Normally I have to drive halfway to Houston order to get fresh sushi, killer hot and sour soup (which is my item that if they don't get it right they don't get a five star!), fantastic Mongolian BBQ (although they should definitely consider adding pork AND cutting the beef into smaller pieces ... can you say TOO BIG for chopsticks?). This location formerly offered standard Asian fare, without the flare, but they have a completely renovated the eating area, the food prep area, the entrance, and the selection of available dishes! I rarely go to someplace for nine dollars and get fried shrimp and boiled shrimp AND oysters at lunch, but this location now is my go-to buffet. Please let me know if you find ANYWHERE better in Conroe because I'm a Texan chick with a HUGE need for Asian buffets!! read more

We went here on opening day. Not really sure if this is a "re-boot" of the old Hibachi Asian Grill or not (had never gone there before, but it got such bad reviews before that we never wanted to; however, I don't see anything changing). This buffet was a disappointment, as all the buffets in Conroe have been. Really couldn't recommend it, unless its convenient and you are just really hungry. This place receives my "Wasted Potential" award. I really wanted to give them a good review. They had been highly recommended and when I entered the interior was nicely done. The buffet table is a full rectangular shape, plus there are more items in an additional line on the far end. A huge assortment from which to choose. I came in at about 11:30am on a weekday. Prime time when their freshest food should have been out. Unfortunately most of the meat items, though well-flavored were too tough to eat. Visited this place for lunch this past week and was very pleasantly pleased with it. It was fairly busy but we were immediately greeted with a smile and directed to our seats and drink orders taken. Made a lap around the buffet to get an idea of where to start before grabbing a plate and everything looked fresh & pleasing to the eye. One thing I noticed right off the bat was that the food is almost all presented on large white ceramic style serving plates rather than the usual stainless steel tub inserts. Two thumbs up for that little touch. I started with a plate of the sushi and shellfish seafood (mussels, crab, etc) and returned to the table were our server had already dropped off our drinks , and came over to see if we needed anything before we started eating. Everything on the plate was tasty , the sushi was surprisingly nice considering most buffet style sushi can be very iffy from time to time. The selfish we're all seasoned and cooked well. My second plate was filled with sampling's of several Chinese staples along with a couple other creations. Once again, everything was fresh and at a good temperature and I enjoyed everything I tried. Great service , wait staff was very attentive, large food selection , hot and cold , at a fair price... what's not to like! We will most definitely be visiting again for dinner next time and try some of the dishes we didn't get a chance to the first go round Conroe, Texas has a good Chinese buffet folks read more

This place is great I don't recommend coming here often because it's a buffet and that's not healthy to come often you know? But if you do come here the food is amazing, since it's a lot of items of course not everything is going to be the best tasting I love the sushi selection a lot. The waiters are always helpful and listen to you whenever you need assistance. As for the ambiance it's going to be a bit noisy if it's in lunch/dinner rush but very quiet if there is no rush. read more

Tried it during a busy time(1 pm on a Saturday) and some of the food was still old. The fish was pink inside like it was not fully cooked, cut too chunky it seems, and maybe not cooked long enough. The smaller pieces were all white and were not pink inside. The fried rice was good. Overall my wife left hungry because most of the food was not good. Kioku's is a favorite of my wife and myself. The variety and quality of the food is excellent. The sushi, my favorite, is varied and always well stocked. Never had a bad or questionable piece. The service has always been friendly and excellent. If you are looking for good food and a wide selection you will not find better around here. read more

Took my dad and family there recently. Dad's in a wheelchair. They had NO accomodations for him, stuck us in the back near the kitchen. All we heard was lots of Chnese yelling. It was embarrasing, and noisy. But here is the real kicker -- our Dad's van has handicapped plates and we parked in a marked disabled parking spot. After our agrivating meal, we popped into the Dollar Store next door for maybe 30 minutes. When we returned to our vehicle, there was a note on our car (from the chinese restaurant) that we had been parked in that spot too long. Seriously!!! My dad is a retired Marine who served our country for 30 years. And THIS IS THE TREATMENT that he gets?? Reporting the incident to the VA and the local ADA organization. Great selection. Nice dessert bar. However, when I looked at my bank account when I got home, I noticed that this place over charged my card. My bill was $41.39. They charged my card $49.67. I stopped the pending payment with my bank this morning. When I called the manager, she tried to tell me that my card automatically charged me an extra 20%. NO! In the 10 years that I've had this card, I've NEVER been over charged. This was an overcharge that was put in at the time I paid my bill at the restaurant. Needless to say, this restaurant will not be getting their money until they pay me for the over charge. At that time, I will call my bank back and take the hold off. I will not be going back here and I would advise everyone to check your bank accounts if you've paid with a credit/debit card. If it happened to one, it's happening to others! read more

I've been here twice in the last week. The menu is varied each day and delicious. I enjoyed all the vegetable choices- sweet potatoes, cheese spinach, butter potatoes. Beef Wellington and meatloaf were great, especially for people who don't like Chinese food. The new decor is trendy and comfortable. Service was great. I cant blame this place for trying. With all honesty this place would be great if they provided fresh food. When food has been sitting under a heat lamp all day it will eventually look and taste odd. It was edible. The old asian waitress we had seemed utterly depressed because she was rude in so many ways & rather than being upset, I kinda felt sorry for her. The crab looked amazing and was cooked on the outside correctly but the meat of the crab was oddly mushy. The best thing I had there was their salted fried shrimp and the batter dipped fried shrimp with sweet and sour sauce. Would I come back? The food, service, and cleanliness is impeccable. The food is presented beautifully and tastes fresh. I have never tasted better sweet and sour chicken. I have also never seen a buffet so clean and pretty, for lack of better terms. Our drinks did not get below half empty. The desserts weren't my favorite, but there was a huge variety, so I haven't tried them all. It is my favorite restaurant in Conroe. I wish there was one on my side of town. read more
