I admire the principle of this place and appreciate the simplicity of elements in design and presentation. As an informed consumer, it's nice to know they recycle most of their wastes and appear to use all reusable items within the establishment. I also prefer the "farm to table" style, or in their case "locally sourced ingredients." This is how we should be eating, no matter who you are, where you are from, eating the in season, local items will reduce your footprint and likely reduce the amount of "extra" crap we get on our food. The further it has to go, the more preservation that takes place. Now, on to the food: I had a pizza (Philly), the Bahn Mi Salad and the Bahn Mi sandwich on the following day. The salad and sandwich were really good, however, the pizza lacked something for me. Their utilization of dough was a big low and it seemed to lack something in terms of flavor. Salt? Spice? I'm honestly not sure. The way they treat their meats is respectable in terms of flavor and seasoning, but when you put it on dough with cheese you have to add more flavor. Service is 5 star here on both of my visits (although waitress #2 could have taken it down a notch)... but it was fairly timely and exceptionally respectful. I wish I didn't have to go for lunch only while in school because that bar was calling my name. I'm imaging that their cocktail selection would be fantastic! read more

At the time we went to the Kitchen Sync, trip advisors had rated it #1 for best restaurant in Greenville. We wanted to see if the food matched the rating. I can honestly say in my humble opinion it did not. We started off with the best thing on the menu in my opinion the sticky chicken. To me it was my first time trying this kind of take on sweet and spicy boneless chicken. (Portion size was small) The coconut ranch with the chicken was very unique, it blended nicely with the spicy chicken. For my main course I ordered the Cracklin' Chicken Thighs which came with greens and Mac and cheese and this is where it gets interesting. Have you ever had corn or peppers in your Mac and cheese? This side of Mac and cheese was something from a thanksgiving horror stories. The consistency tasted was if Mac and cheese met dressing or stuffing. The chicken was nicely cooked but only seasoned on the top of the chicken where they nicely crisped the skin. I attempted to dip my chicken in the coconut ranch but quickly realized that it was the spicy sauce blended with the sweet ranch is what made it a hit. YGreens were okay. Always have great food and service at Kitchen Sync. They added an outdoor patio that is really nice if you enjoy outdoor dining.

What a perfect place for a date night! They currently do not take reservations, but do have a waiting list. Thankfully, we did not need to sign up, because we made sure to arrive when they opened their doors for dinner time. We were only briefly inside the restaurant portion and noticed the cool wall decor with the denim jeans pieces for the USA map; how quirky! The bar area looked pretty cool as well. We requested to seat out on the enclosed patio, which was nice and warm. For the first 15 minutes or so we had it all to ourselves, but by the time we left the whole restaurant was bustling with guests. Our waitress Sarah C. was phenomenal; she was personable, kind, and you could totally tell that she loves her job and seeing guests happy and well taken care of; a rarity these days in the hospitality industry - sadly. To start I ordered a cocktail called Parasol (and yes - it came with a mini parasol!), which was fruity, rummy and yummy. As an appetizer we ordered the Gravy Fries, which were delicious. Love those hand-cut fries when they are cooked just right. For our entreés, hubby enjoyed a tasty, medium-cooked Steak with a Veggie Hash, smashed Yukon Golds and Short Rib Pan Gravy and I had the Cracklin Chicken Thighs with Collard Greens and a Roasted Vegetable Mac & Cheese (it reminded me of succotash as it had corn and mushrooms in it as well) topped with "magic dust". Everything tasted wonderful! For dessert we had the Cookie, but instead of with Milk we chose Ice Cream. The cookie was salty, sweet and had ingredients in it that I initially wasn't sure if they would taste good together, but they meshed so well. Now I know why this is one of the best in Greenville. This was our second time eating here but the first time since the pandemic. We felt very safe and they practice social distancing and all staff has on masks. Now on to the food! We had the the Gritz Fritz appetizer and it was amazing! The pepper jam is delish. For dinner we had the Banh Mi and Holly salads absolutely fantastic and flavorful. With the Holly salad I had a side of fried tofu with the pepper jam, perfect compliment. Oh I can't forget about dessert, we had the Shmores and it was a little slice of Heaven. Stopped here for lunch with a friend and was not disappointed. We arrived at 1pm on a Friday and it was packed! There is a parking lot in back, but it will probably fill up. If that's the case, there are signs pointing out additional parking nearby. My friend and I both had salads, which were very fresh and unique. The Mike's Mix salad has chicken, crispy beets, (which are delicious), pistachios, goat cheese, pickled red onions, spinach, and a house balsamic dressing. It's so good! I don't know where to start! The atmosphere was amazing the wait staff was friendly and super helpful! We were new to the restaurant and the waitress talked us through the restaurants story of how they use local sourced food and ingredients. The drinks were amazing and perfectly made! The manager was amazing as well he was bouncing between helping the waitresses and waiter he was helping the hostesses and the expediters! It came with fresh greens, bean sprouts, shredded purple cabbage, carrot with mixed root veggie shreds, cucumber, mint leaves, and rice stick noodles topped with black sesame seeds. The menu isn't huge but there is nice variety along with some nightly specials. My server Mallory was great and helpful with their menu. They have a solid selection of drafts and cocktails that won't break the bank. I settled on the gnuddi and short rib sauce. It was divine and served with two pieces of swamp rabbit cafe steccia bread. The table beside me ordered a pizza and shrimp pasta...both looked fab as well. Super disappointing. I haven't had such an under seasoned, underwhelming meal out in a long time. Scampi had zero flavor with literal water at the bottom of the bowl , as if the noodles were undrained. It was so bad I asked for a replacement of the bahn mi salad with grilled chicken but they were out of grilled chicken - they only had fried chicken she said. What sort of fresh farm to table place pre-batters/pre-fries their chicken? Shrimp were obviously farm raised (yikes!) and not wild caught. My grandma's pork chop had never seen a granule of salt or pepper. veggie pizza was bland and half of it was crust. Only saving grace was the sangria, beet appetizer and the service, hence the 2 stars. While we were waiting for our table, we got drinks at the bar and watched the bartender pour a beer that was half frozen for another customer; she apologized and said something to the effect of "it's been that kind of night."
