This was my very 1st time ever taking a were item of clothing to the tailor. After doing some searching I chose Sun Dry Cleaners due to their great reviews. When I arrived, I explained to staff I needed the dress for a wedding on 9/19 & was leaving town that morning. They assured me job would be completed the day before on 9/18 by 5PM & I'd get a text for pick up. On 9/18 I received no correspondence at all & when I arrived at the cleaners I was informed my dress was not even on the premises. I was told there was a "miscommunication" on the date my dress needed to be completed ... despite me providing details of my plans. This was a major inconvenience to my plans & a disappointment. They didn't even offer a refund for not delivering on the date promised. I'll probably never use a tailor again. read more

So after my last dry cleaning experience I wanted to find a new dry cleaners. I of course went to yelp and looked through the reviews to see which I wanted to try. While there were a few that seemed worth trying, Sun Ray Dry Cleaning did stand out and I figured I would try this place. I ran over one afternoon to drop off a brand new suit jack. The person who meet me was Simon who was a very nice younger guy that just was a pleasure to talk to. I told him the stain was either had a lamb or olive oil and that I didn't exactly what it was. The stain happened at a wedding and to be honest I think someone bumped into me which was why I didn't know exactly what it was and I think the methods change depending on what the stain is. The stain was pretty large, and I was worried that it was to late. He said they would try their best and they might be able to get it out. A few days later I got a text that my garment was ready and when I picked it up, the stain was completely gone. He said they did have to treat it several times but they got it completely out. I couldn't be happier. They will have my business for the foreseeable future as this was such a great experience and I have been looking for a good dry cleaner for a while now. As a side note, you do pay for your garment when you drop it off. Something that I haven't really done before but it isn't a bother. Just if you pay cash that might be good to know. read more

This place was great! Upon entering I was greeted with such great energy and an excitement to serve. The prices are really reasonable and they are on target with when items will be available. They even send a text reminder for your pick up with really helped me since I almost forgot. This will definitely be my new spot. My mom needed some jeans altered shorter now that she doesn't wear high heels anymore and they somehow magically managed to keep the intricate designs at the bottom of jeans as if there was nothing done to the length! The Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving, right as they opened, I brought in three (3) garments: two (2) were straightforward alterations, but the last one was a windbreaker that had spent years in my late father's estate & needed severe cleaning in order to be wearable again. We first brought in our groomsmen suits to be tailored for our wedding, we were greeted with friendly staff and they took their time to take notes on what was needed, within a week, the suits were ready. They did an excellent job down to every details and the suits were a perfect fit. Great detailing and speedy service!!! SO, it was no surprised that after the wedding, I took my wedding dress to them for cleaing, I honestly didn't think they would accept my dress given the condition it was in ( black and grey on the bottom with SAND, due to my beach wedding), however, they took my dress and agreed to try their best. When I went to pick up my dress, I was shocked at the phenomenal job they have done, my dress was brand new again!!! The cost for cleaning is a lot less than expected as well. I'm completely blown away by the customer service and kindness I received from the people working at this business! I came in with a complicated dress situation. The alterer wasn't there when I went so Simon (who I think is the owner) called her during off hours and explained the problem. He worked with my schedule to find a good time for me to come in at the same time as the alterer (since she works part time). He even asked her to come in later because it worked better for me. When I was there, there were a good amount of people (which I'm not surprised by because they are really so amazing! I feel like no businesses are run like this anymore)! While I waited, Simon talked to me and was so friendly even while assisting other customers (who he was equally as friendly with)! The alterer listened to me intently as I showed her the problems with my dresses. She was so knowledgeable on how to fix them in the most cost effective way! The dress immediately looked better as she pinned the parts that needed adjustments. My event is very soon and they said they would get it done as soon as they could (because I told them I would feel anxious if it was so close to the wedding date and my dress wasn't ready yet)! I've never paid for dry cleaning or alterations so I'm not sure how their pricing compares but I would honestly pay more for this type of service than less for poor service! I have complete confidence that the dress will be beautiful when I pick it up :) I'm already thinking of other things to bring in like my wedding dress or Ugg's because I want them to be here forever!!! Never had such a terrible laundromat experience in my life. Avoid this place if you are using dry cleaning services for things that aren't just t-shirts or pants. I requested my 4x6 faux fur rug to be cleaned. There were mini flecks of dirt left in the rug that didn't come out after three washer cycles and vacuuming, so I hoped a professional could finish cleaning it for me. I was given a quote of around $76.77 -- don't know much about dry cleaning prices but to me that sounded a bit high. I went in person to receive a more accurate quote, and Simon offered to clean it for around $26. I got the rug secondhand for $10 so I thought why not. Unfortunately, a couple days later, he texts me to ask for $16 more, because they used an entire lint roll and it was taking him longer than expected. I was only expecting to pay $26 worth of cleaning service, NOT $42. I emphasized that it was okay if not all of it comes out, because like he told me, I could clean it by myself at home with a cat brush. I compromise with $11 and he guilt trips me by saying how much hard work he had put in and how big of a price cut he had given me. Please remember, I ONLY allowed you to clean my rug because you offered $26. I can see that it's not the first time you haven't been transparent with your prices, as mentioned in another review below. I go to pick up my rug, it's whatever, I'll pay the extra $16 because it's not worth fighting over if you really put your blood, sweat, and tears into it. The lady at the front is super welcoming and warm so I think to myself, 'Well at least my rug is clean and everyone is happy.' BUT when I arrived home and opened the air sealed plastic bag, the rug was completely DAMP! You are a laundromat service, so I'm sure you know air tight bag + damp rug = MOLD. And that's exactly what it smells like. I'm currently air / blow drying the rug, but the smell is so rotten that I might need to wash it again (for the fourth time). I feel like I've been robbed of my money. 1 star for at least getting a majority of the flecks out. -4 stars for charging more than expected, pressuring the customer to pay more, and making my rug smell completely disgusting. read more

Now that my wedding is over, w/o a doubt I'll bring my wedding dress to them to clean too. Its hard to find a good dry cleaners with excellent customer service that do amazing job. I got a reply only in 15 minutes in such late night and they said that they can do this. Next day, I visited there with my coat and jacket. The people working in this store is exceptionally nice and professional. What I really like is that they think customers as the most important. After that I received my jacket and coat tailored and cleaned in 2 days!!! How can they offer this service. I fully appreciate their attitude to customers and services. The service is top notch! Every time I drop off and pick up, they greet me with smiles and pleasantries - which can be a rare find in NJ. I'm unsure how their prices compare to other cleaners in the area - I spent about $80 for 17 assorted pieces ranging from suits, jackets, slacks and shirts. Totally worth it for the service and quality cleaning they provide. They expedited an order for pickup the following morning, and let me know they couldn't guarantee the wine stains on my suit could be removed for a rushed request. (I love red wine). I told them that was okay and to proceed with cleaning. I was very impressed the following day when I picked up my suit and discovered the wine stains were gone! I came in stressed with a heavily stained dress that had already been dry cleaned at another place already but was still stained.
