Called Kings locksmith on Sunday, to get a key made, told me it was 348.56,for service,never told me that if I waited until Monday it would have been125.00 less which I could have joyfully done. Which is still to high, dishonest money grubbers selfish looking out for themselves,don't use them find a better locksmith, they withhold the truth which is the same as lying. I needed a fob programmed and the place I usually use did not have the equipment. I was referred to King's and I will never go back. When I called to set up the appointment the woman who answered just said, "Hello?" I had to confirm I was taking to a business. She continued to be extremely rude as I made the appointment, as if I was bothering her. When I arrived a younger female greeted me. I told her I was there for an 11:30 appointment and she looked at me and said, "During lunch?" she asked me if I got the fob online. I told her I bought it from a local business and she snapped at me and said it was basically online and an aftermarket part. It was as if she was irritated I didn't want to spend more to buy it from them. The owner programmed the fob. He was absolutely unfriendly. His wife ate a bowl of soup on the counter just feet away from me and never acknowledged my presence. The only good thing I can say is that I got my fob programmed. I must update my review that I had posted moments after I received a key from Kings Locksmith so this is my update on a very horrible and dragged out process. Okay so in Aug 20 2025 I had been charged $500 for a key for my smart car. it was less than a day or so and my car was acting up and on the dash it was flashing a Key symbol lit up. I immediately called Kings Locksmith and got him on the phone. He tryed to say to me that it wasnt the key he made for me which was the issues my car was experiencing. He then stated it must be something to do with my wires and possibley the connections. Long story short I eventually had to go to a local mechanic which try to find what the issue be but just got so farr and said I must get the dealership and they would have the proper equiptment to determine what was wrong. To Oregon the car got towed. The dealership in medford ORegon indicated that the issue was a invalid key long story short not including the $500 I was charged by kings inically for the key, the tow is not included from Redding CA to Medord ORegon. But the total came to around $2,000 WHEN THATS ABOUT THE CARS WORTH! PEOPLE please dont waste time money like I did chosing kings locksmith when he wrongs you the dude just ignores you reaching out to rely what situation he had put me into but guess Ill be seeing him in small claims court. DO NOT promote or guarentee the growth of his business. I would have been better off with out. Wish I never came in any such way of this companys direction. I called this company to come open my house since we left keys inside. I paid in advance $150.00. We ended up being able to get into the house before they even got to my house and asked if the could split the bill so $75.00 due to them driving out to my house but not doing a damn thing but arriving. He still charged me the full amount and the lady inside was laughing due to us being charged the full amount. I had an appointment to have my company door repaired and we are a licensed facility that requires a mask upon entering, when the service man entered the building he was asked to put on a mask and he replied "I cant do that" and left I followed him into the parking lot and asked if he was coming back and he replied "nah" and got in his van! read more

My electronic key for my car broke and I was told by the dealership it would be $325 and another shop quoted me $200. My brother recommended King's after having a couple keys made there for his truck, he said they were fast and fair in price. Not only did I receive excellent customer service but I was also informed that I did not need a whole new key just a new case. The whole thing took less then 10 minutes and the grand total came to $27 which is way easier on the pocketbook then the two previous quotes I had received. I really appreciate that the person working today took the time to see what I really needed and was honest about it. I called Kings total security and asked I'd they could reset the anti theft device on my son's Volkswagen he just got. They set an appointment for the next day. We got there early and he came out and met us at 12:30pm sharp went straight to work on our car. He was very diligence and extremely professional answering all of our questions promptly and politely. I was very impressed and surprised when it took him less than 30 minutes to have the problem fixed and my son's car starting and running with no problems. If you need keys or electronic security problems with your vehicle, Kings Total Security is the place you need to call and work with. The man is truly an asset to his trade. I called yesterday to find out if they had software to program my car. Who ever answered the phone was EXTREMELY rude. He asked "when do you need it done" I replied with "as soon as possible" his response in a rather rude tone "well I can't do it today it's too late in the day" mind you this is at 2:00pm. By, as soon as possible, I meant when you can get to it. He barked back some rude comment and I just said "you know what, thanks for your time" and I hung up. They must have plenty of money and don't need mine, why else would someone be so grouchy to a women he has never met. I decided I would rather pay for a tow company to take my car to the dealer in Chico at $4 an a mile than do business with someone so rude. Sadly I was referred by a different locksmith who had great customer service but didn't have the equipment to program my car. More and more people are using Yelp these days. I suggest who ever answers the phone works on their customer service tone and try not to sound like a grumpy old man who found out his best friend peed in his Cheerios! read more

I see a lot of people giving these guys a bad rap entirely based on personality conflict. We've used King's exclusively for years for our fifty unit complex and two group homes and professionally and personally have never had a problem with them. At first impression they're not bubbly types for sure but straight business until you get to know them. Being that I have a familiar relationship with the Kings it's laughable to see how the reviewers are coming to a negative conclusion because I can see how sensitive types might be put off but I assure you the Kings don't mean to be rude, at worst I would say, "dry". I'm not sensitive that way and don't require, "service with a smile". lol! Tom shows up in a professional rig fully equipped to do the job on the spot, has always been cooperative and willing to give valuable advice in a professional manner. But if you need to feel warm & fuzzy in your time of crisis more than you need no BS service then, yes, you may be happier going elsewhere. read more
