I had high expectations after a friendly conversation with them to book my appointment. My dog got a little dirt on my white linen chairs and I wanted to clean the chairs and do a stain protectant. However they failed to meet my expectations and I will not use them again and do not recommend them. - Did not call 30 min ahead of time like they said they would. - Weren't able to get a minor, 2 day old dirt stain out, seemed to make a different mark worse. Their "cleaning" didn't seem to really do anything at all honestly. My chairs are 9 months old and in great shape besides the minor stain I needed removed so this should have been an extremely easy task. - Was told before booking my appointment that there would be no fumes as they use all green products and this was important to me since I am 7 months pregnant. Appt was made in March 2021, and confirmed day before appt, but day of appt I was told by dispatch the appt would have to be rescheduled to April 2021. April 2021 same thing happened. Move forward to Sept 2021. Appt was set twice, but still cancelled. Sept 25 appt was set from 8-10 window. I was told Orlando, assigned technician would come to me first because the manager said he lives minutes from, which will not be a problem and she see I am priority because I have been trying to get my carpet cleaned since March. Well is Sept 25 and the same thing is going on. At 8:44 am I called Rebecca, who is the manager today. She stated, "Oh her dispatch team just told her Orlando can't come during my time slot because he was sent to another location." I am pissed at this point. She stated he come today between 1-3. I told her I need it done today because I have been waiting for six months. The only thing I get from staff is "I am sorry." I told her I am the fool because I keep having faith in your company. KIWI quoted me for some air duct cleaning at about $300 ... this was in May of 2011. A few months later, they sent me a letter for an additional 10% off. After that, I got another letter for a 20% discount off my initial estimate. Finally, in January 2013, I called to make my appointment. I loved that they were willing to honor the initial quote and the discount offer, despite the lapse of time. So for $310, I got 11 vents cleaned, my kitchen tile/grout, and wood floors in my dining room and living rooms. It was a long process - I was home all day waiting for them to arrive. When they did, they worked hard. But there was a bit coming and going ... dropping off another worker to another spot, picking up equipment. I had a dinner party that I was late too, but in the end, I was happy to have clean floors and carpet. I was most pleased with my kitchen floors. I live in a very old building, and the buildup on the tile was impossible to clean. I'd gone through countless boxes of Swiffer Wet, bleach, tile cleaner - and the dirt residue wouldn't budge. Black dirt would continue to come off the tile ... cleaning was never-ending. The KIWI team ended up using some sort of acid to get the job done, and the end result was good. Not perfect, but then again, the tile probably is older than I am. The carpet cleaning technique is "unique." It's not steam cleaning, nor is it shampoo. KIWI claims that the water from the steam and suds in shampoo can damage the carpet, create more odors and increase the chances of mold because of the moisture. Therefor they use some other technique I can't explain. It's supposed to be greener, and fast-drying. It did dry within 15-20 minutes. And the carpet did look, feel and smell better. But not better than using steam or shampoo. I just prefer it, I guess. And I think it lasts longer. So two months later into March, my dog had an accident on the carpet due to a seizure. :( I did some carpet scrubbing, and low and behold ... I continued to remove black residue and dirt from the carpet. There it was in plain sight on the wet towels. I also noticed dirt stains on my socks weeks before, but didn't think it was from the carpet, rather the wood and tile floors. Long story short, they did a poor job getting out the dirt. Thankfully, they have a 1-year warranty. They'll come back an unlimited number of times a year for just $36 +tax. They also have a 30-day warrant in which they'll come back for free after a carpet cleaning; I wish I would have noticed the poor job sooner and I wouldn't have to pay the $36 ... but oh well. I'm gonna give them another chance to impress me. If not ... back to the traditional shampoo and/or steam cleaning! read more

I spent hundreds to supposedly clean an oriental rug and got it back looking exactly like what I gave them to clean. Pathetic.

I gave them a shot to do my carpet cleaning, but wasn't very impressed. I've done better job myself with a steamer rented from the hardware store. And that's not a compliment to myself. Let's start with the... Cons: - The guy was supposed to arrive within a 2 hour time frame (3-5 pm) but showed up after 6 (without calling or apologizing). I had to call the general number to find out that he was still coming. - The guy's cell phone rang tons while he was doing the job and he kept answering it. I thought that was reeeeeally unprofessional. I understand personal calls, but this was a bit much. - He walked around in his dirty shoes after cleaning the carpet. Why? Why not wear booties? I just paid to have my carpet cleaned, so why would I want you walking on it? - The guy started grabbing stuff off my dresser and moving it to another room without asking if it was ok. Why did I have stuff in my room still? Well my fiance had helped me clear out most of my room, but I was unsure what to do about the dresser and had been given no prior instruction so we left it for the time being. Regardless, I don't feel it was appropriate to start moving my stuff without saying anything. - It doesn't just take "15-45" mins to dry. The first carpeted areas cleaned were walk in closets and they were still damp hours later. If the area has a ceiling fan on, then it's 15-45 mins drying time. Otherwise, nope. Pros: - The carpet felt like it was cleaner afterwards. And he got out a cat vomit stain...yuck! - The carpet cleaning is "green." Overall though, I felt like I paid a lot of money for someone to come to my house, pour a green carpet stain remover all over and suck it out with a fancy vacuum. Hence the "meh." If you are looking for a deeper cleaning and not just stain removal, you might want to go with a ho hum steam cleaner...if you can find something better than that let me know! read more

I SO REGRET hiring these people to clean my carpets. The guy showed up by himself to clean my entire house. We were told that they come in as a "team of 2", and that they move all of your furniture and put it back. This guy showed up (not in a nice tidy uniform like you see in the pictures), in a dilapidated old truck, with grungy equipment, at 1:00 p.m. He did not leave my house until 7:30 p.m. He did NOT put the furniture back like we were told they would be. The guy was FULL of excuses for everything that didn't work out like they said it was supposed to work out. Kiwi was supposed to be finished by the time I came home. I came home to my furniture all displaced. The guy was sitting on his butt on my stairs spraying cleaning fluid out of a spray bottle, and wiping my carpet with THE DIRTIEST RAG I HAVE EVER SEEN. I finally said, "your rag is awfully dirty. Aren't you just wiping more dirt on the very floor that you are trying to clean?" He said, "Yes mam." I said, "Do you think you should get a clean rag??" He said, "Yes mam." Then he put his dirty rag down on my carpet, stopped cleaning, and just sat there with his back to me. After a few minutes of him just sitting there, I said, "Do you have a clean rag with you?" He said, "No mam." I said, "Do you need me to get you a clean rag?" He said, "Yes mam." I said what color do you want?" He said, "white". The rag he was using was so brown and filthy, and if I had not said anything, he would have kept using that dirty rag until he was done! Then I had to ask him if he could try and re-clean the parts that he had "cleaned" with the filthy rag. He he went again, spraying SO MUCH cleaning solution on my carpets that my socks squeak when I walk on my tile floor after walking across the carpet (that is dry according to him)! And this is two hours after he finished!! He didn't look like he cared very much WHAT my carpets looked like - very apathetic. He could not give me a straight answer about anything. I asked questions while he was here, and never got a straight answer out of him except that he had "been doing this for 20 years". I really don't care about that. What I care about is answering my normal questions intelligently and doing a good job. I do not feel that I received either. Then he said to me, "You sure do ask a lot of questions! I feel like I'm on CNN or something"!! [ The most animated the Kiwi employee got was while he was waiting for ME to get HIM a clean towel. For some odd reason he started talking about a Dr. Brown who went to jail and killed himself and how he cleaned Dr. Brown's house, and how Dr. Brown's wife had an affair with Jeff Bagwell???" I DID NOT NEED TO KNOW ALL OF THAT. REALLY??? I've never seen such unprofessional behavior in my life from anyone I've hired to do a job for me. ] THEN, after he left, I went back inside (had to stay outside because chemical smell was so strong), he left me a surprise on my tile floor right in the middle of my foyer like a dirty diaper! It was the 'once clean' white towel (that I had given him to replace his dirty one) filthy and drenched with cleaning fluid for ME to pick up!!! I will NEVER call Kiwi again. It is now 9:30 at night, and the SMELL IS SO STRONG, I am having to wear a painters mask to tolerate it. To add insult to injury, they were supposed to clean the carpets AND the ducts in one day with their "team of two". I had to ask him 3 times where his partner was with no straight answer each time (only mumbling). Finally he said, "well I guess he didn't want to work or something." Then he was going to take up another full unplanned day at my house to clean the ducts that he was supposed to clean today!! HORRID BUSINESS PRACTICES. Almost illegal, needs to be looked into by Texas Workforce commissions. Guarantee this company should be shut down. This will be a public relations nightmare. I have contacted Elizabeth Cyr and I have also uploaded the link to every NextDoor app, Facebook review, yelp, and Houston Dallas and Atlanta review. I do not normally use 4 letter words, but this situation is completely beyond that. I will say, your company is a J-O-K-E! I am not quite sure of the business vision , but to send a driver with an unmarked vehicle to load and unload a rug in a filthy, broken down white pick up truck with no plastic covering or protection is shocking. When the driver unloaded our rug, it was shoved in and folded over in the bed of a truck along with 2 others (some not even rolled up ). The driver quickly exited his vehicle with an unmarked water bottle full of cleaning solution (assuming ?) and then sprayed our ""clean "" rug down to duck tape it. My husband and I could not even believe what we were seeing. Is this your standard procedure to "disguise" a bigger problem ? Our rug appeared to have been in a warehouse for a full two weeks (5/7-5/30) without even being touched. The quality of the "delivery " was absolutely reprehensible; to no fault of the drivers as they are only living out your mission, or lack thereof. I have also attached an email that I sent (to Lacy and customer service) prior to having The rug cleaned. This was at the request of Tunjy in the Houston office who multiple times assured me the your company is "experts" and can clean our rug. I attached pictures prior to cleaning and asked all the questions. During the 12 days that the rug was sitting at the warehouse, I called twice and spoke to two different people who assured me that there were no problems. My husband called Lacy immediately at delivery to voice our grievance to which she stated that maybe the rug "had not been cleaned at all!!!!!??"And that we still "have an open ticket". Lower than low! This is not a business, these are not quality workers. You have wasted our time, deceived us, then tried to take our money for a service you did not perform. That's stealing . There is so much more behind the scenes and I think a good visit from an inspection company is warranted. There is no oversight, there is no accountability. This is disgusting. We will never do business with you. I hope you get shut down to work on some QC measures. You have not even heard the end of this, like I said , consider this a PR nightmare as I've also tagged all the local Houston, Dallas and ATL news stations with these pictures of your """cleaning service""""" and the pointing of fingers in your dog and pony show. Kiwi services picked up two of my rugs on 7/10/18. I had to call them to see when they were delivering them back no one ever called me. Today is 8/8/18 which is 2 days why from a month they have had two of my rugs. They were supposed to be delivered between 8-10am. I received a phone call to confirm the delivery time. My rugs arrived in the back of a pick up truck rolled up not in a van closed. The service of them picking up and taking them and bringing them back sounded great but them being gone a month is a little extreme. Now that I have them back they do look nice. read more

Kiwi contacted me about my last review and offered to clean my 2 rooms for free and still give me an estimate on any remaining pet smells. They showed up on time, cleaned my carpets, but didn't move my furniture as promised. I expected the cleaning to last longer than 30-45 minutes just based on how long it takes me to clean it. Overall, passable. I'm happy that I didn't pay for the treatment so I'm not complaining. If I had paid, I would have expected him to move the smaller furniture in my bedroom that he definitely didn't vacuum under. When I asked if my carpets needed any extra treatment he said no. Do not use them. The tech that came to my house was uncomfortable to say the least. The first words that came out of his mouth even before hello were about my appearance. He complained about the style of house I own (town home) because he's out of shape and didnt care for stairs. He decided he didnt want to do the job so he walked out on it. I called corporate who didnt have another tech available for awhile. I agreed to the second time bracket and they showed up outside of it. My furniture movers ended up arriving (on time) and I lost the ability to clean the carpets before the move due to entitled attitudes on their tech's part and poor resource allocation due to corporate's choices. Based on other yelpers' reviews, this technology doesnt work. Go with steam. Additionally they have complaints against them on the BBB. read more

I had my wood floors stripped by Kiwi and instead of adding polyurethane to my floors they put wax on my wood floors. Because of this I am unable to truly clean my floors without a film showing on the floor. A year later, I found out they put wax to my floor. One of the few honest workers they have told me the truth. He said he has told them multiple times not to add wax to wood floors because it will create the issue I am having with my floors. They refuse to fix their created issue because I waited too late to let them know. I had no idea they messed up my floors until I kept trying to clean my floors and couldn't get it truly clean. Recently had them pick up some rugs while I was remodeling to clean and call center was great about working with my changing schedule. I am now having them out to clean air ducts and call center was open Sunday and able to get me scheduled Wednesday. I have used kiwi for over ten years and although they sometimes leave a mess behind or supplies that the driver forgets, I had been pleased with the cleaning. This time however, they ruined my carpet. It has permanent swirls marks in it and the threads are damaged. They pulled up easily into the vacuum and ruined that too. I left messages and a complaint but no one has stepped up the help. They cut off 50 bucks but my carpet is still ruined. I'm going to have to replace it. I am not using kiwi ever again. read more

Please read before booking them. Appt was made Thursday afternoon and confirmed for Friday 8am-10am time slot ( I took off work for this). On Friday received a call at 8:18am advised technicians would be delayed. I asked for a new time and none could be given. At 10:43am received second called and informed again technicians would be delayed. I asked for a new time and none could be given. 1:33pm, I called them as no-one has contacted me with any updates. I asked to speak with a supervisor and Carl took my call. He is not a supervisor but called a supervisor, I never personally spoke to a supervisor. The imaginary supervisor told Carl to tell me it was pushed out to dispatch center and that's it. I asked a simple question, would a technician make it out to my house today YES or NO. Carl could not even answer that nor did a supervisor think it was worthy to contact a customer. (side note Carl was not to blame and was professional) at 2:21pm I received a call stating the technician was 20 to 30 minutes out. Its 3:53pm, and I writing this review no show no call. Do not use this company, apparently they can not estimate time to travel and none of their technicians have cell phones that they can be reached to communicate delays or expected arrivals. I'm writing regarding the service I received today by Wilfred (5734). First he arrived at the back end of time window (5pm). This will be important later in the email. Second, he stated he was late because I "cancelled my appointment." and he just received notice today that I rescheduled. I actually called and confirmed my appointment a few days ago. Third, he kept stating that he works on commission, and that he had a larger job at 6pm, so he didn't have time to move furniture. The rooms were about as clear as they were going to get. I had no intention of moving large dressers not beds and understood he would clean around those. There were only a few small pieces to move (chair, small table). Again, he kept saying he worked on commission, and had a larger job at 6pm. Finally, he provided an estimate on a rug. He said Kiwi would charge $150. Over the phone, the estimate was around $30-$40 but the technician would be the expert. He then lowered his price to $70 for the rug. And again said he works on 15% commission. It's an acrylic 12x8 rug from Home Depot. Nothing special. At that point I cancelled the appointment. On the invoice it says due to "customer service misunderstanding." Well, I was interested in using Kiwi as a local carpet cleaning service, and came away disappointed. They did get my carpets spotless, which is worth something. However, they estimated an arrival time between 2 - 4 pm and didn't show up until 5:30! Earlier in the day they called me and suggested they'd show up closer to 4, which is fine, but by 4:30 I called the office and they couldn't get hold of the dispatch! At 5:15 I called back yet again and still nothing... Worst of all: I got neither consolation nor apology from either the office or the cleaner about the delay. P.S. - After posting this review and leaving negative comments on a survey the company sent to me, a customer service rep. called to apologize for my ordeal. I have been using Kiwi Carpet Cleaning for 4 years now and I just love their services. Kiwi has great deals and also offers what they call warranty cleanings. Here's the scoop: you pay for your initial cleaning for how ever many rooms you choose, then for an entire year after your initial cleaning, they will clean those same rooms as many times as your want (during that year) for $4 per room, plus a $28 trip charge. This is an awesome deal for my household because we clean our carpets quarterly. Just to give you an idea of the cost: I have 7 areas that get cleaned. I paid $225 for the year and my warranty cleaning cost me $60 bucks. Awesome right? Best of all Kiwi's offers professional cleaning and gleaming results without the toxins often found in chemical products used in steam carpet cleaning. read more

I had about 1200 square feet of hardwood and tile flooring cleaned by kiwi. They said that they were going to come out six different times before they finally finished. The first time they were 2 hours later than the end of the time window they were supposed to arrive in. The next time they canceled one hour before they were supposed to arrive. Then they showed up, but refused to finish the job, and said that they would come back in a week. They didn't. I then called and complained, and they came back, but without the equipment they needed. Then on scheduled visit #6, they finally finished the 2 hours of work. They supposedly offer a warranty, but I'll never call as I doubt that they would ever show up. read more

Kiwi quoted me an amount for services. They then over charged me $70. When I contacted them they agreed it was their mistake and they would fix it. They did not. The service of cleaning my couch was good. The customer service as far as answering my phone calls and agreeing to fix the overcharge was good also. However the follow-through was not there at all. So basically this company just gave me a line. They still have not corrected the amount they overcharged me. And I gave them adequate time to do what they said they would do. RUN AND KEEP RUNNING AWAY FROM KIWI. It's no wonder that the leading carpet cleaners - ARE LEADING. This company has no regards for the customer. When KIWI picked up my rug I was hopeful. After 3 weeks and now communication from KIWI I called and was told it takes about 30 days. 30 days later I called again to be told the average time takes about 45 days. I finally received my rug after a month and a half and it looked just like it did when it was picked up. On the day of delivery; I was given a window of ALL DAY; 8-to-5 with no regard for my time. When it was delivered there were buckles in the rug, the KIWI delivery guy tried to explain it away at the same time tried to get the buckles out. This is an expensive rug that I trusted to KIWI and it actually looks worse than before. Finally, I was quoted one price and upon arrival given an invoice for a much higher price. I was just glad to get the rug back. Now I have to spend more money to have it clean like I wanted. read more

Not very professional! The cleaner originally quoted my two tiled areas at 200 sq feet. I wasn't sure I wanted both areas done since he said the stains may not come out. Then after finishing one area he asked if I liked it (which I appreciate) and if he wanted me to do the other area. And I asked again if that was included in the 200 sq feet he quoted me a price for and he said No but he would "do it for cash" if I wanted him to. I said there is no way the one area is 200 square feet and made him re-measure in front of me and it was less than 100 square feet. So he was trying to charge me double and get a cash payment too!! We totally love Kiwi! We have used them over ten years now and each and every time we are thrilled with their work. We have three dogs and they get all the pet stains up for us and the carpets smell fabulous afterwards. I always get a bottle of their super spotter and keep it on hand - they refill it for free for a year and it's the best thing ever! They are on time, they call before they arrive and most important of all they are fabulous with the carpets and the couches too! I set an appointment two weeks in advance and they called a day before to tell me that the cleaner wasn't gong to make it for our scheduled time because he had to attend a funeral. they rescheduled me for the same day but different and later time, only for them to call the same morning saying that they can get some one out sooner in 30 mins. They didn't cover any of the appliances and proceeded to ruin the stainless steel finishes. Elizabeth wouldn't take calls and was no help. They only offered to refund the cleaning costs. They scheduled an appointment and failed to show in the window of time they gave me. I waited another hour and then called. The gentleman that answered was apologetic, placed me on hold then came back and said the technician was simply running late and should be there in an hour. Oddly he suggested calling them back to make sure. An hour and a half later I called again and a woman answered, said the technician had called in sick and a replacement was on the way and should be there within 1/2 an hour. By this time it was 5:39 pm. I called one more time, at about 6:45 and said don't bother, though they obviously had no intention of bothering at that point. Do not use this service. They do not clean the carpets. The technician said that he vacuumed the carpets. He brought in an old 50 style vacuum cleaner. The carpets were still filthy with pet hair contact lenses and dirt in them. He then sprayed the carpets and scrubbed the dirt into them. And then tried to charge me. They do not remove any of the dirt or the solution that they spray on your carpets. I booked Kiwi services because I am moving into a new home and I have to have the carpets cleaned before I move in. They said they can clean them and I turn down appointments with other companies. I now Am left without my carpets cleaned before I move in. When I tried to call Kiwi services after the technician left, they never answered the phone. I also never received a phone call back from them. read more
