I would love to get into the store and get my hands on a package of those, but alas, unless I shop between Monday and Friday, 11-4, I am out of luck. Imagine my horror as we pulled up at 2pm on a Saturday (after coming here on Saturdays before) after going to the store and buying everything my hubby needed to make me his amazing Lobster Ravioli, which is actually Midwest Pastas ravioli, but he makes a killer sauce for it, and its closed. So basically if you have a 9-5 job, you will never, ever be able to discover the wonderful things they offer here, which is a shame, and odd. Please for the love of God, open back up on Saturdays, thanks.

What is love? Well, that's easy. It's fresh pasta! If you adore Italian good...if you're a budding…read morechef or just want to up your pasta game on date night, this local business is your wingman. Midwest Pasta provides fresh pasta and flour to local restaurants. So they make their products in batches -- but anyone can walk in and purchase. There is always a supply of fresh pasta in the refrigerated section, as well as some frozen. I've had their mushroom ravioli, fettucini, gnocchi, pappardelle, and meat tortellini. Everything is DELICIOSO!! Their customer service is awesome. I stopped in to buy some fresh pasta, and was advised on what might pair best for my meal plan; and because I was traveling got an ice pack to help the pasta stay cooled. There is also a very small display of imported olives, olive oil, pesto, etc. However, the options are limited and display is limited to just a couple shelves. This is not a huge grocery, but it will accommodate small foodies out exploring the Cherokee Street Benton Park neighborhood. Double check store hours. They DO close early. So be sure to check hours and plan your visit accordingly. You'll miss out if you think you're stopping by after work or on the weekend.

There's both tables and booths along the walls. If you're in a larger party I def recommend calling ahead. We've had cocktails here, chicken parm sandwich, grilled chicken panino sandwich, fratellis salad, chicken Alfredo, tutto mare, spaghetti, the al formaggio, and the affogato. Everything has been delicious, fresh, and hot! The only complaint I'd make is that although it says panini for sandwiches they aren't the traditional paninis that are pressed & grilled but instead are just sandwiches so that was disappointing to find out after the fact. The staff are so friendly and attentive we hadn't been for almost 2 months and our waitress still remembered us & what I usually order. I love getting the al formaggio but instead of ravioli I get fettuccine, I love being able to have a portion of all 3 yummy sauces they have. Overall a great restaurant! I love that it's family owned, fresh ingredients, and a lot of stuff made from scratch (complimentary bread is yummy). My only true complaint would be that they don't sell that creamy Italian dressing by the bottle, would totally buy it all the time it's so yummy! Anytime we're in the area we'll be stopping by.

Pizza dough is soft and chewy at the crust, but in the center it is crunchy enough to bite. Combination of textures to cheese to sauce was sufficient. I added a little extra pepper for some spice, but not necessary. Katie did it right, so come through to this wonderful establishment.

I have been here a number of times over the years and each time is different but one thing remains the same - the lack of customer service. This visit the restaurant was resetting before the end of an evening baseball game and the team work was a big miss. The hosts were not aware of which servers were still on the floor. Numerous patio tables were dirty with dishes and glasses. They did not help clear a path for a walker ability device. The menus were sticky. Then over 5 minutes passed before anyone spoke to us. A server walked by and we made awkward eye contact before he said he would try to find our server. Then our server came out and we were well than ready to order. I gave all the items for my order from drink to entree but the teamwork still failed. The drink sat, the sharing plates were late, the food although extremely delicious sat at expo... I know how this business likes to operate being a past server and it was so disappointing. The front staff was understaffed and more focussed on closing than assisting the current guests. Sad experience overall for such a great business. I know I will be back and I hope things turn around.

I'd say it's definitely a "sharing" spot, which I love, perfect for a group of friends, but also great for solo entrées since the portions work either way. During my visit, there was a bit of a delay: our pizza dish took longer than our pastas, but our server handled it really well and stayed super sweet throughout. So, it didn't take away too much from the experience. Overall, this place is a hidden gem. I was surprised it wasn't busier, considering how great the food and service were. Just a heads-up: parking can be really tricky since it's neighborhood street parking, so if you get lucky, you get lucky. Definitely worth a visit!

Tons of textures colliding so every bite is an adventure of flavor and love. They tout handmade pastas, and some stuffed pizzas. I want to try their pies, but I fear the ricotta gnocchi will have me in a chokehold for months to come! No reservations, no pretense, just good food in a cozy spot!
