First of all, let me begin by saying I have never written a review on any item on e-bay, amazon, businesses or anyone anywhere. I have no Facebook account, and actually, don't even use the internet much.
But my experience at "Kingston Cleaners" was so atrocious, I had to do something. Reporting what happened to me here appears to be my only recourse.
I have been down to "Kingston Cleaners" a couple of times and asked the managers to help me. Two different people refused to do so.
So......here I am on "Yelp".
I think Betty M. just lucked out. She was treated nicely and got great customer service. But it was a fluke. Many others of us did not. (And is this woman "popular" because she's the only nice person there?)
Besides, the manager being "nice" is something to be expected, not a special favor. I'm "nice". I mean....anyone can be "nice". So what? Did they help you? Did they make you a happy customer?
Betty M. got good treatment at that place?? Betty - you lucky dog, you!! (If you're reading this, I want to clarify that I am joking, Betty M. Only joking).
And - as far as Jones M. is concerned, the prices were only the tip of the iceberg. I only had one sweater to clean and they took forever.
It was ridiculous. The item was due by 3 p.m. yesterday. I show up at the front desk at 2 and they're still not done. Please note that I had dropped it off over a week prior.
The service was as slow as molasses.
I accepted the hum-drum slow, expensive service, figuring maybe I just won't go there anymore. It becomes obvious they're taking advantage of the fact they're the only local dry cleaner in the small town of Kingston, NJ.
But then the real disaster arrived. When I finally got my sweater back, they hadn't mended it as I had asked them to (and, yeah, paid them to). And when I point out they didn't mend it, the lady refuses me a refund.
I've been there a couple of times and have spoken to a couple of different people. The first lady just complained to me about the price of dry cleaning chemicals, and the second one blew me off.
I wouldn't have had the sweater dry-cleaned in the first place if I had known they weren't going to repair it, so I'm out a lot of money.
Thank you, "Yelp" for being a place I can go to report these things. Nobody else helped me, but this site did.
Forget about bad customer service! My experience at that place was nothing short of traumatizing! read more
