    Spicy Tuna Roll

Went on a Sunday right when they opened and it was completely peaceful and quiet. It's super dark and moody so perfect for date night. We sampled numerous dishes and had great customer service from the waitresses. The food was great and the king salmon was delicious. Next time I'll come back and try a few of the cocktails!

Exceptional food, drinks, and service. The ambiance was moody and beautiful. The bartenders were efficient, quick, and helpful. The Kinjo cocktail is a must try!! Amazing!

Second time here but first time having food. It was a modern twist on traditional dining. Dimly lit and relatively low volume is perf for date night and esp there are more bars around for after dinner night cap. Miso cod was amazing- sushi was fresh and the baked scallops were my fav. Got the soft shell crab roll and spicy rum bento style rolls also (not pictured) but not impressed. Service was attentive and drinks were yummy.

10/10 experience, food, drinks and ambiance. I booked this place for my husband's birthday dinner. I wanted something intimate that offers crafted drinks and even better food. My husband was sooooo happy with this selection and all the great options they had. Snow crab miso, baked lobster tempura, a5 wagyu, and boxed sushi. Drinks were phenomenal as well. Needless to say, we ate our moneys worth and no crumbs were left behind, quite literally. Will def be back! Thank you for an amazing experience.

Excellent experience here. service was Timely and on point along with being very friendly. The ambiance is sexy and dark. I ordered an old fashioned which left much to be desired for $22. It was smoked and had flavor but lacked with the whiskey (I'm a lightweight). The hamachi was spicy yet flavorful. My fave fish was the appetizer - Spicy tuna avocado balls. They were incredible albeit very expensive ($8) each for 2 balls. I would have loved this as a roll. The spicy yellowtail roll was good. I found prices to be reasonable. We also had the wagyu roll - I tried a bit...it was tasty but not my speed (not a beef eater so no fault of theirs). 2 rolls, 2 apps, 1 mocktail and a drink were $140 so this place is a little more high end in price. Overall great experience.

Shrimp Tempura Special Roll & Spicy Tuna Roll

My first time at Kinjo room for a date was very pleasant! The interior is dark and moody and the decor is beautifully done, perfect date night vibes. We got the shrimp tempura special roll, spicy tuna roll, and spicy yellowtail roll. They were delicious, I loved the shrimp tempura and yellowtail the most! I also had a sakura cocktail that was supposed to come with a cotton candy cloud, but unfortunately they did not have the cotton candy at the time which was slightly disappointing. Other than that, the drink was very sweet and yummy, and came with decorative flowers and a sugar rim. There were so many delicious cocktail options, I might go back just to try them all! The service was slightly slow, but our server seemed to be helping multiple different tables so it was understandable. I would definitely come back again, and hopefully they will have the cotton candy cloud next time :)

I went here for girls night out a few days ago and I'll 100% be back with my husband for an intimate date night. We sat at the bar - it has by far more light than any of the table seating - so ig you have any issues with sight, keep that in mind. It a beautiful and aesthetic space. I'll be adding it to my list of "Aesthetic Atlanta Date Night Spots" I ordered a negroni and it was very good. If it is one of your go-to drinks, they make a good one here. My friend ordered a cocktail off the menu and she liked it. I did not try hers so I can't speak to it. For dinner, I was not crazy hungry and sushi tends to fill me up quickly I played it safe and ordered the soft shell crab roll and it was very good. A bit on the small side, I left comfortable full not stuffed. I could have maybe ordered something else to feel a bit more satiated. The presentation was beautiful though. My friend ordered items that were all off menu specials of the day so I can't speak to them as I did not try them and am unsure of the names anyway (I'm not a huge sushi girl. I know what I like and I tend to stick to those) Another BIG plus for me as someone who can use chopsticks but isn't good at it (think food flying and hitting other diners) I was not hassled at all for asking for a fork. No one made fu of me or made me feel bad about it. So if you're not great with them like me, or never learned to use them you will not be made uncomfortable there. Here are some notes of pros & cons: Pros: -Beautiful space, it's sexy and intimate and dark. If you want to impress a date this would be a great spot to start -a lot of options but not an overwhelming amount -unique cocktail offerings ana good wine list -if sitting at the bar (I recommend) the seats are plush and tufted so it's very comfortable -staff was friendly and knowledgeable but not hovering or bothersome -did not make me feel bad for asking for a fork -large sake menu Cons: -very dark. If you have poor eye site this may be a challenge for you -its not easy to find - deep in the belly yard complex. I always get lost in here -parking is expensive ($16 for 2 hours) if you are ITP I would Uber or walk -you should make a reservation s the space is small. You will need to put a card down to do so. There is a fine of $50 per person for missing your reservation (and a grace period of only 15 min) -cocktails are all very expensive ($16-$26) and I did not see any mocktail options on the menu - I did not ask for off menu options -portions were small. Everything we ordered was on the small side but it does seem that some of the rolls are a better size. Just not what we ordered. Like I said I will be back with my husband for a date night

Came here for dinner on a weekday and it wasn't super busy. We ordered the spicy yellowtail roll, wagyu roll and fried calamari. The fried calamari was pretty good and the batter felt pretty light. The sauce was pretty spicy and flavorful. The Wagyu roll was definitely our favorite! Super flavorful and the asparagus was such a nice crunchy touch! An explosion of textures. The spicy yellowtail roll was also pretty good and the salmon on top was definitely fresh and was a pretty thick cut. Docking some points for service. There seemed to be only one server for the entire restaurant. We weren't checked up on and also had to flag our server down multiple times for items. It wasn't bad service but it was non existent. For a nice ambiance and the price point I definitely hoped we had gotten better service. Overall, will skip this place for better service elsewhere.

The success of MF Sushi in Atlanta is a clear statement to the expansion by the owner Alex Kinjo, who has brought Kinjo Room to the Westside of Atlanta in 2022. To be blunt here, the start of the establishment was not incredibly smooth, as many things in life are not. Execution lacked and processes were deficient. Thus, it was important to avoid rash conclusions and allow Kinjo Room team to cement its vision. Today, Kinjo Room has grounded itself firmly as an establishment that holds its place in the new sushi district of Atlanta, the Westside. After all, it is surrounded by two Michelin starred restaurants (Mujo and Hayakawa) now along with classic local favorites like Eight Sushi lounge and Oku. The interior vibe is elegant to say the least as there is a sense of intimacy that is not rivaled by many establishments in the city. Creations by the chef are beautifully executed, from irresistible Uni the delicacy of which could rival cotton candy. The tuna tasting brings a pleasant way to experience the fish back to back. Sashimi is created with great attention to proportion and fish quality. While one can talk about fish all day, it's more important to note the people who make this establishment remarkable. The team goes above and beyond to ensure allergy requirements are clearly accounted for, that small requests like turning down the music are incorporated and showing a level of kindness that is always effervescent in the original MF Sushi location. Thus, Kinjo Room not only matured into one of the best sushi establishments in the city, but has all the ingredients to become the esssential place to enjoy sushi in the city without splurging on an omakase experience.

Great atmosphere, very cool vibes. The sushi itself was really fresh and yummy. Definitely would go back but only for special occasions as it's on the pricey side.

The food was okay. The vibe was so cute good date night spot. Very packed. The rolls were good and the sushi was fresh however not much on the menu only for sushi lovers

Olivia was an amazing server. She took great care of my party of 2 for a special night. The ambiance is very aesthetic and dimly lit. If the space weren't so intimate with only about 10-15 2 top tables, I'd recommend a live jazz performer once a week! I will definitely be back ESPECIALLY for the SPICY TUNA AVOCADO BALL wowowowowo 20/10! Let me save you the time, I ORDERED BOTH (tuna & salmon avocado balls 6/10) , get the SPICY TUNA!

We had a great time at Kinjo Room. The food, drink, service, and ambiance were all excellent. If you're in the mood for high-end sushi, Kinjo Room fits the bill for a nice night out. This place has style *and* substance. They definitely have it going on with the atmosphere. The restaurant design is stunning. Kinjo Room has one of the more memorable interior designs among Atlanta restaurants I've visited in recent memory. I expect no less from the restaurant's namesake, Alex Kinjo. If you're familiar with the Atlanta dining scene, Alex needs no introduction. As I wrote in my review for MF Sushi in Inman Park ( https://bit.ly/3Pr1Icr ), his restaurants have always been swanky and stylish. It's clear Alex is talented when it comes to visual aesthetics. His restaurants are gorgeous. Kinjo Room feels like a luxe Japanese bar and lounge. The aura of Alex's restaurants defines them and sets them apart. Most recently, he opened Kinjo Room in April 2022, Mai Kitchen in August 2022, and Yakitori Kona in September 2023. Kinjo Room is inside The Interlock, the bustling development across from now-old-school Westside Provisions District. This part of town has exploded over the last several years. Next door to Kinjo Room is "Kinjo Next Door," another exquisite space. It functions as an omakase bar, private event space, and an overflow room. Kinjo Room itself isn't huge and indeed can feel more like a large room instead of a restaurant. It's dimly lit and intimate with beautiful decor, comfy sofas and pillows, and some of the most luxurious bar stools I've seen. The most convenient place to park for Kinjo Room is inside The Interlock's deck. For us, it cost $15.45 for 2 hours and $18.45 for 3 hours. Use the ParkMobile app. Zone # 3232. The restaurant does not validate. Book your reservation using OpenTable and earn dining points which can be used to redeem restaurant discounts, Amazon gift cards, hotel stays, and more. I was surprised to see I was awarded 1,000 points for my reservation here. It's been years since I had a 1,000-point reservation on OpenTable. They're usually 100 points each. Thank you, Kinjo Room. Kinjo Room works well solely as a cocktail/sake bar as well as a full-fledged restaurant. Both the food and drink menus offered a solid variety of alcohol, sushi, and non-sushi Japanese or Japanese-inspired dishes. Omakase is available at Kinjo Next Door. For details on booking omakase, call 470-355-9138 or email info@kinjoroom.com. Here's what four of us got: Cocktails * Fall of Man ($15) - Kakira Spirits Ugandan rum, lime, Granny Smith apple, aquafaba, nutmeg * Osaka Fizz ($18) - Toki Blended Japanese Whisky, lemon, orange oleo, bitters, thyme * Yard Bird ($25) - coconut-washed Michter's small-batch bourbon, lime, yuzu, campari, salt * Proper Measure x2 ($22 each) - Blade and Bow bourbon, Demerara Gum Syrup, bitters, smoked * Aged Woodford x3 ($20 each) - seasonal Woodford cocktail aged in Woodford oak barrel Beer * Yo-Ho Brewing "Wednesday Cat" Belgian White Ale ($10) * Sapporo x2 ($7 each) Appetizers * Baked Scallops ($16) - baked in Japanese mayo, topped with masago, eel sauce, red tobiko, sesame seeds, scallion * Calamari Karaage ($12) - fried calamari served w/ eel sauce, spicy mayo Special Rolls * Lobster Box ($27) - mayo, green onion, tobiko, eel sauce * Lobster Tempura Roll ($24) - shrimp, eel sauce * A5 Wagyu Beef roll ($30) - asparagus, truffle soy Yakitori * A5 Wagyu Beef yakitori ($35) - tare sauce, garlic chip, shishito peppers, green onions Sushi Appetizers * Otoro Carpaccio (market price $35) - topped w/ Nikiri Shoyu, microgreens, black pepper * Fresh Yellowtail ($20) - lemon zest, cilantro, serrano pepper, grated wasabi Kinjo Nigiri Sushi * Otoro (MP $30 for 2) - super fatty tuna w/ serrano pepper, truffle soy, caviar * Uni x2 (MP $30 for 2) - sea urchin roe w/fresh wasabi * Salmon Belly ($16) - not on menu * Chef's Signature Nigiri Menu x3 ($77 each) - 8 pieces premium nigiri Everything was fresh and high quality, especially the fish and uni. In general, Kinjo Room's sushi was on the same level as I remember from my visits to the various MF Sushi locations over the years. The options for upscale sushi in Atlanta continue to grow and become more competitive. The sushi I had here was comparable to the top places I've been to in recent years (e.g., Nagomiya, NoriFish). The Nigiri Menu included maguro, king sake, sake, chutoro, seared salmon belly, seared hamachi, and A5 wagyu aburi. Each piece was dressed/sauced in some way and every bite was outstanding. The uni, from Hokkaido, was superb. Both it and the otoro stood out. Buttery, melt-in-your-mouth, and packed with umami. Just terrific. The cocktails were phenomenal all-around. If you like old fashioneds, I recommend the Proper Measure. Ours were finished tableside with a flame and smoker. The presentation was fun and the drink's taste was rich and complex as well. Our server Daniel was great. Service was fantastic overall.

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.

It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! Overall, this place had such a great vibe to it!
