Trendy... for whatever reason that matters. Our waitress started out with a bit of a poor attitude and got worse as we returned one plate (because we didn't know it came with eggs) and the plate was dirty. She stated that it was "listed on the menu" and she would have it replated and the eggs removes. Then became quite rude from that point on. Especially after we waited almost 10 minutes for them to just "replate" it and just had them take it back and remove it from the bill. She took her sweet time getting our bill fixed and closing out the ticket. Maybe it was just a bad day... maybe not. Regardless, the food is just so so. *Gluten Free Experience* Nice environment. Open space and great for the family. As a someone with a gluten sensitivity, I was thrilled to see a menu fully labeled with every item I could order. The only issue was, the only labeled menu was the breakfast menu and it was lunch time. There was not a single item on the lunch menu that was labeled "Gluten Friendly". While the staff was not knowledgeable about the items with gluten, she was helpful in finding it this information from the kitchen. It was confusing that they said not to order the chicken, as they didn't know what was in the sauce side it comes prepackaged, even though there were chicken several items on the breakfast menu labeled "gluten friendly". Overall good experience, but not an uncertain place to go with a gluten sensitivity. read more

Searched for chicken fried steak, but my wife's chicken fried chicken was even better. Gravy was not spicy but you can always add pepper. Mashed potatoes were smooth and flavorful. The vegetables were well seasoned. Get there for the lunch special and you can get essentially the same amount of food for a few bucks less. read more

After golf today we recommended to the couple that we played with that we go to Kitchen Tales. They have great wine and delicious food. The meatloaf is great!!! The pork chop is enormous and tender and the glaze is delicious ! The service is spot on!!! This restaurant has never disappointed us. Kitchen Tales is a great find in the Montgomery/Lake Conroe area. I wish I could put it at 4 1/2 stars. Our food was great and the waitstaff attentive. Unfortunately I am on a low carb diet so I couldn't try some of the things on the menu that looked most appealing. I had a steak that was great and the wife had lobster Mac and cheese. First time to eat here on Sunday. Restaurant was moderately clean and staff was friendly. Had the chicken fettuccini Alfredo with grilled vegetables I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. Vegetables could have been a better assortment, less bell pepper and onions. Pecan cobbler was very good. read more

Our waitress only came to us 2 times while we were waiting for our food for over 50 minutes while we watched the table next to us get their food before us when they came in 20 min after us. We went for breakfast. My husband had the Filled Biscuits and Gravy with Chicken Tenders. His eyes nearly fell out of his head when he saw the portions. He's a big eater and could not finish it. He said he could eat the cheesy gravy off of a "flip-flop" it was so good. His grits were flavorless, though. They needed salt, pepper, butter - something. I had the Salmon and Cream Cheese Omelet that had a healthy portion of salmon in it. Yum! The server/kitchen forgot an a la carte side order that I had to try to catch his attention to ask about. First and probably last time we will eat here. The good - our server was nice and attentive, answered our questions about the menu. Clean dining room with nice decor. The bad - the food was terrible. We had the Mac and Wings and the French Dip. Had to be some of the worst Mac I've ever tried. Tube pasta with what tasted like cheese whiz poured over it. Boneless wings were ehh. French dip tasted and looked more like shredded pork than sliced roast beef and had raw purple onions on it instead of grilled white onions. Hubby enjoyed the Traditional Breakfast on our first breakfast venture. On our second breakfast trip, the pecan crust French toast was a must do, and I will do it again! Lunch....soup and salad or soup and sandwich is just enough food. It's a toss up every time between the tomato basil, or French onion....I haven't tried they're butternut squash bisque, but it's on my list. Hubby swears by their cheeseburger and the French dip. I have been to Kitchen Tales a few times now and I've got to say, all the experiences with both food and service have been top notch. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant is always very clean as well. I've had the fried pickles, shrimp and grits, BBQ pot roast, and chicken fried chicken- all really great. My 5 year was also a big fan of the grilled cheese and french fries. I'm very impressed with Kitchen Tales and will continue to recommend. Great job! read more

Came on a Monday with a group of 8. Took about an hour between the time we ordered and the time our food arrived. A couple of the orders were incorrect but were fixed quickly. The food was good. When we first went to this restaurant we weren't sure what to expect. I ordered the Cornish hens as it was something I had not eaten in a long time. I enjoyed the meal, and because it was more than I could eat at one sitting, ended up bringing some of it home. I manage to bring home half of most of what I order - usually there is too much food to eat in one sitting. They can be accommodating. Their mac and wings comes with buffalo style sauce. We were seated near a couple at the bar one time, and the lady who ordered this dish said the wings were too spicy for her, and they gave her honey barbecue wings instead. That is the only way I will order that dish now! A recommendation from Gabby has been to order salmon for the protein on a any of their salads vs. chicken, beef or shrimp (except for the Avocado Lobster Salad). Excellent suggestion as it is not as heavy with the fish as it might be with the other meats. I have tried other dishes that turned out to be spicier than I could eat or digest and ended up not finishing them. On average, I haven't had a bad meal there yet. Most of the time service is excellent. I understand, when they are busy, service will be a little slower, but that's to be expected. If you are looking for a "fast food" type restaurant, this is not it. Take the time to enjoy the meal. read more

This restaurant has not even been open a week and it's great!! The hostess was very friendly. The restaurant is open and bright with large front windows. The decor is rustic and clean. I ordered the shrimp & grits, which were awesome. My hui y got the chicken fried steak. He said it was good as well. The portions are large, but not ginormous. The tea was fresh.
