I can honestly say this was the best experience I've ever had with a home improvement contractor. From start to finish, Mike Stratton and his team were outstanding. Mike is friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in his work. He was flexible throughout the project as I made a few design changes along the way, and he was always willing to discuss options and offer thoughtful recommendations. What really impressed me was that many of Mike's best ideas didn't increase the cost of the project. He suggested installing a sleeve under the new driveway so I could easily run irrigation or electrical lines to the other side in the future, something I hadn't even thought about before he mentioned it and will almost certainly make use of. He also recommended embedding a drainage pipe beneath one area of the concrete so that, if drainage ever became an issue, it would already be in place and could easily be tied into. He also recommended removing the old porch step to create a seamless, modern transition to the front entry. As we discussed different layout ideas, including curves versus straight runs, he made it clear that the cost would be the same regardless of which design I chose, allowing me to focus on what looked best rather than what cost more. The workmanship was exceptional. The crew was professional, friendly, and obviously very experienced. You could tell these are craftsmen who have been doing this for a long time. They worked efficiently, never seemed rushed, and paid attention to the details. Mike stopped by every day, often multiple times, to check on progress, answer questions, and make sure everything met his standards. The project stayed on schedule from beginning to end, with each phase flowing smoothly into the next. They also went above and beyond at the finish by repairing stucco that had been disturbed during construction, rehanging my gate, and even patching some older stucco adjacent to the project that wasn't really part of the job. The finished driveway and walkways look fantastic and have completely transformed the curb appeal of our home. Just as importantly, the work looks incredibly solid. Even the walkways were built with the same attention to durability as the driveway. Nothing about the project felt like corners were being cut. The price was also very fair. In fact, another contractor I'm working with on a separate project, someone who frequently works alongside concrete companies, told me that the price I paid was very reasonable for the scope of work being performed. I recommend Mendenhall Concrete without hesitation. When I'm ready to tackle the backyard, they'll be my first call.

I hired this concrete company for two separate projects, including backyard pavement work…read more Unfortunately, both experiences were stressful and uncertain. The main issue was that we would agree on a scope of work and price, but after the job started, he would later complain about the price or try to change the terms. On one project, he initially offered a discount if I paid cash, but about a week later said he could no longer honor that arrangement. I agreed to pay the full amount because he is also my neighbor across the street and I wanted to keep things friendly. I also asked him to repair damaged stucco under my patio doors, and he agreed to include that work. While I was traveling, he sent me a bill for the full amount, and I paid assuming the agreed work had been completed. When I returned, I found that the stucco repair had not been done. I asked him again to fix it. He sent a long message complaining about the price and scope of the work, apologized, and said he would fix it -- but he never did. After dealing with repeated complaints, uncertainty around agreed pricing, and unfinished promised work, I gave up. I would not hire him again. In my opinion, there was too much inconsistency and stress for work that should have been handled clearly and professionally.

We recently had our entire backyard and side yard remodeled by Integrity Pavers And Turf, and the…read moreresults completely exceeded our expectations. The project was extensive: about 1,200 sq. ft. of space was transformed with elegant paver stones, lush turf from Purchase Green, a new retaining wall, proper grading and soil leveling, improved drainage (relocated from a previously faulty area), and the demolition of 600 sq. ft. of old concrete. They also installed a custom-designed vinyl gate at the entrance of our property that fit our space perfectly and matched our exact specifications--all at a very reasonable price. From the beginning, working with Alex M made all the difference. His detailed, line-by-line quote gave us a clear understanding of costs and scope, which immediately put our minds at ease and made it easy to move forward with confidence. What really stood out was how he took an accurate drawing of our property and provided a CAD rendering of the finished project. It allowed us to visualize the design before any work began--something none of their competitors offered. While others gave us basic sketches or pen-and-paper layouts, Alex's approach was professional, precise, and incredibly helpful in shaping our vision. Another standout aspect was how clean and respectful the team was throughout the process. At the end of each workday, our driveway was swept and cleared, allowing us to park comfortably without disruption. The team also showed exceptional courtesy to our neighbors, working around a busy cul-de-sac without hesitation. They were always willing to move trucks and adjust when needed--something we've never seen other contractors do without pushback. This kind of professionalism speaks volumes and sets them far above the competition. Though the job was quoted as a three-week project, the team completed it in just 10 straight days, without compromising on quality and finishing exactly on budget. They even identified and proactively resolved a potential issue with a shared property wall--again, without delaying the timeline. If you're considering a landscaping or hardscaping project in North San Diego County, I can't recommend Integrity Pavers And Turf enough. They transformed our unusable space into the perfect backyard for hosting parties, both big and small, along with giving us the freedom to truly enjoy our space to the maximum extent. Despite being twice the price of other quotes to strip and re-seal my pavers, I agreed to sign with…read morethese guys on a Thursday, because Isaac said they would work over the July 4th weekend, to be done before a bunch of other contractors started work the following week. I was skeptical, but he'd only agree if I signed right then and there. On Friday, they rolled in at 2pm, worked for maybe 2 hours, asked for 80% of the job money, and went home. When I asked about the lack of progress, they said not worry -- they'd be back tomorrow and be done by Monday. The next day, they never showed up. Nor the day after that. Multiple phone calls and emails to the office went unreturned. On Monday morning, they first tried to claim they never said they would work the weekend. Then they admitted they had, but their truck broke down. If so, why did nobody call me, I asked? They shrugged. They then pointed to other contractors now working in the front yard, and said they couldn't work. I pointed out that there was nothing stopping them from working in the back yard. They stared blankly, then turned around and went home. At this point, I started to feel these guys weren't being completely honest. This feeling would only grow with time. For the next full week, I had to beg each day for them to tell when they were showing up, and what work would they were planning to do, so I could coordinate with the other contractors to be out of their way. Each day, they refused to explain, found another surprise reason they couldn't work, and left without saying anything. And this was not just my opinion: all three other contractor companies working at the same time, at various points, all called to tell me some variation of "your paver guys seem completely clueless." Eventually the work got done, and ended up being decent quality. That is the only reason I'm not leaving one star. But otherwise, this was the most poorly managed, uncoordinated, and questionably honest home contractor I have ever worked with.
