Service was very quick and we really enjoyed our server, she was real with us about portion sizes since we wanted to share a couple of things. We split the Meatballs & the Vin Rosa Pasta - all of it was delicious! My only note was they definitely just added the one meatball for $5 and split it on our portions, rather than splitting the whole meatball dish but we didn't mind too much. The vintage flare (like the plates and decor) mixed with the modern base catches your eye the moment you walk in to let you know this place is special. The staff is prompt and friendly. There is certainly more than one thing you will want on the menu so you will need to come again! I enjoyed dining by the spooky children photos on the wall. I like quirky elements. The food was very good and the drinks did not disappoint. The venue needs some sound mitigation because we could hear the table on the far side of the room as we were on the opposite far side wall. Installing a few ceiling baffles would absorb that easily. Came here to celebrate a birthday and the server right away offered everyone a glass of Prosecco or dessert. We got seated at the corner booth and it was really hot outside so the AC was working hard that day. The unit must be right above that booth because I felt water dripping down to the both and splashing my back. It was just a few drops so I just asked for napkins to wipe it down. They do sell pull tabs if you want to kill a little time while waiting for your food. The service started out really good until after we got our food. Our server seemed to have went MIA so we had to wait a while for boxes and then also wait for a while for our tabs. The salad was a good starter to share with my group. I don't eat frog legs but was told it paired really well with the sauce it came with. The cluck and moo special was a lot smaller than I thought would be and was not worth the price in my opinion. The indulgence burger was good but it was overloaded with cheese and you can add fries for an additional price. I had the steak bavette and it was tasteless without the chimichurri sauce on top. I always like to try a little bit if the steak first since it was house marinated, but it tasted like I was eating a plain steak without any type of seasoning..couldn't even taste a little salt. Yep I went with kids. Some say BOLD. not really for kids to just put it out there. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. As any parent knows, dining out with kids can sometimes be a bit stressful, especially when they're feeling energetic and restless. The owner; I'm assuming- saw the stress on my face and offered a reassuring acknowledgment that everything was okay and for me to relax , which made all the difference in helping me relax and enjoy my meal which was As for the food--absolutely delicious! My friend and I stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening. I ordered the mix & match sliders: 1- What The Cluck Slider & 1- K&R Cheeseburger Slider with fries. When our food came out the fries were not hot, so we did ask for new ones, and round two they were hot. FYI- fries are zesty (the best kind). K&R cheeseburger slider was my fav. Next time I would not get the what the clucker slider as it was very dry and just not good- little flavor. Our service was good. He checked in periodically. Restaurant is decorated nicely. The walls feature busy wallpaper and the tables have small plates reminiscent of Grandma's fine china collection. We had reservations on a Sunday night and were seated at a large corner booth. Even though we were in the corner, it was still hard to hear the members of my party. I can imagine that in the middle of the dining room it could get very loud. We started with drinks. Being a BIG mezcalrita fan, I had to try Tommy's #2..and it did not disappoint. We ordered food next. Several members of my party had been to K&R before, so I knew the drill. Most of the plates were small, so it's best to order several items. I was happy to see that they had gluten free options. I ordered the butter chicken and the cauliflower burnt ends. The butter chicken was a relatively small portion, but was delicious. I was confused that the dish was declared gluten free, but naan was still included. I wasn't sure it was gluten free, so I just gave it to my spouse. The cauliflower burnt ends were also tasty. With both dishes, I felt satisfied, but not super full. If you are someone with a bigger appetite, it may be wise to order more food. If your group is up for sharing, this would be a good place to order several dishes and share bites. Since a large part of my group had been here before, I knew the prices were pretty high for what you get going in. The good news, however, is the food was delicious. Date night at Kitchen and Rail was fun for a Sunday night! Ambiance was perfect for date night... busy enough to be fun, but quiet enough to hear each other easily. Service was quick and attentive. BEST espresso martini I've ever had! Even better than the ones I've had in Minneapolis or even in New York City. I was a bit disappointed with the food, though. We ordered Crispy Duck, but there was absolutely no "Crispy" part of the duck. Tasty duck, but definitely not crispy. We almost ordered the Curry Thai Peanut Noodles from their seasonal menu, but changed our minds when the waiter mentioned they were served cold. We opted for the Cheeseburger Sliders instead. The sliders were actually pretty good, but a less adventurous choice. But we saved the best for last... the Italian Donuts were amazing!!! I ordered the Chilaquiles and my spouse ordered the Monte Cristo. The Chilaquiles were honestly the best I have ever had - anywhere! I wasn't expecting them to be as great as they were, wow!! First visit. Walked in and loved the ambience right away. We were there at 1:30 on a Sunday for brunch. Service was great. Hostess (woman who is a friend of the owners) was great. Ordered dry rub wings to start and they were perfect! The seasoning was so good. Nice combination of spices and sugar and prepared exactly right. Made us excited for what else was coming.... However, the Avocado Benedict was disappointing. Would have preferred simple sliced or sauted avocado. Instead it was an overly seasoned guacamole inspired spread that took over the whole dish. And the English muffin was completely soggy. The hollandaise sauce could have toned down the avocado mess, but it was flavorless. Also the side salad I chose had a lovely house dressing, but it's glory was muddled with the pedestrian iceberg lettuce/red cabbage it was paired with. Should have been a spring mix. Also the iceberg didn't seem super fresh. My friend's Chicken & Waffle combo was also disappointing. Too much work having to de-bone the chicken to eat it with the waffle. A boneless chicken breast, sautéed in a sweet glaze would have been more appropriate. Or a savory glaze to play up a sweet/savory pairing with the syrup. My Old Fashioned was good. My friend had a drink, not sure what it was but she liked it. Looked like pink lemonade. We were a little disappointed that the first drinks we chose off the menu were not available due to a shift to a new seasonal cocktail menu coming in the next few days. Not a problem, but maybe mention that before or cross them out on the menu. Overall, it was an okay meal, but I expected more based on Yelp reviews. What a pleasant surprise in the middle of a strip mall! Vibe was similar to restaurants in North Loop. Mix of table sizes with comfy chairs. Nice size bar with ample room to eat. Toes in the sand was a solid choice for a pre dinner cocktail. For apps we tried the smoked salmon dip, cauliflower burnt ends and the cheese platter. They were all tasty and we really enjoyed the cheese choices. We also had the wedge salad, really good. I'm not usually a pork belly girl but it was cooked perfectly. Beef stroganoff and filet mignon sliders finished our choices, both were yummy but I did feel like the sliders were a little pricey for the size. The service was attentive and helpful. I loved the Toes in the Sand Cocktail which was the perfect summer drink (the orange drink pictured)! I also ordered the Tommy #2 which was good but would have rather had the Lavender Cocktail that my friend ordered and I got to try. The wedge salad was so good!! The thick bacon pieces were amazing... I would 100% order this again. The french fries met expectation but the dipping sauce that came along with it tasted like mayonnaise and was bland. I asked for a side of ranch to dip them in instead. We then finished our meals by sharing the donuts which melted in your mouth! I suggest if you have four adults to order two donut plates because they only come with five small pieces. The waiter was so kind and over all did a great job! I wasn't sure what to expect considering it's in a strip mall but I should know better than that by now! Some of my favorite hidden gems have come from strip malls and this is no exception! My only complaint would be asking for more patio seating but given the location they've done the best they can with the space in my opinion so really there's not much to remedy that without getting a whole new space! I loved the variety of the mocktails available - often I feel that businesses don't really offer anything special for those who aren't drinking/don't drink to enjoy on and that certainly isn't the case here! I indulged in a mocktail espresso martini while my friend enjoyed some lovely wine. The food was absolutely incredible!! Wow oh wow, I cannot express how good it was. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something I wouldn't normally and 10/10 recommend it. Everything we ordered was a hit but I would definitely recommend the BLB Waffle and the Italian Donuts!! We had just enough for the two of us and the dipping sauces were diiiiiiivine. One of the best places I've ever been to. This restaurant had been on my list of places to try for some time and oh am I glad I choose it. My parents are I went on a Sunday evening and were kindly greeted at the door and sat right away. We ordered an app and drinks to start. Since they were out of the salmon dip, we got the fry trio instead! The 3 sauces that come with are so yummy! We had beef stroganoff, Blackened Roughy, and Arancini di Bolognese. Came to brunch with my friend on a Sunday morning. Such a cool vibe inside. I loved the decor and the furniture. Started with a French press coffee and mimosa carafe. My friend and I split everything. Wanted to try it all! Do yourself a favor and order the big hunk of pork belly with this espresso frosting. It was to die for. I would come back just for this. We also got the creole Benedict and the meat lover scramble. Both were great. We over stayed our 90 min reservation and were kindly asked to finish our mimosas in their lounge area in the corner. She was the right combination of friendly, talkative, and attentive; she kept us updated on our order frequently, which helped as there was a substantial wait. Three of us had the Chilaquiles. I'd say they were perfect, but someone should've warned me that they were spicy so I wouldn't have added hot sauce. My husband's Creole Benedict was flavorful. We all got Italian donuts to share as a dessert. These were crispy and delicious, accompanied by a berry compote and a decadently creamy cheese coffee-flavored frosting on the side. I LOVE Kitchen and Rail, although it is not the place for everyone. The food here is always amazing and I love their rotating seasonal menu. The Caesar salad is to die for and the filet mignon sliders are amazing. I've had many different items from their menu, and while not all of them have been my favorite, they have all been flavorful and tasty. This is a SMALL PLATE type restaurant and it is on the more expensive side (for Eagan) which means it will not be everyone's cup of tea. This isn't somewhere I would eat weekly but save for special occasions. I do also like their happy hour and it has some more affordable options for people just wanting to try it out. The atmosphere is very eclectic, trendy yet antique. It's a fun place to have cocktails with the girls. The service has always been very quick and attentive, even during busy dinner times. read more

I went to Kitchen and Rail with three friends at the end of happy hour and to have dinner. Firstly, the happy hour drink menu is incredible. They serve top shelf wine and spirits (not typical "house" wine and "rail" drinks). I was quite impressed with that. Our server was Grace who was quite pleasant and attentive. The owner, Victor, stopped by all the tables just to check in. You don't see that very often any more. It shows he truly cares about his establishment and reputation. We were thanked on the way out but a lovely lady who was wiping down tables and readying to turn them. It may have been Victor's wife but I'm not sure. I had the Vin Rose Pasta which was a perfect serving with ample garlic and parmesan. One had the filet mignon sandwiches (sliders) that were incredible; another had the salmon with miso glaze on mashed cauliflower which she said was divine. The last had the Fall pumpkin soup which was a favorite for the season. The restaurant isn't loud. We were seated at a booth. It was getting busy by the time we left yet we were still able to carry on a conversation without shouting. The prices are super reasonable and the servings sizes are totally manageable and appropriate. I didn't have any leftover and felt quite satiated. We felt VERY welcome at Kitchen and Rail (our first visit and not our last!) I can't wait to take my husband! We got there late, about 9pm (closes at 10) and kitchen closes at 9:15, with last call for drinks at 9:30. Our waitress let us know that very quickly so we could get everything in. Espresso martinis were great - non-traditional as they have coconut added and a kind of cold foam on top, and they were STRONG. Definitely getting your moneys worth! Vin rose pasta was great! Many of their options are very affordable (pasta was $12 for a generous serving). Only docking a star because I wish they had more vegetarian entrees. We had a rare date night and decided to try K&R because my husband hadn't been and I hadn't gone since the opening. I could t get a reservation so we tried our luck at 5:30. It was busy but the host offered us a spot in the "lounge" which was 3 couches and some tiny little tables. Logistically eating dinner was a huge challenge- a bit like eating a tv dinner on your lap. My plate actually fell on the ground and I did a 5 second rule and picked the slider right back up! Old fashioned was great. When you recognize you are next to a TJ Maxx and Nautical Bowls you may question if you are in the right spot and indeed you are. With a large parking lot and quick service upon entry, it felt totally welcoming. We came here for a work outing and the online reservation process was seamless. There are email reminders and even a rule that tables can only be reserved for 1.5 hours to ensure traffic can continue to flow. (I don't actually think they monitor this by the way but totally understand the policy recommendation). Happy hour runs 4-6 pm M - F so it was enjoyable to be able to get some $5 apps. We got the mini cheeseburger and cauliflower burnt ends. Both were excellent! Main entrees were also perfect. I highly recommend the chicken caesar salad (you can get with or without anchovies). The general manager even made his way around to each table to say hello and ask how everyone was doing. I would come back again for sure. Thank you! read more

Brunch is one of my favorite meals & I was excited to check this one out. This is one that is definitely work checking out! The menu has so much to choose from! Creole Benedict - Andouille sausage patties on toasted english muffins, topped w/ two poached eggs & creole hollandaise. Smoked Salmon Benedict - Dill caper cream cheese on toasted english muffins, house smoked salmon, two poached eggs & topped w/ dill caper hollandaise. Mimosa - you can go - $9/glass or $35/carafe & get a choice of pineapple, grapefruit, orange juice, or cranberry. I enjoyed the cranberry! They are located in a strip mall area with plenty of parking. Restaurant has a cool vibe and fair prices. read more
