We walked in and we're greeted with smiles by everyone working. It was pleasant. The decor of the restaurant was beautifully done. Hot coffee to start. The Belgian waffle had a hint of vanilla. It was delicious. The scrambled eggs were puffy and cooked to perfection. The eggs Benedict was out of this world. Creamy hollandaise sauce and fresh spinach complimented the toasted English muffin with a side of sausage patties and home fries (that didn't need ketchup) All in all this is going to be our new breakfast spot. But get there and be ready to wait, because there is minimal seating with high demand. We were lucky to sit right away, and noticed a number of people patiently waiting in the lobby area. Another mom and pop style eatery in Middlebury! Kitchen 64 is relatively new - it used to be the location of a bakery across from Four Corners Grocery. Now it's transformed into a cute diner with an outdoor patio. Inside is spacious with a combo of tables and booths. The service was extremely friendly and efficient. I forget her name, but she was personable. She was busy and had worked about 10 days straight but always attentive to my table. The food was very tasty! My favorite was probably the coffee. It's hit or miss at diners and theirs is a hit. Thumbs up for timely coffee refills. I ordered Irish Eggs Benedict which comes with corned beef hash. The food came out so fast I barely touched my coffee in time. The hollandaise sauce was tasty although I wish it were a bit brighter in flavor. Hash was great and English muffins were crispy on the bottom - another win! I recommend visiting for breakfast or lunch. Then you can cut across the street to the greenway for a walk. First time at Kitchen 64 and I'm happy we went there. We shop at Four Corners grocery store across from Kitchen 64 and I noticed that it's always busy. I figured that it must be good. The diner is very modern, bright, and clean. My wife and I admired the paintings on the walls. The outdoor patio seating also looks inviting on a nice sunny day. They have a nice basic breakfast menu. I'm always looking for the unusual gourmet breakfast, but this place is perfect for your typical breakfast made with care. We were seated quickly and our friendly waitress gave us plenty of time to look over the menu to place our orders. Turns out, our waitress, Jen, is someone I've known since we were kids. Haven't seen her in years. Jen brought over our drinks and it seemed like we just started to sip our coffee and tea and our food arrived. Crazy fast service. It almost seemed like magic with how fast they cooked our breakfast. And it was cooked well and tasty. My wife had an omelette with sausage, tomato and cheese with rye toast and home fries. We went about two weeks ago. It isn't the best breakfast place in the area but it isn't the worst either. I got the philly cheese omelette and it was pretty good- there were a lot of peppers and onions and I wish there was a little bit more steak in it. Wish we could put zero stars we have been dining here often sense they have opened with family and friends came for what we thought would be a nice lunch at a little after 2 today. We got soup and grilled cheese the soup was cold with hardly anything in it. The grilled cheese looked and tasted as if it was a prison sandwich with unmelted cheese and a block of tomato we asked if they can fix it and we were told that the grill was shut off. When we received the bill the sandwich was still on there we asked the waitress to have the cheap owner take it off we watched the owner roll her eyes and only charged us for the fries. When we told the owner how unhappy we were with our over priced and disgusting lunch she did not seem to care at all and said we shouldn't have come at closing when we came a hour before we will be taking out business alongside our friends and family's business elsewhere. Having been going there for a couple of weeks but the food wasn't something everyone might say. The breakfast sandwiches are one of my favorites but all the time my bread is always soggy and i don't know if it's just the air but it's always getting soggy and doesn't always taste that pleasant. This place is OK. I probably won't return based on our experience. We decided to stop here Monday for breakfast since they were open and it was a holiday (Memorial Day). I had called to ask if they were open and whoever answered the phone was RUDE. That should have been our first hint about how our experience was going to be. My husband walked over to the hostess and asked "Do we need to put our name down to be seated?", she looked at him angrily and said "WAIT". We waited and realized there was actually no wait list, she just called people at random. We waited about 10 minutes and noticed the same table had been dirty the entire time we waited. We were finally sat and the waitress definitely redeemed our experience a little bit. She was very friendly and took our order quickly. 20 minutes later that same table was still dirty by the way. Food was mediocre, not the best I've ever had. Typical eggs and bacon. Toast was very dry and the coffee tasted burnt. It was a normal price for my husband and I and we left full which matters most.
