History
Established in 2024.
What began as a quest for originality and devotion to the craft, has now turned into a fully-fledged business that is enamored with serving others. Our inspiration dates back to the 20th century, where our star seamstress and head of operations (Irma) took on sewing for her own inside some manufacturing company in the capital of Guatemala. Many decades later, she finds herself in New Jersey, working alongside her son and now administrator (Steven), in order to fulfill the demands its constituents which range from tailoring, to alterations, to clothing repairs and custom designs. We pride ourselves in our integrity, our attention to detail, the quality of our work and of course--our love for people. Our mission is to help others on their quest for confidence and excellence by tailoring their clothes as they best fit.
Meet the Business Owner: Steven P.
My journey as an entrepreneur began two years ago, right after I graduated college from a double-major in Political Science and Spanish. While academic work proved to push the horizons of my knowledge, something inside kept burning--a feeling so intense that I could not ignore. I had always considered myself an artist, and I had always thought that my purpose lingered directly around others.
I worked for some time as a contractor specializing in home improvements. And while such a position seemed to quench my need for personal interactions, it did not fulfill my sense of pride. It was then--only after I quit and faced uncertainty head on--that my mother and had the time to sit down and talk about what we could build and what would eventually become.
That's how Magic Hands Alterations was born: a perfect combination of my mother's expertise and my knack for people. I have learned a lot through the short time that we have been established--and I look forward to the bright future.
