I was impressed by the integrity of my first visit here. I went to make copies of keys that were already on the key ring as duplicates and the guy helping me stopped the process to let me know they were duplicates even after he had already made one of the keys but didn't charge me for it. Later in the day, I wanted to make spare keys for my vehicles which I knew wasn't going to be cheap, and thought of this place because of my earlier experience. I went there and had two different vehicle keys made and programmed for $45 each. I contacted other businesses that got back to me later that were at least twice as much for the same service. The pricing and service is what inclined me to give a five star rating, but they earned it. They were fast, efficient, friendly and helpful as a business should be. I recommend this business for all your locksmith needs. They have a friendly cute kitty that hangs out in the store and is an attention whore, so if you're allergic - be warned. read more

After hours service request was qouted at $250 (mid morning on a Saturday) which is very high to just meet up at a mutual place and make a Masterlock key from a code. However, during the appointment setup their staff asked if I had reached out to anyone in an effort of finding bolt cutters. This information was helpful and resulted in over a $230 cost savings. Therefore a low rating as to competitive pricing as I actually called a few others after resolving the issue and got an average quote of about $40 (high end was $60 to go onsite). Definitely shop around before settling with service from a locksmith. A higher than normal rating for friendly staff willing to offer alternative options to their prices. read more

Sure they'll get your lock open, but they are expensive and honestly Jeff is just RUDE. I don't know if he was the only one working or if he was having a bad day, but it took almost 4 hours for him to come out. M son and I are restoring a 51 year old car and missing one of the keys. I went to Giles to buy a blank key so we could make our own key as part of the project. The man at the counter refused to sell us a blank unless we were licensed locksmiths. Then he went on to tell us it was illegal and that he would not help us and risk his license. We had no idea and he was a jerk about it. He said there are unscrupulous people that would probably sell us one on the internet. Instead, we went across the street to Ace and bought several blanks just like that. So much for the line of bullshit. As if we were a threat to his business. I was desperately in need of help with a lock. The key would work then it would not. So very frustrated I took the lock out and took it to Giles Lock & Security. I was in a rush and ran in and explain what was going on and told them I had to leave and would return in about 30 mins. The nice woman said she would have it done when I got back. Upon return I spoke to Jason and he explained what was happening and said it was an easy fix. I ask what do I owe you and he told me "no charge". In insisted he take something but he did want want my money. I thanked him perfusely. I left feeling thankful and appreciative. On my way out of town I had to go back by there just to let them know how much I appreciated their act of kindness to me. They have left for the day and the employees said they will be back, in the morning. I told them I was on my way home (150 miles away) but I will leave feedback on Yelp for their generosity toward me. The people at Giles are good people helpful, not in it for the cash only. As good as it gets. I seldom give 5 stars. 4 stars is a perfect score for me. 5 stars means they have 4 strong guys to carry me on their shoulders as we march toward my door lock that needs replacing. Most recently, had a door lock for which I wanted a new key. I tried to get the handles off the door to bring them in. No luck. Took digital pix's showed them to Steve and Jeff. They cut me a magic key that would just allow the lock cylinder to come out without removing the knobs, etc. Back to Giles. Jason the owner took care of the rest of the job. $18 with 4 keys and I was on my way. Before leaving I asked if this magic key for my lock would work on the neighbors. Flash cameras took my picture as they hit the red button. Had to wait a couple hours for the police to arrive. They arrested all of them for witness tampering. read more

Giles literally saved my camping trip this weekend. I have a utility trailer that I had parked in front of my travel trailer. When I went out this morning to move the utility trailer, I broke off the key in the hitch lock of the utility trailer essentially trapping my RV behind my immovable utility trailer. I tried to fish out the key with every non-locksmith tool in my tool chest but to no avail. Frustrated and short on time, I called Giles for assistance. Debbie answered the phone and was professional and polite. She told me she would try to work me in and call me back to advise on the time. She called back in 5 minutes and told the technician is going to fit me in between service calls and will let me know when to meet him at the house. About 30 minutes later, Dave calls and says he is at my trailer. I meet him there and he immediately introduces himself and tells me he can get me taken care of. In about 2 minutes he has the lock off the trailer and about 5 minutes later he is handing me the lock with the broken key removed. He even lubricated the lock and tested my remaining key to ensure the lock was working properly. I hooked up to the utility trailer and moved it so I can go camping this weekend. I rarely write negative reviews, and to be honest, this business made keys for me in a totally adequate fashion; however, I hurried to get there about 5 minutes before they closed on a rainy Friday evening. I parked right out front (in an area that was not marked as no parking). There was no one else at the store. The gentleman helping me was very pleasant, but someone came out from the back and asked me to move my car (it was not blocking anything!). He was rather nasty about it, but more so, it just served no purpose. So I went out, moved my car into a marked spot, went back in, got my keys which took them about 3 minutes to make, and then left. So glad the gentleman demanded I go move my car in the rain for that 3 minute period of time. Needless to say, I won't ever go back becasue of that silly little interchange. I took a safe in that I got from my deceased grandfather since nobody in the family knew the combination but the door was left open they told me it would take a few days I left them my phone number they said they would call when it was ready all I wanted him to do was figure out the combination two weeks went by I went in to find out what was going on the clerk behind the counter said he could not find the safe said he would have them call me on Monday since this was Friday they did not call me back until the following Friday and when they did they told me they had sold the safe very poor business practice since that safe was the only thing that I got from my deceased grandfather now I don't have anything from him absolutely positively never do business with them ever again very dissatisfied read more

In the rain and all, he didn't mind one bit but seemed very happy to help. He went above and beyond for me.
