We ordered the Seafood Tofu Clay Pot and a side of greens. Both to share. After ordering the noise and yelling continued. When the food came out we weren't overly impressed. The greens were good and crisp. Not over cooked. The clay pot needed more flavor. Was quite bland. They also charge for steamed rice. Most other Asian restaurants would offer the rice with a main dish being ordered. Not so here. Not quite sure what all the hype is about. Food is less than mediocre while there always seems to be a wait for dining in or take out. Keep on Yelp'n!

I visited KJ Chinese restaurant with my daughter on Monday and the food was really good. We really enjoyed our dinner, but I will say the service was not too great. Don't get me wrong. We got seated fairly quickly and they brought us water but after that we waited about 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink or food order. We were just sitting there waiting for us to get some attention. The restaurant was clean and once we finally ordered our meal came out rather quickly. I would say the prices are a little high, but that's only because it's in the casino, but it was definitely a good spot for dinner. I'd go back!

The expensive thing is of course a hotel casino, so I understand. There are so many servers, but I don't place an order. Not only us, but everyone who comes to order doesn't answer the order and doesn't come even if they shout and call. And it's the first time I've seen a server fighting with customers. Apart from the taste and price, the people who work here don't want to work.

    Deep fried flounder

Anytime I dine in KJ Chinese restaurant, Id always order the deep fried flounder. Its one of the best thing they served. The fried chicken is little on the plain side but it had a nice crunch. The white rice is little on the hard side. I feel like its not cooked all the way or it needs more water in it during the cooking process. I feel like I would have to bring my own white rice to enjoy it with my fried flounder. I would enjoy it more if the rice was cooked right. I can't complain much since the food is always free for me because I get to use my rewards credit I've been earning from Caesars.

12/01/2024. Potstickers ($10.95): extra crispy, 4/5 stars. Wor wonton soup ($25.95): tasted like top ramen but had tons of filling, 3/5.

We were surprised with the overall weak Yelp ratings here, as the food was delectable and the service was top-notch. 12/01/2024. Potstickers ($10.95): extra crispy with a burst of savory and herb flabors, 4/5 stars. Wor wonton soup ($25.95): this was the only letdown, as it tasted like top ramen but had tons of filling, 3/5 stars. Pork siu mei ($10.95): tender and juicy, 4/5 stars. Steamed bbq pork bun ($8.95): soft dough and tons of savory bbq pork, 4/5 stars. Pork chops with spicy salt ($23.95): not spicy, but tender pork with a slightly crispy batter, 4/5 stars. Bbq pork fried rice ($24.95): well-seasoned rice and we almost finished this dish despite the mountain of rice they served, 4.5/5 stars. Chicken in orange peel sauce ($23.95): slightly tangy and sweet that went well with the crispy batter, 4/5 stars. Our server seated us immediately upon arriving, took our order shortly after, and the food came out quickly. Our server inadvertently dropped one small piece of the pork chop; therefore, she apologized and stated that she will have it replaced, despite that we said there was no need to. She had returned with four pieces so I couldn't help but think that if she dropped the entire plate earlier, then she'd maybe replace it with a party tray =)

    Hearty serving of pho!
    Laura M.

Came here to try out their pho after a very alcohol filled weekend. Lol. I was a bit skeptical about pho being offered at a Chinese restaurant so I actually wasn't in high hopes. I was sure proved wrong though! The pho was actually good, it had a hint of Chinese flare to it though. The 5spices really was prominent in the broth and they're not stingey with the meats. The special had everything per usual. Beef, tripe, tendons& a little bonus of meatballs. The meat was a little different though. More of the stir-fry type of meat, but still good. Because it's there, I'd go again to try actual Chinese food though. Not all restaurants can pull off fusion cuisine& especially to the spoiled tastbuds. The service was a bit off due to language barriers.. all in all, we figured out everything in the end. Kinda. Not really. Lol.

Great food and service. Traditional Chinese cuisine similar to Chinatown restaurants.

I've been wanting to try this place because my cousin raved about the honey walnut creamy shrimp. One night I decided to dine here while staying at Harrahs. I ordered the egg rolls, fried dumplings and honey walnut creamy shrimp. The entree comes with rice. The food was just okay, nothing to rave about. I would give the honey walnut shrimp a 5 out of 10; decent portion. The flavor was not there. Customer service was just okay as well. It was not busy the night I went. Everything is just okay overall.

    Kung Pao chicken
    Ari R.

The restaurant is located inside Harrah's Hotel and Casino, offering both indoor seating and outdoor tables where you can enjoy views of the gaming action. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and the Crispy Sweet and Sour dish--both were flavorful, but the portion sizes felt small for the price. Our total for two dinners, with no drinks, including tax and gratuity, came to about $70. The Kung Pao Chicken had an overwhelming amount of onions compared to the chicken itself, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I'd rate the restaurant 3.5 stars.

Mediocre at best. Long lines, ordered for take out took an hour. Each item around $25. Just not good enough for the money or wait.

Because of this I've never been able to share the gloriousness that is a full seafood boil, especially a good one like Pier 88. The headless peel n' eat shrimp and crawfish, the true backbone of any decent boil, were plump and delicious. I felt kind of giddy every time I would finish one and saw how many were left. The lobster tail was a good change-of-pace and the king crab legs, admittedly not my favorite item, still managed to satisfy. I also like how they threw in so much potatoes and sausage into the mix. It was definitely super generous at what other places consider an afterthought. I thought the service was alright. They seemed to have forgotten one of my party's margaritas but that could have been more a slow bartender than an inept server. I also never got a prompt to refill my soda, which is a little more concerning. The ambiance was pretty good. There were plenty of tables and booths, and everything was spaced appropriately. You definitely don't feel like you're on top of the tables around you. They also had plenty of TV's as the World Cup was easy to watch along with. I could be happy here any time I get the craving for some shrimp and crawfish. And as long as the servers were more diligent about refills. One time I'll figure out how to get Miss Scotch herself to one of these things, dirty hands be damned. I'd say getting your hands in the muck and mire of delicious foods is half the fun. And with places like Pier 88 out there, you could be having a fun time and a full belly every day of the week.

We've heard a lot of great reviews, so we decided to try it out! Even though we did not have reservations, the staff was incredibly accommodating while Alexis took our name and phone number and asked if we were celebrating any special occasion or if we had food allergies. Tim, our host, took us to our seat and the absolutely wonderful dining experience started! What stood out most was the attention to detail. While upscale restaurants pride themselves on high-quality coffee and thoughtful accompaniments, this restaurant's level of service is not standard! They provided an elaborate carrier laden with regular and whip cream, honey, chocolate and sugar stir sticks and topped it off with a biscotti for their brewed coffee! From carefully addressing food allergies to providing impeccable service throughout the evening, every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortably mixed with guests dressed from casual to elegant - perfect for a special occasion. We enjoyed the $75 three-course dinner, and both the pork chop and barramundi were exceptional. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented from the start of the potato lentil soup of the day and the fig and burrata salad to the dinner entrees! Every bite was a celebration of flavor! A special thank you to our waiter, Luciano, whose attentiveness and professionalism elevated the entire dinner journey. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our evening. The highlight of the night was dessert. The presentation was done in such a thoughtful and meaningful way to recognize both our silver anniversary and a milestone birthday along with personally staff signed cards. I'm sure they do it for all their guests celebrating special events, but it made our already memorable evening truly unforgettable. This was more than just a great meal - it was an experience we'll always remember. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality.

And I put buffet in quotations because it's not actually a standard buffet, but more of a sit down "all you can eat". You need to be at blue card level (2nd tier level) to gain access to the buffet but they sometimes will let new people or red cards enter if they aren't busy. There's also a mandatory $8 (recently raised from $7) tip per person that's dining. If you're not black card (highest tier) you usually have to wait 1-2 hours before even being called to get in line. Then you have to wait in line 20-45 additional minutes before being seated. Black cards get to skip the initial wait and go directly into the line to wait to be seated. Once you're seated you get to choose a soup, salad, or both and then wait for them to bring you the food. Then you have to wait again for your server or try to flag one down to place another round of orders. On average my family has noticed people usually only do the appetizer round, one or two main rounds, and dessert because of the long service times. My family averages around 4-5 main rounds so we sit there for 3-4 hours sometimes with the majority of that time just waiting. The service is the main reason I say this place is hit or miss. If you get a nice and attentive server then everything goes great, but some of the servers are very noticeably there to just do the minimum amount for the job and that's it. Some servers will listen to your orders and actually tell you what additional options there are (like for the lobster tails we didn't even know until months later that we could get it with garlic butter or different sauces on top of it), and some even go and get the food to bring directly to you if they notice you've been waiting too long. Others.. will look around and barely hear what you're ordering and get the whole plate wrong or forget items for your order, resulting in you only getting 2 or 3 of what you asked for instead of the whole 4 that you're supposed to get. Or sometimes the opposite happens where they bring 2-3 of the same item on one plate and none of the other items that you ordered. It's already bad enough that most of the time, the servers only come to your table every 30-45 minutes so you're waiting an incredibly long time just to get one plate of food. The best times to go are definitely the weekdays very early right when they open (if you're not a black card) and the worst times are Fridays and weekends. They also have a recommendation to not have groups larger than 4 because they either split you up or you have to wait an extremely long time for a table to accommodate your group (because they only have 2 tables for large parties). They honestly should just turn the cafe dining room into an additional dining area for the buffet since that space goes wasted after they close and the cafe is literally right on the other side of the wall of the buffet. We've been coming here every other Friday for the drawings for almost 2 years now and the service is so inconsistent but the food is great! There has only been one time I was served a rancid lobster tail and almost threw up in the dining area. The menu changed last month and we tried the new tenderloin, it was absolutely perfect. But then a few weeks ago we tried it again and it was served well done even though we all asked for medium rare (and that's the last time we ever ordered the tenderloin because of that). One problem that happened the other day though was that the people doing the seating weren't seating any of the black card line. There were 8 tickets lined up and only 4 for the other line, but they kept seating the other side and kept putting up a new ticket. The group in front of us had 2 disabled people waiting for 30 minutes (and one of them was missing a leg). I felt so bad for that guy. The explanation was that "we have to follow the timestamp on the tickets to seat people fairly" but hello??? We're not blind. No one was being seated in the black card line for 30 minutes, even small groups of 2 that were in front of us started complaining. I don't understand the "timestamp" bs because we can actively see people getting in the other line, paying waaaay after the 3 groups ahead of us AND us, and still get seated before us. A group of 5 that paid after us in the general line got seated before any of the 3 groups ahead of us. It was just ridiculous but was a one off bad experience compared to the hundred we've had but thought I'd mention it. We still love coming to eat here because the food is great and consistent and almost all of us are black card members so we get food vouchers, but the service definitely needs some improvement or at least consistency equal to the food quality.
