We remodeled our house in 2010. I was having a very hard time deciding on which cabinet company to go with....there are so many of them...I must have paid in-depth visits to at least 7 or 8 other cabinet stores, both local shops and those selling out of state cabinets, before finding Kizanis Cabinets. Anyway it was both William Anderson, a wonderful designer, and John Seuss, a really good hardwood floor professional, who recommended I give Tim Rapley (owner of Kizanis Cabinets) a call. I was immediately sold after seeing their cabinets. You can tell the fine quality of their work by the look and touch of their cabinets. Tim Rapley, beside being an all around nice guy, was a real professional who knows to ask the right questions to get me the cabinet look that I wanted. For those of us who order cabinets maybe twice in our lifetime, we aren't going to know the various details that needs to be specified. For example, if you want the sides of your cabinet to look like the style of the doors instead of a flat panel, you have to say you want a finished end panel. If Tim didn't ask and explain that to me, it wouldn't have occurred to me that I have these choices. I am very happy with all of the cabinets that I ordered from Tim. As you can see from the pictures I attached, the cabinets are beautiful...I especially love the hood that he designed for me. Most of the pictures are of my kitchen, but I also included pictures of a bath vanity, and an entertainment piece for the TV. And to top it all off, his prices were less than the out of state cabinets like Brookhaven or Woodmode and about the same as the other finer local cabinet shops but his quality is so much better. In addition, I guarantee you that you'll have a easier time working with Tim than anyone else; he know how to build the cabinets so you don't waste a lot of time waiting for the designer to figure out how to configure some of the more unique cabinets. I must say that a lot these "designers" at the cabinet shops are really order takers and don't really know the details. If you are detailed oriented like me and are very particular about the end product, then you need someone like Tim. A lot of Tim's business are from interior designers and custom home builders so he has a good sense of what customers are looking for. By the way, this is the second time around for me ordering cabinets. I remodeled my mother's condo in 2006 and wasn't crazy about the custom cabinets from Lafayette Woodworks (the designer was inexperienced; one side of her two sided cabinet doesn't look as finished as it should be) or the Brookhaven kitchen cabinets from Premier Kitchens...the nature of the out of state modular cabinets just doesn't fit together as nicely as the local custom built cabinets. Remember I said that I already ordered two bath vanities before meeting Tim, well they were a nightmare. Even though I visited a number of other cabinet stores, I ended up ordering again from Brookhaven. One vanity broke in transit and it took them another 8 weeks to send the replacement. For the other vanity, some of the parts were bad and they kept sending more bad replacement parts until we finally gave up and used them anyway. So if you are thinking about out of state cabinets, keep in mind that they are more expensive (because we bought into their propaganda that the finishes last longer?) and that it can take forever if things go wrong. Local cabinet shops can fix problems so much faster. I almost forgot to mention that the shop manager Roberto is also a great guy. He was very careful, friendly, and knowledgable. I wanted narrow taper legs on a couple of cabinets like the bath vanity and entertainment pictured. But as I have baseboards and didn't want to cut into them, so he build the back legs about 3/4" from the wall so that the back of the cabinets can sit flushed with the walls. I ordered the following from them: white kitchen cabinets with a bench in the breakfast nook, a set of white cabinets for the dinning room, vanity for a bathroom (as I already ordered cabinets for my other bathrooms before finding Tim), cabinets for the den which included file drawers and bookcases and an entertainment cabinet for the TV in quarter-sawn oak, laundry cabinets in natural maple, two window seats with drawers in white, and a white linen cabinet recessed in the walls. Love them all. They provide so much more storage. He uses the best Blum hardware with soft close doors and drawers. The drawers all have under mounted tracks and glide so smoothly. I wish you the best of luck with your selection. If I ever have to do another remodel, I would definitely use Kizanis again.

Owning an older home comes with inevitable surprises, so we wanted a team who could problem-solve creatively. That's where Liran shined. We brought some ideas to the table, and he offered alternative solutions that made far more sense for how we live--solutions we loved. Designers were brought in to prepare plans and permits, and the work began. Our project manager, Adi, was one of the kindest, most attentive people I've ever worked with. He stayed in constant contact, visited the site frequently, and ensured every detail met extremely high standards. It became a running joke between us about changing their slogan to "quality you can afford"--he humored me, and it perfectly captures the team's approach. The craftsmanship from Flavio, the lead contractor, was exceptional. We didn't pick the easiest designs, but the finished primary bathroom shower tile is genuinely a work of art--everyone who sees it comments on it. We also can't forget "Muscle Memo", who handled all the heavy lifting--climbing through dusty attics, crawling under grimy crawl spaces, and tackling the toughest physical work. His effort made the project run smoothly and safely. Adding to the charm, the team brought their own portable bathroom, which hilariously became a little local attraction--neighbors and passersby would sometimes "need to go," and we all shared a laugh over it. LB went above and beyond by addressing problem areas that weren't part of the original scope, with no extra charge, just to ensure the house looked perfect. They even brought in a professional cleaning crew, leaving our home cleaner than when the project started--a rare and deeply appreciated touch. We are thrilled with the entire LB team and highly recommend them. They hit that sweet spot: exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful problem-solving, genuine care, a sense of humor, and high quality at a price we could afford. Truly impressive from start to finish.

I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

Prime Design & Build - Amazing bathroom

I hired Prime to renovate my kitchen - countertops, backsplash, cabinets, electrical, freezer, etc…read more They also helped install a new bidet toilet for me. Overall the experience was very good; Elijah and Bryan were super friendly and responsive. Eli was very patient and accommodating as we discussed several different potential change orders, from new windows to painting, to other misc. things that popped up. Bryan Luna was especially a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail and proactivity to solve any little thing I mentioned was definitely the highlight of working with Prime. Their contracted electrician, Hector, was great as well. I also think they did a great job building out a cabinet to fit our freezer next to the matching fridge. Their master carpenter managed to salvage our existing wood to make it match perfectly. Definitely better than what I'd expect from even a carpentry specialty contractor. I will mention that it wasn't without some snags. Prime deals in volume so they're very busy. I think because I had delays in sourcing a freezer I ended up not getting a dedicated project manager for some time. We had timeline issues made worse with holidays. This caused cascading delays which inevitably pushed back my move in date a few weeks. When I finally did get a new project manager, they ghosted me (later on I found out they had a family emergency). Eli had to step in again to help. Another thing is that their pricing is quite opaque. The estimate will break down prices by milestones, but they repeated told me that it's not a valuation of the milestone itself. This made it nigh impossible to understand if I wanted to contract out specific pieces of the project (e.g. flooring). Design was OK. I felt that the designer was very busy. Sometimes very responsive (5min replies), sometimes not responsive at all (no reply). I wish I had a better, more thorough back-and-forth session about the intricacies of the design. But we made do. Ultimately, the designer made a render and helped point us to some vendors, but from there we had to make our own selection alone (cabinets, handles, pendant lights, faucets, etc.). I did appreciate her presence when we picked out countertops, though. All in all, I think this was a 4.5 star job, but I'm rounding to 5 because of Eli and Bryan :)

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

We plan to hire them again next year for additional work in the spring/summer, and I'll be happy to update this review then. Skill: They are truly skilled carpenters (Brendan, Zach, and Sam), which feels rare these days. While I don't do woodworking myself, I can certainly recognize and appreciate quality craftsmanship. In several areas, Zach and Sam came up with creative solutions to ensure water would not sit on the wood. They also discovered additional dry rot during the project and always consulted with us and obtained approval before proceeding. They worked non-stop--even in the cold!
