My husband had the Wednesdsy pork chop special and WOW! Delicious, moist, HUGE, did I say Delicious!! And it came with a lovely house salad and loaded baked potato! First visit, and it did not disappoint. The bowl was plentiful enough to feed 2! I added chicken, which was "ok"... a little dry and nothing impressive. I asked for double rice & no beans, and got beans anyway... I was hungry and the food took a while to come out, so I just ate it as is. We ordered the vegetable omelet and stuffed biscuits and gravy as takeout at Kitchen Tales. The ordering via phone was very easy and the staff member that took the order was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. When I arrived to pick up the food it was ready at the promised time and the checkout process went smoothly. What didn't go well was the food that we received. Though you could tell it was all prepared with quality ingredients the preparation was definitely sub par. The potatoes were overly seasoned with salt to the point that we were unable to finish them. The stuffed biscuits and gravy had good biscuits and good sausages but the gravy was bland and completely uninspired. The omelet was also a disappointment due to it having poor preparation. There were spots that were over cooked and it was obvious the chef did not know how to properly flip an omelet. Kitchen Tales is in an excellent location, has a good menu, uses quality ingredients and has hospitable staff. They just don't hit the mark because they fail at the most important task of food preparation. At over $30.00 a breakfast for two should be more skillfully prepared and not such a disappointment and a bland affair. read more

We walked into a beautiful and clean restaurant with all Texas vibes. I had the pork Milanese with fettuccine Alfredo. It was delicious. The Alfredo sauce was rich and velvety. The pork Milanese had the perfect balance between juicy and crispy. Our server was super helpful and gave us amazing recommendations. Conceptually lots of great sound dishes on this menu but something in the execution of both our dishes was just shy of a good meal. I opted for the BBQ pot roast platter which sounded interesting but left me longing for a good brown gravy, the bbq sauce being watery and the roasted vegetables being decidedly limp. The Buffalo wings and Mac and cheese entree suffered from the same liquidation and were just meh. Still it's worth a try and I will give it another shot in the future. read more

Ordered the grits - it was glop on a plate. Anyone considering eating here need only to really look at the pictures. Beige, brown, over-cooked, dry. If you are someone who equates good food because of the quality served, then you may be happy with this restaurant. We have been here a few times and have enjoyed the food. My husband got the Porkchop and it was huge and he was concerned if it was cooked properly and so he cut into it and started eating it and he said it was the best pork chop he has ever eaten. I got the meatloaf and it was really good. Happy to have a place that is not a chain restaurant to go to here. We see the desserts but we are so full we have not tried any lol so I cannot tell you if they are any good but boy they looked amazing lol. read more

Worst place to eat dinner. Our pork chop was so dry that our waiter even stated he wouldn't try to do anything when all the meat is there. Where is the customer service, you recommended us the food and it was so dry it tasted like paper. At least try to talk to your manager or whoever your shift lead is. Terrible food we ordered 2 pork chops because he recommended it. Can't even back up his statement, learn customer service if you going to be in this business. So my family and I just finished eating. The food was delicious and the service was great.

The ambiance of the place was pleasant and clean. That was the only positive. The food was bland and unappetizing. The potatoes were old and the rest of the food was almost inedible. My husband's fish was cooked well but slathered in a red sauce that was so spicy my husband was actually sweating trying to eat it. And at 25.00 that's a-little ridiculous. The service was also subpar and not up to standard. So all in all we will not be back to pay over 100.00 bucks for food that was inedible is not something we want to do again. For this place to have 4.2 stars, either the brunch is exceptional or the locals have no sense of taste. I will say that the 2 apps that we received - nachos & crab balls were pretty good. The steak was good. Chicken Fried steak was OK. It went down from there. One plate was served cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. It was my order that went off the rails. I ordered the rueben sandwich - with thousand island on the side & a side of spicy mustard. Another person in my party ordered the same way but with extra 'kraut'. When they set my plate down, it had an AWFUL smell - rotten smell. I asked the other person if theirs smelled right, and they said yes. I started scraping the 'kraut' off of my sandwich - it had some brown clumps in it. I started asking others at my table if they knew what it was. No one could tell - we all agreed on the smell. One person at the table who was doubting took a whiff and responded,'Oh my God! That smells like poop. We asked for the Mgr. We waited for several mins. He never came to the table so I went to the kitchen. His response was the worst - 'someone ordered a rueben with crab on it. it smells bad ... but not rancid. That's what our crab smells like.' If his response had been along the lines of, 'I am very sorry, that was bad, and we should not have served that. Let me make it right. 'I would not take the time to write this review. Businesses make mistakes, but His response tells me their standards are very low and I will never visit this place again. The ticket said 'extra crab' - I can only imagine that was supposed to say 'extra kraut' for the other guest. He even repeated the order back to us and never said crab. Everyone at that table LOVES crab, so it was not personal preference - it was food that should have been thrown out. We are on the hunt for the best chicken fried steak.we didn't find it here although the crust remained in tacked while cutting. The steak had to flavor and bonus points for serving it with toast. The corn was very flavorful and the mashed potatoes were good the chicken fried steak didn't make the cut. The avocado bites would be better if you used fresh avocados. They were over cooked. It was OK, but they charge fine dining prices for Chilis or TGIF quality. I got their Pork Chop off the dinner menu, didn't notice anything exceptional about it, and felt some pain when the check came for $30. I was there the night that Troy was there and watched the entire event take place. His statement is misleading and he was absolutely rude to the wait staff as well as the manager. They tried to be accommodating to him but he just got louder and louder. Luckily it was late in the evening and only my wife and one other table were there. He obviously misordered his meal or was expecting it for free. There is a polite way to send your good back Troy! We felt very sorry for the other 7 people at his table for his rudeness towards everyone in the restaurant. Kitchen Tales is a great place to enjoy a meal. We eat there frequently and the staff is always professional. Troy, next time you want to go out for dinner you might enjoy What a Burger a little more than an upscale restaurant like kitchen tales. Decided to stop in and have dinner. I ended up being the only patron and the staff treated me kindly! My waitress (sorry I'm terrible with names the very nice young blonde lady) and the young lady working the bar were both attentive and kind. Recommend the lamb and it was amazing! Just fall off the bone tender LITERALLY and the green beans perfectly spicy! Ended the night with the creme brulee and it was heavenly! Can't wait to come back!! read more

This is a good, if not a bit eclectic restaurant. I'm a big fan of their breakfasts and I have several friends that love their dinner menu. Maybe I just haven't found my dish yet, but the menu is varied with no particular theme. I tied their shrimp and grits last time, but the grits had so much cheese that there were strings pulling up on each bite. It also had entirely too much garlic for my taste, totally overpowering the shrimp. Meanwhile, everyone else at the table raved about their food. read more

I do not take what I am about to write lightly - I have a new favorite restaurant. Yesterday was my first visit and it was literally the best meal I have had in YEARS. It was so good that we bought another set of the exact same meals for ourselves and another set of the exact meals for my parents to take home with us. We already have plans to make the 45 minute drive again on Saturday. The juiciest and moist and flavorful pork chop I've ever eaten. Oh and the fried okra. Holy stuff. Best I've ever eaten and I've had a lot of great fried okra. I am from New Orleans, Louisiana so for me to say that their shrimp and grits were phenomenal and maybe the best I've ever had is saying a lot. Like you have no idea how hard that is for me to come to terms with. I spoke with one of the managers for quite a while, unfortunately for the life of me I cannot remember his name, he was wonderful. My wife and I tried this restaurant again for dinner on a Sunday night. Not a good choice. My wife ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The cook obviously knows nothing about how to prepare Italian. Alfredo is supposed to be cream and parmesan cheese. It had neither, just butter and garlic. Not sure what these bad reviews were all about. I live within walking distance and had to stop in to see for myself. I was greeted immediately (even though there was a party there that took up half the restaurant) and seated at the bar for a takeout order. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made GREAT recommendations. Chicken salad croissant.... DELICIOUS, Lobster Claw Grilled Cheese......GENIUS, Cheese sticks are exactly what you want in a cheese stick...stringy and juicy with a flavorful, crisp shell. We get the menu. The menu looked pretty incredible. We are excited. We order our food very specifically due to our dietary needs and liking. And the service went downhill from that the waiter got her drinks out quickly, which thing seemed to be going well, but then, after that, he didn't check on us did not refill our drinks. He brought my plate out before my wife's, which I don't wanna eat alone that's the whole point of going with my wife to the restaurant he got the order completely wrong both mine and my wife's. My wife ordered a skillet. It was more grease than anything you were supposed to get bread is what kind of bread we wanted refuse to bring out the bread. The whole service was absolutely horrible. Who doesn't love a thoughtful and quaint restaurant that's not a chain? I do!!! Kitchen Tales is a Hidden little gem on 105 in Conroe located at the end of a strip mall. Service was delightful and menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is a plentiful. Went for lunch and had an awesome and flavorful way-over-sized Chicken Ginger Sesame Salad with refreshing cold mandarin oranges - salad was fresh, crunchy and ta-lish. My tablemates enjoyed a cup of hot French Onion Soup and Grilled Sandwiches (which the sandwiches were just like the salad ....oversized and enough for 2).
