Long story short -- I highly recommend my endodontist, Dr. Rude from Kirkland Endo!…read more I had a root canal and crown done in early 2024. Later this year, during one of my weekly Invisalign check-ins, my orthodontist noticed a small cyst forming above the tooth that had the root canal and told me to get it checked out. I first went back to my old dentist (whom I've since switched from), and they referred me back to my original endodontist for a re-treatment. But since my previous experience there wasn't great, I decided not to go back. Instead, I found a new place -- Kirkland Endo. They require a referral from your general dentist, so I called my current dentist's office, and they immediately sent over all my records. Kirkland Endo scheduled me for a consultation the very next day and the actual treatment the day after. Super efficient! Everyone at Kirkland Endo was incredibly kind and professional. My treatment was done by Dr. Rude, and the experience was fantastic! He was kind, polite, confident, and had such a warm smile -- honestly gave me friendly "Dr. Carlisle from Twilight" vibes! The whole procedure took about an hour. From the moment the strawberry-flavored numbing gel went on to the very end, I didn't feel a hint of discomfort. The best part? He was able to treat the root canal by making a tiny hole through my crown -- then sealed it up perfectly. I didn't even need to get a new crown! I walked out feeling great and so relieved -- literally sat in my car afterward and wrote this review right away!

I'm a needle-phobe and he explained the process, having me look away before he started. I never felt a thing, not even a pinch. Dr. Rude instructed about dealing with post procedure pain. Who says that living in Seattle is healthy... well, we generally are... I digress, if indeed it's time for the deed, and you need your tooth filled with something to keep it from being lost forever to time, Dr. Rude is probably the doctor you want. He shares his practice with another doctor, and their office is pretty darn clean and modern. They pump in some late 90's and 2000's music, and fill the air with something soothing. They are professional, gentle and thoughtful, explaining the process if you are interested, and provide the right dose of pain killers to make sure you are pain free during the process. I was in and out before I knew it. If I end up in a terrible place and needing another root canal, I would most likely head back here again; fingers crossed I take care of my teeth a little better.

Seriously look no further. I learned this the hard way after a back molar root canal done a while ago started to fail. I went on a root canal world tour, consulting with specialists in Canada, Florida and California, all of whom told me my molar was doomed, too far gone, and that we should pull it out. Enter Dr. Kang, who confidently said, he could save my tooth. And guess what? He did! I won't lie, I saw him a lot (I think it was six appointments), but every single visit was worth it. Fast forward two years to now, and that tooth is still going strong, no issues whatsoever. His team is incredibly sweet and made it so easy to juggle all the appointments I needed. They were super flexible and stayed on top of things, even seamlessly communicating updates and transferring info to my dentist for the final crown work. And here's the best part all of my appointments were completely pain-free. Dr. Kang took his time, didn't rush, explained of what he was doing very well and even scheduled an extra session when he realized my tooth needed more healing and another round of antibiotics. Root canals are nobody's idea of a good time, they're pretty much the worst, but if you want the job done right, especially with a tricky case like mine, you're in the best hands here. Highly recommend!

My 72 year old mother has dementia and needs an advanced extraction likely with a heightened level of sedation, when I asked the "lead" dentist what is a dentist that can use an IV to sedate he claimed to not know of a solution outside of going to the "University". He was pushing to do the extraction that day and, "give it a try." I asked him multiple times to give him a chance to tell the truth. So which is worse? He lied about not knowing the name of a peer in his field with more training or he doesn't know. Clearly he has no regard for the principles that guide most physicians and dentists to do no harm and do good on behalf of the patient. Dentists are just sales people masquerading as doctors.

Inappropriate and gaslighting. Ugh. I had to make a big scene and exit. I filed a complaint with the Washington state dental association and will be following with a lawsuit.

The procedure itself was painless with the exception of a few pinches from the injections for numbing. Dr. Wang was great about explaining the procedure, the risks and benefits as well as the expected outcomes. He is very calm and personable, clearly cares a great deal about his patients. His staff (Nicole and Chelsea) were excellent resources regarding my concerns over pain (there were a few days where it was intense) and they handled the billing procedures quickly and easily.
