Our food was excellent, service also. Two of us had the short rib rigotini, which was excellent, and we had enough for a 2nd meal. The other parties ordered ribeye steak and chicken parmesan. Such generous servings and everything was delicious! When we discussed our meal afterwards, our only complaint was that our table wobbled terribly and it needed attention (but we didn't say anything). The restaurant is lovely and everyone was so polite I hope they will build up a great clientele. We really enjoyed our meal. read more

Many of these reviews are of different Travinia locations, some of them very negative. My family and I have only been to the one in Fountain Inn and we have always had pleasant experiences. The food is splendid and the service is laudable. It is a definite gem in our little city south of Greenville. Brad & Tory! Two wonderful and beautiful people tending the bar. Amazing hospitality, and wonderful food. We were there a few nights ago for the happy hour, and what a wonderful experience we had. We sat at the bar which is our normal thing to do, and they had five dollar glasses of wine and $10 martinis. They had several appetizers to choose from and so we ordered chicken Parmesan skewers. Very delicious and only eight dollars. We are retired and living off of limited income so we look for excellent pricing and deals. Travinia Italian kitchen foots the bill wonderfully! We are moving to the Upstate In the near future and will return to this wonderful Italian restaurant. read more

Granted it was Valentine's Day, but we ordered take out. We were told to pick it up 25 minutes later. We were there on time. Our order was not ready for another 60 minutes!! On the plus side, the order was filled correctly and the food was fairly decent, but the wait was unacceptable. People were showing up with reservations, but were unable to be seated. They should have at least taken something off the overpriced bill (a $6 salad with the entree was a little lettuce, a few croutons and some dressing), or given us a dessert or something. read more

We've been to this restaurant before and always had a great experience. We love sitting at the bar, but tonight was disappointing. The two bartenders seemed completely uninterested in providing basic service--taking drink orders, giving us water (even after we asked), taking our food order, or checking in to see if everything was okay. We even had to grab our own silverware from a table. On top of that, part of our order never arrived (we ordered bread but never received it), and we were mistakenly charged for a bottle of wine we never ordered. When we politely tried to address our concerns with the female bartender, she responded with a bad attitude, and the atmosphere quickly became uncomfortable. I asked the female bartender for her name and she refused to answer. The other bartender, who had long braids, also contributed to the hostility. The manager, who was incredibly kind, seemed mortified but had little opportunity to intervene as the two bartenders continued their unprofessional behavior. I've never had an experience like this at any restaurant before. It's unfortunate when great businesses suffer due to poor staff. read more

Pre- arranged large private party, 25 people. 1 server for the entire evening. No beverage orders were taken, all parties had to walk to the bar. When orders were taken, food came out about 15 minutes later and included the appetizers, side dishes and main courses. Salads were missed, the pasta tasted as if right out a blue box. When asked if our waiter had any help for the group he stated he had "everyone". The service sucked, food was below par and the "private room" was so loud, we could not talk to each other. read more

What a disappointment. Last New Year's Eve we booked the private room, and while we did have some delay in getting our food, which we chalked up to them just opening, the overall night was great. This year not so much. I booked early because we really liked the private room. Our reservation was for 10 people at 6:30, the restaurant was maybe 75% full when we arrived. We were seated fairly quickly. It all went downhill from there. Elaine & Brad tried, but they were tending bar for the restaurant and trying to take care of our table. It took forever to order drinks, and equally as long to get them. We eventually started walking to the bar to get drinks, to expedite the process. They also ran out of Ginger Beer, so no more Moscow Mules. We ordered our dinner and were a bit shocked to hear that they were also out of Baked Potatoes??? After ordering appetizers & dinner, Elaine came back and said that there were only 2 orders of Calamari left, and we had ordered 3... so we had to substitute a different app. When the apps were served they informed us they were out of appetizer plates??? Dinner dishes were hit & miss, some folks were happy some not. Meat not cooked to temp, too much sauce, not enough sauce, and 2 meals came out 15 minutes after the first ones. And surprisingly the steak ordered came WITH a baked potato, which apparently was just a miscommunication between our server & the kitchen. However, they also ran out of Sauvignon Blanc. Yes it was New Year's Eve, but by the time we got our food, 8:30ish, there were only 3-4 tables seated in the main dining room and 1 person sitting at the bar. Far from busy, especially considering it was NYE. An automatic 20% gratuity was added, which normally I would not complain about, but considering the overall service we received it definitely wasn't deserved. We really want neighborhood restaurants to succeed, but given our experience it will be hard to return. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. This place is horrible. Not even gonna call it a restaurant. OVER PRICED OVER COOKED. Looks and Tastes like microwaved trash. Every time I order from them every single this is wrong. They overcook all the pasta, the risotto, the scallops, and the protein. The pasta is split mush even when I request Al dente same with the risotto. Every time I order a salad the salad is missing. The 14$ "jumbo" scallops are the size of a nickel. When I order veal, I get chicken. The dasher always messages me to say they are still at the restaurant waiting for the order even though they send me pictures and the restaurant is completely empty on a Friday night (which says it all) yet my dasher has to wait so long that the food isn't just completely wrong it's cold by the time I get it even though the dasher has a heat bag. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy and wouldn't feed a stray animal their food. read more

I ordered the steak blue cheese appetizer salad. It was without a doubt the worst pieces of meat I have eaten. The steak ( which was ordered medium rare) was microwaved, all grey, and coated with some sort of "rub" that tasted like a commercial seasoning, thick and heavy. I am a professional food critic, winner of 5 James Beard Awards, I never leave reviews online but this was so beyond the pale I would never want anyone to waste a dime here. Wow--Travinia is an absolute gem! From start to finish, everything impressed: the food, the service, and the warm, inviting ambiance. Their bruschetta was a flavor explosion--fresh, vibrant, and perfectly composed. I had the salmon, and every element on the plate was beautifully balanced and thoughtfully seasoned. We ended the meal with the crème brûlée, which was silky, crisp-topped perfection. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly, and the prices felt more than fair for the quality. Horrible from the beginning. The place is FREEZING cold on the inside. I had to wear my coat the whole time I was there. It was a GOOD 30 minutes after we sat down before anyone came around for our drink order. If we didn't have to ask for them, we'd probably never get the menus (still didn't have them after our drinks). Waitress asked if we were ready to order, and we said yes, but then she disappeared for about another 10 minutes. The food was nothing to wait for. The fettuccine alfredo tasted like dog poop. The chicken in the chicken marsala didn't taste like it was even cooked. The waitress argued with someone in our party about what he ordered so there was an extra plate of food around the table. The fish tasted like frozen Gortons Fisherman breaded fish. The broccoli was in fist size chunks, probably straight from the freezer. A waste of $100+. I AM reviewing the restaurant on Pleasantburg - the waitress said the reviews online are confused with other Travinia restaurants in the area. Honey, the people spoke and they ain't wrong. This place appeared out of nowhere. Was going to a restaurant nearby and then saw this and pivoted. The food was really good and Italian is something Greenville is missing overall. We sat in the bar area and enjoyed our drinks with some of the most polite bartenders we could have had. Got a Moscow mule and it was one of the best that I have had! The experience was amazing except at the end of our meal there was a couple and their friend that were acting extremely rude towards the bartenders. I believe their names were David and Giuliana who were berating the bartenders to the point where other customers in the restaurant politely told them that they had lost their mind. The staff handled the uncomfortable situation well and while I would be embarrassed acting the way they did after repeated stating "they were in the industry" it was a celebration by all as they walked out the door. It was uncomfortable the way he was attacking the female bartender but the nice male bartender intervened to assist with a bad situation. Definitely will return to support a nice business! read more

I have personally been to thousand restaurants around the world. But I have never been more insulted by the staff of this place. I asked for water three times and they wouldn't give it to me. I never even got silverware so I had to get it myself. After I told the bartender about being neglectful, she charged me for an extra bottle of wine on my bill. And then they said that I was insulting them for pointing the errors on the bill. Both bartenders literally got aggressive at my party for pointing out any errors that they had. Again, I worked the food industry for many many years. When we complained about the service, they were insulting to us directly in front of the manager. I wouldn't go back here if It was the last bar in Greenville. And I don't say that lightly. read more
