Only the second time I've been to this restaurant. First time I went and sat at the bar and waited and waited for someone to acknowledge me. I eventually left. But my friend asked me to meet her there tonight and she was sitting at the bar when I got there. I joked about it how that was the same spot I sat at last time when no one acknowledged me. She said 'funny I've been sitting here a few minutes now and same thing!' So we sat a few more minutes with no acknowledgement despite a bartender a few feet away. We decided to try a table. They weren't busy at all but even then it look another while before someone finally came. And she was nice and attentive. But the food was terrible. I got the veal masala which has cold and weirdly sweet pasta underneath an over cooked and dried out veal with nothing on top of it. We enjoy going early to Limoncello for their Happy Hour before taking in a show at The Peace Center. It's walkable to down town. Pizza is 1/2 price and their delicious meatball appetizers are $2 each. Drinks are also. Discounted for Happy Hour. We have not had dinner here yet but will soon. This joint is located in a cute little corner with a beautiful patio section. We came for my step daughter's birthday. My honest opinion-- it could use a little more flavor. My kiddos loved the cherry blossom mocktail. Wish they would've coursed out our appetizers/salads to our entrees. But it all came out within 3 mins of each other. Which overloaded our table and eyes. Mary, the GM, is AMAZING! Didn't know she was the GM until later in our service but she was incredibly attentive and engaging so I asked. She knew her product details, offered suggestions, gave us a sample of the teoanade when we couldn't decide between the meatballs and the burrata. I used to own a restaurant and if I still had it I would steal her in a heartbeat! I came here as part of a large group for dinner on a weeknight. The venue is nice, rather open and bright inside, but nice. The service was pretty good and considering the size of our group, she was spot-on! The menu is decent, though there are many basic (fried food type) items on it. Wine and cocktail list was decent. As for food... on our visit the food was decent. Execution was OK, but many items we got needed seasoning (salt). I ordered their Italian Chop Salad and it was the saddest looking salad I've ever gotten from an Italian joint. I will say that I did enjoy the short rib ravioli. They have a nice dessert menu... the limoncello cake was really good. I also tried a scoop of their mint chocolate chip gelato and it was basic and blah. The serving was huge, I'm used to getting a smaller, single scoop. It was fake colored green with hardly any chocolate chips in it. Overall, it's ok, but not very authentic nor flavorful. Super sorry to have to write this as I almost never give a poor review, however, one of my favorite restaurants has earned it. Servers were kind yet the following happened with the restaurant being empty except me and the person I was with: - bar tender incorrectly said it was not Happy Hour (3:00- it was) - the frozen drinks ordered were not frozen but on the rocks without warning us - appetizers order was placed to the kitchen 20 minutes after they were ordered and I had to remind server of our order - long wait for the a pizza which was undercooked and cold - NO employees was in the front of house at ALL to tell the issue of the pizza to so I had to knock on the kitchen door to get attention - they did not offer any compensation for the 3 hour ordeal (I do not ask for it yet expect a resolution in reputable businesses) Again, I hate giving a negative review, yet if the owner doesn't know, nothing can improve. We will not be returning & I had chosen this restaurant for my birthday party of 20 people just a few years ago. Super sad. read more

The blackened chicken on top, that our waitress recommended was a small portion, and it was very overcooked and therefore extremely dry. I do not recommend adding chicken to this dish. Went on $2 oops now $3 dollar prosecco night. Went there to wind down after a nice meal. The menu seems pretty cool even though went for drinks. I ordered the prosecco and my friend went with the old fashioned. We enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere was excellent. People chillin on the patio enjoying the company. As I write this I will upgrade to a 4 based on what I was there for. The desserts and menu looked good just did not sample it. The only reason I'm giving this place 1 star is because they have a beautiful outdoor dining space and it was a gorgeous spring day. I ordered pizza for lunch and it was awful. How is possible for an Italian restaurant to create pizza that is utterly inedible? But far worse is the "tiramisu"! Last year this restaurant had the second best tiramisu that I have ever eaten on this continent. That was the main reason why we chose this place for lunch. The mug filled with some kind of tasteless sugar pudding drowned in brown powder was ... I mean ... I can't think of any adjectives terrible enough to describe it. The prices tell me this should be upscale Italian of some kind. The food and ambiance tell me it should be a dumpster behind Fazoli's. I had the bolognese and let me tell you it was inedible. The music inside was extremely loud and off... why play that kind of music in a semi-expensive place where it's supposed to be quiet or perhaps classy? Oh and out front wants to be a hipster hang out spot to bring your dog? What is this place... a brewery or fine Italian place that charges $25 plus for bad noodles and salt food? Will not be going back. Go to Fazolis instead (not the dumpster). Hopefully it fails soon so GVl can get another good restaurant in that spot. Such a beautiful restaurant in Greenville! The ambiance is simply amazing, I love how bright the yellow umbrellas are. I truly felt like I was whisked away to Portofino. I also really liked the different type of lounges and chairs they had for outside dining. The food was pretty good. For the table we ordered the creamy Tuscan chicken and the chicken Alfredo. First, our server, Alex, she deserves the most kudos! She was such a delight and on point with her service! Things got a bit hectic there for a bit and she never missed a beat. She was gracious and made the whole experience shine! The ambiance is spectacular! We dined outside but I wouldn't mind coming back to check out the inside atmosphere a bit more. I will say we chose this restaurant over others due to the pictures of the outdoor setting and the kids menu. We had a couple of littles with us who had been on a very long road trip and were a bit restless running around. There were a couple of times I got nervous that there was such easy access to the busy street. Yes, it is our responsibility to watch over the swift kiddos but also, perhaps a short wrought iron fencing (or something to that effect) might be worth consideration, for sheer liability alone. My husband and I were discussing that the appeal of the beautiful outdoor setting plus a kids menu makes it seem as though it is a kid friendly place. While the staff were amazing at handling our table, I think some of the pictures of the outdoor dining area gave me the impression that it was more of a courtyard/contained setting. I do not hold that against the restaurant by any means. Now for the food. My husband ordered the Veal Marsala and it was one of the best I've had, hands down; the breading and tenderness of the veal, the sauce, yum yum! I'd potentially order this next time if he doesn't. I ordered the Perfect Pear (pear & prosciutto) pizza and it didn't quite hit. I never got much of the prosciutto flavor. I was expecting shaved prosciutto (which would have taken this pizza to the next level!!!) where instead it was fine-diced throughout the cheese. It was also overwhelmed with arugula to the point you couldn't hardly see the pizza, looked more like a salad from above. While delicious, paired with the mild flavors of the toppings, the flavor of the crust came through more than anything. The drink selection was great! I had the very refreshing Cherry Blossom mocktail and my husband had his McCallan. I'd like to go back, sans kids. They weren't not kid friendly, not at all!! In fact, they did great considering the kids with us were understandably restless being on a several week long road trip. We were in town over the weekend. We stopped here because of the outdoor seating area. We only had drinks, but all the food looked delicious. I wish we hadn't eaten previously. As for the drinks, the Limoncello 75 was dangerously delicious. The only thing better than the ambiance and cocktails was the service. Cross your fingers and hope you are seated in Jamie's section. Limoncello is a great place to dine in Downtown Greenville and a short walk from the Peace Center. It is near the river and you can eat inside or outside on the patio. I sat inside as it was too cool outside for me that day and I really liked the ceilings and that the tables had carpet underneath to help with the sound for when it gets busy. My service was great and attentive. The manager even came by to check on me and how things were. I went with the Limoncello Lunch Plate that had Caesar salad; garlic knots; a meatball and fettuccine alfredo. I enjoyed my lunch and even tried the meatball. I don't usually like them but this one was good. The garlic knots were really good as was the fettuccine alfredo. It was a little too much food but the price was good so I was glad I got to try a little of everything as I couldn't take what I didn't finish. Came in today for happy hour. Requested the happy hour sangiovese vino, and it was just on the verge of falling - its always super risky ordering red from the glass at any establishment. Was left wanting from that glass. My next glass was a pinot grigio and wasn't feeling that either. The meatballs were not bad - not outstanding but not bad. Italian Salad - it was fine. No complaints with the service, it was good, the atmosphere was nice, it is a lovely spot. I ordered a cosmopolitan and it was ok, but not one of the better ones. We ordered a piece of chocolate cake and for a Friday night, it tasted like it was a Monday leftover which was disappointing. Fried arancini : Larger than most, very heavy, included sauce was nice Fried Cheese: Ok I know this tends to be heavy, but these were greasy and lacked flavor. Veal Marsala: For some reason it was fried instead of sautéed with a mushroom and wine sauce. The scallopini like dish was tough, dry, flavorless, and the crust did not stick to the meat. The pasta that came with it was mushy, and flavorless Chicken Parmesan: Just average, chicken not well seasoned, overly fried, cheese did not add anything to the dish. As a resident of the Upstate, I have passed Limoncello many times in my travels always saying "we should try". Well finally we had lunch there last week. Love the atmosphere! We were seated promptly. Our waitress was attentive, positive and polite. There was never a time when we felt ignored and at the same time she did not hover. My husband ordered the fried bologna. It was amazing! This is not your grandfathers fried bologna sandwich. It was thinly sliced on a Kaiser roll with pickled onion. Just a really poor dining experience in every way. Food was very disappointing. I was surprised that they could mess up fettuccine Alfredo as badly as they did, but they found a way. It was very dry. All the entrees we got were very poorly cooked and tasted like they were either microwaved or left under a heat lamp for far too long. The veal was poorly prepared, the gluten free pizza crust was terrible, and the regular pizza crust was barely much better. The desserts were all completely disappointing as well. The server took our order and then seemed like he could have cared less. We were a party of 7 and it was obvious that he knew the 20% gratuity was going to be added automatically. He also obviously put in the wrong table number for the group next to us because they kept trying to give their food to our table. Arrived early for our six top and grabbed a drink at the bar. Great bartender who crafted his drinks well and quickly with a full bar. Nice manhattan's and old fashioned. Greeted and seated for our reservation. Warm friendly atmosphere with large footprint and warm wood tones. A gelato cooler is present as you enter. A nice menu with a wide selection of appetizers and Italian entrees. The calamari was tasty. We had an assortment of entrees including pizza, lasagna which were all well prepared. the wine list is well chosen. We had a very nice brunello.
