Long story short -- I highly recommend my endodontist, Dr. Rude from Kirkland Endo! I had a root canal and crown done in early 2024. Later this year, during one of my weekly Invisalign check-ins, my orthodontist noticed a small cyst forming above the tooth that had the root canal and told me to get it checked out. I first went back to my old dentist (whom I've since switched from), and they referred me back to my original endodontist for a re-treatment. But since my previous experience there wasn't great, I decided not to go back. Instead, I found a new place -- Kirkland Endo. They require a referral from your general dentist, so I called my current dentist's office, and they immediately sent over all my records. Kirkland Endo scheduled me for a consultation the very next day and the actual treatment the day after. Super efficient! Everyone at Kirkland Endo was incredibly kind and professional. My treatment was done by Dr. Rude, and the experience was fantastic! He was kind, polite, confident, and had such a warm smile -- honestly gave me friendly "Dr. Carlisle from Twilight" vibes! The whole procedure took about an hour. From the moment the strawberry-flavored numbing gel went on to the very end, I didn't feel a hint of discomfort. The best part? He was able to treat the root canal by making a tiny hole through my crown -- then sealed it up perfectly. I didn't even need to get a new crown! Last Friday I had a root canal done by Dr. Rude. Friendly staff and Dr. Rude was the consummate professional, talking through every step. I'm a needle-phobe and he explained the process, having me look away before he started. I never felt a thing, not even a pinch. Dr. Rude instructed about dealing with post procedure pain. I never had any pain after the anesthetic wore off. I think he is so good and precise at what he does that apparently nothing gets traumatized. read more

My mom was referred to Dr Rude two weeks ago for an emergency root canal. The dental assistant Stacey was very kind and gentle with mom who was in a wheelchair. My mom was very nervous but Dr Rude explained everything very well to her that she felt a lot more comfortable with the root canal. They were very fast and were done in an hour. I recently had my 2nd root canal. The first was several years ago and I was sent to Dr. Rude by my dentist in the same building. I had dreaded the procedure and put it off for years. It was painfree and pleasant. The staff was all polite and kind. Shortly after that my daughter had a deep cavity the dentist thought should have a root canal and sent us back to Dr. Rude. He did the exam but decided that she shouldn't have one due to her age and the size of her roots and being so young. He sent a filling material with us to the dentist and communicated his treatment plan we with them directly. I appreciated his thoughtful approach, to this day she doesnt have any problems with that tooth. Fast forward many years and I broke a tooth, went to my new dentist and was not happy with their work. They said I may need a root canal and we scheduled for the dentist to do it, but after the awful work she did on my crown prep and my tooth becoming more painful that ever I cancelled and went back to Dr. Rude for the root canal, I no longer trusted my dentist. Wow! That was seriously the most pleasant dental procedure I've ever had. I barely felt the needles from the novocain. He said I may have pain afterwards - there was none! Just wanted to let anyone who may need a root canal, that Kirkland Endodontics is truly the best! Over the last 10 years ive had one by Dr Munson, and two by Dr Rude. Had a procedure done just a few weeks ago, and it was another great experience. Each time i was treated, they were informative, proffesional, caring, and i could tell, really expert in their work while they were actually performing the procedure. Root canal procedures are very precise, and you want to go to someone like these two, who are experienced and skilled in what they do, and you can trust that they will do the absolute best work possible every time. I had a rather deep cavity filled and afterwards, experienced some sensitivity to cold. The tooth also had a crack which was only going to get larger over time, so my dentist recommended a root canal followed by a crown restoration and referred me to Dr. Munson for the root canal procedure. I've had root canals before and their reputation for being unpleasant is a myth. Mine was completely painless and the cold sensitivity is now gone. A root canal is nothing to fear and I highly recommend Dr. Munson and Kirkland Endodontics. read more

This is the best dental place I have found in Washington state! Whenever I need a root canal, Dr. Munson at Kirkland Endodontics definitely is my only choice since no one is better. Dr. Munson is truly amazing. I'm afraid of needles, but he is so magic that I didn't feel any pain at all. I wish all other dentists could do the same. I got more than one root canal surgeries with Dr. Munson and they were all super awesome. The surgeries were seamless, the experiences were great and I never felt uncomfortable or painful. Lying on their chair with dental work, I felt relaxed and this was extremely rare at other dental places, even with a simple filing. I believe doctors need to build up their skills with experience, Dr. Munson for sure is an outstanding experienced doctor. His technical skills has pushed my understanding boundaries that dental works can be pleasant for a patient! It is a great surprise! Visiting him does not need to take a deep breath as I often did at other places (Dr. Munson is a specialist and I wish he did ordinary dental work as well!) He is very friendly and a role model of taking cares of patients needs. I strongly encourage people who need root canal visit him and for sure he is the BEST. Dr. Munson's dental assistant is super awesome as well. Elaine is very thoughtful. She asked me whether I felt cold and put the blanket on me in such a caring and warm way. She sincerely takes care of how a patient feels and brought me a cute unicorn to play during the surgery. Other staff are also very helpful. I needed to get the dental work done within two weeks due to a job change and my family dental place was fully booked. Susan called a lot of place and found me one. Always 2 sides! A review making unfounded, slanderous accusations is shameful. Because of privacy laws the person making the accusations own drug history can not be disclosed publicly by a healthcare provider. As a retired healthcare professional I guarantee this office knows her drug history and the back round of there employees. I agree with office manager Rita...There is always two sides to a story. I have seen Dr Munson and his assistant Michelle for treatment multiple times in last couple months, Michelle was wonderful, she's very knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable. I think this is the first time I have written a review as too busy working as a physician and feel that most providers do their best to be ethical and compassionate . Dr. Tom Rude failed on both points . I have had a root canal done before and the aftermath was quite painful despite the good job done by another endodonist . So this time I was fairly anxious and as last time was in a fair amount of pain prior to the procedure . Dr Rude offered 2 pills of low dose narcotic . I was then given nitrous oxide at my request . The procedure went fairly well but afterwards I was not given any prescription for pain medicine . He just flat out said there will be no prescription despite our previous agreement . Under the haze of nitrous oxide I stumbled out to my car ( with no check about my current mental and physical status ) and waited about 20 minutes for the nitrous to wear off. Once it did , I noticed a sharp pain in my jaw , which is unusual given I just received a long acting local . I went back to the office and asked to see Dr Rude - 3:45 pm . ' I'm sorry he has gone home for the day ' . I asked to see a colleague - there was no one in the office . I asked to have him paged as my pain got worse . There was no response for an hour . Then I received a phone call from the office manager , and not Dr Rude , stating he would pretty much consider pain meds in the morning . . I couldn't f asleep that night , as I did prior to the surgery given the pain . I seriously question the ethics of Dr. Rude , and he is definitely not trustworthy or compassionate . Simply stated , this was traumatic and I wouldn't be surprised if one day there are some restrictions on his license and a few lawsuits leveled at him . read more

This was my first trip to this office. I was so nervous when I got there but the staff was amazing and welcomed me. They took me to my room and then the doctor came in(Dr Munson)I got so nervous again but he took the time to explain the procedure, which made me more comfortable. And boy let me tell you he can give good shots. I never even felt him give me the shots(and 1 was in the roof of my mouth). I just had my first exam and typically it's better to write reviews after more than one visit but my experience was just THAT outstanding. I appreciate the way that Dr. Rude explained everything to me and told me what my different options are. I am actually looking forward to my root canal next Tuesday (weird of me, I know) I came to this office as a recommendation from one of my co-workers and can see why she spoke so highly of them. I used to see another endodontist and after a failed root canal, I decided to switch and I am very glad that I did. Not to mention, this office is extremely clean and the (front and back office) staff is very knowledgeable. UPDATE: 4/11/16 had my re-treatment on Tuesday of last week and was told that the abscess would go away in a couple of months but he did such a good job it feels like it will be gone by next week already!
