The thought of going to the endodontist makes me an emotional wreck unable to function or keep it together. It takes two or three attempts to make it through the front door without falling apart. I have had two root canals at Bellevue Endodontics with Dr. Barbizam and Linda. The first time was very traumatic for me ~ mostly because of the series of dental work I recently had and because I was in so much pain. I had an urgent issue and they were able to see me in a couple of hours. While it was a horrible experience for me, the actual procedure was just fine. Dr. B and Linda were very kind and patient despite my obvious unwillingness to be there. I was grateful, very grateful that they were able to fix my tooth. The second time I knew a tooth was going bad, but I couldn't figure out which one. I went to my normal dentist and nothing was obvious to them so they referred me to Dr. B. Ugh. I called Bellevue Endodontics and explained the situation. They made an appointment for me in two days. I didn't have an urgent situation at the moment, but I knew I was gearing up for one. The receptionist could tell I had concerns about an appointment two days away and offered to get me in first thing in the morning. That night my tooth blew up and I was so glad I had an appointment that morning. Again, it took me several tries to make it through the front door, and I had a serious attitude going on. When I checked in, the receptionist was so nice to me. While it was a small thing, her kindness helped take the edge off. Dr. B did the normal tests and we agreed on which tooth needed help, so we did the root canal. Everything went like clockwork. The second time seemed faster but that might have been for my slightly better frame of mind. When I checked out, everyone was so nice and friendly. It was nice to have your last experience at the endodontist be pleasant. It stinks when you have something like this done and your last interaction is with person who is not very nice to you. Not the case here. I am not my best self at the dentist and especially not at the endodontist, so if you are like me and need to have endodontic work done, I can't think of a better place than Bellevue Endodontics. Yesterday, I had a root canal procedure done by Dr. Barbizam (with respect Dr. B) at Bellevue Endodontic Associates (BEA). I was referred to BEA by my dentist in December 2019 to get a clear determination of whether a root canal issue was in play. I had a pleasant initial diagnostic visit. Dr. B and his very knowledgeable and professional assistant "Linda" became my team. I received a very clear, visually aided explanation of the root canal issue that was found and I was facing, the fix options, and the risks if I did nothing for awhile. Then we scheduled a post holiday root canal procedure. I was somewhat nervous, but the reception was comforting, and then Linda worked with me to get ready. And in my case, the procedure took a bit longer than expected because or root location challenges. I am impressed with the technology available today and used, and the very professional team work between Dr. B and Linda. It seemed like there were hundreds of instrument transfers and handoffs of some kind during the 2 hours or so needed to complete the procedure. I left feeling good. I woke up today and feel quite good, with little discomfort. Next I need to schedule a crown replacement with my referring dentist. I will not hesitate to go to Dr. B and Linda for that work if my general dentist can not get to it as soon as possible. I am 73 years old, and this type of dental issue can be very painful. Dr. B took care of that challenge as needed. I will not hesitate to go to BEA if I need another major root canal or related procedure. read more

I visited Bellevue Endodontics for the first time on Monday this week and saw Dr. Barbizam for a root canal. I found the office through an online search and selected this particular dentist because he had good reviews and it is very close to home as well. I had been having tooth pain for over a month and half after a crown was done through my regular dentist. I ended up having inflammation that would not subside and Dr. Barbizam completed the procedure for me in about an hour and a half during my first appointment with him. I did have a referral and recent x-rays which helped me get an appointment quickly for treatment. I want to emphasize that my experience was great and painless with Dr. Barbizam. He is very knowledgeable and explained the procedure well so that I knew what to expect. I had never had a root canal before and was very nervous. Additionally, Teresa at the front desk was so patient and helpful with accomodating me (I have a newborn so the schedule is hectic) and with running my insurance and getting me a quote before my appointment. They were very transparant about the financial responsibility ahead of time which I really appreciated also. I'd highly recommend Dr. Barbizam for root canal treatment! read more

Dr. Bennett and Denise did outstanding work yesterday on my root canal on short notice. I had gone to my dentist earlier in the day because I thought some popcorn had gotten lodged in my gums or between my teeth and was causing pain. It turned out, though, that popcorn had nothing to do with the problem, but instead my tooth had a large area of infection in and around it. Hence the need for a root canal. Dr. Bennett answered all my questions about root canals, and I had a lot of them because I wasn't expecting to need one and had never had one before. The procedure was fairly quick and completely painless. It is just the day after the root canal and I already feel better than before the root canal, although there is a little more swelling. This swelling should go away soon. Denise did a great job explaining the pre- and post-op procedures and taking some X-rays. She is super nice and tries hard to make you feel comfortable. Also, the office manager explained all the insurance coverage and total costs in detail before the procedure, which was good to know. read more

This place is amazing. I had Dr. Barbizam twice before and Dr. Posner today. They both were simply amazing, cheerful and understanding on top of that they explain everything super clearly and break down easy to let everyone understand. Other endodontist (not in this office. Different office and not related to Bellevue endodontics associates) diagnosed just a hyper sensitive. Which was not. It was clearly needing a root canal and I was in massive pain for total four days. Dr. Posner today was soooo understanding and fixed my ongoing issue right away. I am so appreciated to all the staffs there. They are super professional and friendly. Probably they are tired working all day but they do not show that part and treat you very professionally with some big smiles. If you need any endodontics issues to be treated, I highly recommend here. The office is wonderful! I was referred by Dr. Nguyen after a toothache I had, had for a long time got worse really quickly. I was in a lot of pain and the office was able to get me in the morning I called. I have a lot of anxiety and fear around the dentist and seeing someone new was no exception. However, Dr. Bennett and Lourisa were phenomenal. They acknowledged my pain and were patient and gentle in figuring out the source of my pain. When it was time for treatment Dr. Bennett explained everything to me and answered my numerous questions. Both Dr. Bennett and Lourisa were attentive to my needs throughout the procedure, continually checking in with me. Although the anxiety and fear doesn't always go away I know that I am respected and listened too and that Dr. Bennett and Lourisa will continue to make sure I am not in pain, at ease and listened too. No one wants to have to see an endodontist, but if you need a root canal, I highly recommend Bellevue Endodontic Associates. The staff is courteous, friendly and attentive... for instance, because of joint replacement, I need to take antibiotics 60 minutes prior to dental procedures; an hour prior to my visit I received a call from the staff reminding me to take the meds. Dr. Barbizam thoroughly explained the procedure, what to expect in best and worst case scenarios, so I went in with eyes wide open. He did a great job cleaning up some very convoluted root canals! Not only was he courteous with me, his patient, he treated his dental assistant with courtesy and respect during the procedure, I appreciated hearing him say "please" as he asked for the various instruments. I recently visited Dr. Bennett (and assistants Lourisa and Denise) at Bellevue Endodontic Associates. It was an emergency visit, as I was in a lot of pain. They were able to get me in immediately. I have always had a fear of going to the dentist, and honestly, getting a root canal will never be any fun, but with Dr. Bennett, it was really not a bad experience at all. Everyone at the office has a friendly, calm and confident demeanor. There were no problems with the procedures, and they were very gentle with my gums and mouth. Dr. Barbizam , DDS MSD PhD offers fantastic service! I unknowingly bit down too hard on an almond shell and fractured 2 teeth, one needing immediate treatment. My wonderful dentist, Dr. VanDeroef , at VanDerhoef Smiles referred me to Dr. Barbizam. Within a few hours of my exam and referral I was able to have my first root canal. It sounds scary to have to go through it. But the team at Bellevue Endodontics worked so carefully and quickly. Doctor fixed my tooth and freed me from my constant pain. I was in a lot of pain over the weekend. The filling from a previous dentist was too deep, and it got close to the nerve. It was all agony until I called Bellevue Endodontic Associates. They were very professional, deeply caring, and highly knowledgeable. I asked all my questions, and they were gentle with me. I got all the education I needed and the best treatment for my situation. I felt well cared for, from the first point of contact on the phone to the root canal procedure. I got instant relief after the procedure and can now smile again. It's weird to say that was happy to get my root canal done! I guess I had luck to be with the right team, under Dr. Posner and Lourisa. I was not looking forward to have this done due to a bad memory in the past, but this time, under the care of these two, changed all that. The whole process was painless. They were really caring and checked on me from time to time to make sure I was comfortable. I was also in very minimal pain when I got home. I also love the fact that they were very detail, from providing me with pain medication and making sure I had something to eat, so soft snack was provided as well. I was able to get an appt in less than 24 hrs, received a comprehensive exam/evaluation and a medically necessary root canal the same day. I was referred to Bellevue Endodontics by Dr Sugamura at Maydenbaur Dental for a root canal. Fortunately I was able to see Dr Barbican right away. He is very personable and quickly put me at ease. He explained my options and left the final decision entirely up to me, which I appreciated. The pain medication was injected as painlessly as possible. The root canal work was entirely painless even though, since it was a molar, it took a long time to complete. It actually took longer than usual due to calcium buildup in the roots. I am really please with Dr Barbican and would retain his services again should I need new work and would also refer him to my friends. The fee seemed quite reasonable but I have no comparison to judge it by. read more

Dr. Lindsay Posner recently performed a root canal on me and I give Dr. Posner and her office the highest rating from start to finish. She had been recommended to me by my dentist, Dr. Sugamura. Everyone in the office was courteous and communicative and the process was comfortably high tech. Dr. Posner explained everything she was going to do up-front, throughout the procedure, and upon completion using X-rays. She checked in with me regularly during the procedure to make sure I was comfortable. Her office called me the next morning to answer any questions and confirm that I was doing well. While I hope I don't need Dr. Posner's services again, I won't hesitate to refer her to others and I would use her again if needed. read more

The office area was clean, coffee was available, the receptionist greeted me with a smile, and there is an elevator available to transport you to their office on the 2nd floor. Additionally, my seat had lumbar support and internal rollers to massage my back. Both Dr. Barkizam and Posner (I had 2 separate treatments, both right on time) were gentle in the treatment of my root canals and always asked if I was okay during the process. Can you believe there is a 3-D X-ray system to determine the exact problem in the tooth/teeth needing treatment - no more "approximation." Dr. Barbizam and Linda were kind, friendly and professional and made the whole experience a very pleasant one even though we are talking about a root canal retreatment.
