I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.

No early emergencies would be accommodated, and were frankly very abrupt on the phone. I knew that eyes are serious business, and I could not wait. I called First Eye Care, as they had seen me once before, under similar circumstances, and they told me to come in immediately. The reception staff was so nice and I was promptly seen by Dr.Kumar. She was so kind and shared extensive information about my condition, a severe corneal abrasion, and provided excellent care. She confirmed that I should not have put off seeing someone as soon as possible. Needless to say, I gave my original eye care provider a second chance to step up, and now I definitely won't be going back. First eye care Downtown has my business going forward. I highly recommend them!"

Eventually we reconnected and found out that they have been delivered, but to the other location (‍). They said they would be ready to pick up on the 28th. OK.... I show up on the 29th and they can't be found. Only reason I'm giving them more than 1 star is they carry decent brands and have a decent selection.

Malerie guided me to a frame that was such a perfect fit and style I'm now buying the same pair again. Her sense of fashion and talent for matching frames to face shape was such a relief, turning what is usually a stressful task into an effortless process. Living in a small community, I don't have access to this quality, selection or expertise, so discovering Tom Barrett Optical has been a real blessing. Achieving the perfect prescription and fit has always been a challenge, but with their team it became seamless, stress-free and precise from the very beginning. Last fall, I returned to their delightful store for updated measurements and fitting details. Recently, I sent them my new prescription and promptly received my new bifocals and readers via UPS. I am astounded by the precision of the fit and the prescription-they are comfortable, stylish, and have enhanced my vision. Their wide selection of high-quality frames is very impressive! Even more impressive is the personal attention, professionalism and genuine care they show every customer. I am so grateful to have found them and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking quality eyewear that blends fashion, quality, precision, and exceptional service.

I sent them back to be re-done because the first time they were like straight-up readers (not what I asked for). When they came back the second time they were slightly better but feel almost like progressives because they are still too "reader like" and the prime focus area is below-center. I don't know how to say "I want the best focus to be 4-6+ feet away" The Ugly: I doubt I'll ever wear these glasses and will stick to the beat-up,scratched-up ones that just work.

Disappointing Experience with Pushy Sales Tactics…read more I want to start by saying the exam process was simple, and I had no issues with the doctor. However, my issue lies with the experience of getting my glasses prescription filled. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted a basic, affordable second pair of glasses. I mentioned this multiple times--at least three times--but I felt pushed toward more expensive options that I didn't want. When I finally chose a frame covered by my insurance, I was told that my lenses required special processing because of my prescription. The price I was quoted for the lenses was over $500. When I said I couldn't afford that and didn't intend to spend more than $300, the price suddenly dropped to $308 within seconds. Why wasn't this lower option presented to me in the first place? The sudden shift in pricing felt shady and left me questioning the transparency of the process. It felt like I was being pressured into spending more than necessary, and the whole experience came across as unprofessional. I hope this feedback encourages a more honest and straightforward approach in the future. Customers should feel respected and confident in their choices--not pushed into something they don't want or can't afford.
