Not a tiny piece - the second provider I went to see later found it on x-ray. 2. I chose full anesthesia but did not recall being told to avoid eating in the morning. I showed up with a full belly and was told there could be a risk of vomiting in the process. The procedure went forward. 3. After the procedure, the bone graft kept falling out. My primary dentist suggested me to see Dr Banda again. He told me the graft failed and recommended redoing the grafting procedure right away. 4. At that point I decided to see another dentist for second opinion, who then found out the fraction left behind. She suggested letting my gum heal before another procedure with a chance to grow back enough bone, which it did and saved me a procedure.

The procedure was rough, but less due to the staff than the procedure. It's simply a terrible thing to have a piece of your body you've had in place for a half-century sawed off and ripped out. Recovery was flawless. To say I had little pain would be inaccurate: I had zero pain in the first several days.

Later this year, during one of my weekly Invisalign check-ins, my orthodontist noticed a small cyst forming above the tooth that had the root canal and told me to get it checked out. I first went back to my old dentist (whom I've since switched from), and they referred me back to my original endodontist for a re-treatment. But since my previous experience there wasn't great, I decided not to go back. Instead, I found a new place -- Kirkland Endo. They require a referral from your general dentist, so I called my current dentist's office, and they immediately sent over all my records. Kirkland Endo scheduled me for a consultation the very next day and the actual treatment the day after. Super efficient! Everyone at Kirkland Endo was incredibly kind and professional. My treatment was done by Dr. Rude, and the experience was fantastic! He was kind, polite, confident, and had such a warm smile -- honestly gave me friendly "Dr. Carlisle from Twilight" vibes! The whole procedure took about an hour. From the moment the strawberry-flavored numbing gel went on to the very end, I didn't feel a hint of discomfort. The best part? He was able to treat the root canal by making a tiny hole through my crown -- then sealed it up perfectly. I didn't even need to get a new crown!
