This store is a 3 star through and through. Not bad enough for a 2/1 and not good enough for 4/5. The selection is pretty good and it's pretty well stocked. The employees are nice. Unfortunately they are just so understaffed and I don't really know how to offer them any advice on how to change that. They always have ads out and seems like incentives running. One major drawback for me is their lack of multichild carts. They used to have one car cart that broke and other than that I have my 10 month old in the cart and my 3 year old walking, he's well behaved but it just adds to the stress. On top of that, with the 2 kids I prefer to have a human checker. It's very difficult to self checkout with the kids. And check out the self checkout line, it gets so long. Today it was almost 10 people long. With one gal on checkout and all the moms and older people prefer the human checker. Other than that I like the store. They keep it clean, it's just the only king soopers in the area so it's really busy. read more

This King Soopers has a very nice friendly and hard-working staff. But decisions that are made for what items to carry always seem to weigh against the few items we like and can buy there. The latest casualty appears to be PELLEGRINO SODA WATER in GLASS BOTTLES. After at least 15 years that we have purchased this item regularly, it can no longer be found on the shelves (as of Dec. 2024). We have to drive to other stores for this item. Because we have to go to other stores for most other items, we only lost some convenience, but it narrows down the few things we can buy at this King Soopers store still further to only about 7 items. read more

I've been using their pickup service about weekly for 4 years. I started using it about when they started offering it. I had cancer at the time, and shopping for myself and two kids was exhausting. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have had that then and loved it so much I continue to this day. These guys do a great job. The produce is at least as good as I'd have picked, probably better. There's no tipping or instacart weirdness, and the staff is always courteous and helpful. Grocery shopping is not a chore a dread anymore. I go online, pick what I want, browse the coupons, and they bring it to my car. So easy. read more

I have been coming here for years. There's a few staff that are awesome but unfortunately they are far and few between. The floor help is horrible and always act like you are in the way of them doing what they are doing. It was snowing last night and I had my pregnant wife and 1 year old child with me. A young man stopped me at the door and told me I couldn't bring my cart outside for safety reasons? I was loosing my temper and didn't want to make a scene so I started pulling my stuff out and my wife went to bring the car around as planned. In the time I got my stuff I watched several people take their carts to their cars... I couldn't walk it to the front of the store? Also isn't having a bunch of cars park up front in a snow storm more dangerous? Another associate offered a hand but I was just trying to leave at that point. Does this place actually have a floor manager? The self checkout has been getting long and people constantly cut. I also spend more time trying to get the attention of staff because the self checkout thinks I'm stealing... than shows me a video of me not stealing... also... what a bad place to put your associates in if I was stealing. Work shouldn't be brutal or not fun at all but it seems like there's a few really good staff and the rest just use it as social time. So we got people trying to stock who are busy and super unfriendly and probably rightfully so. Then we got other staff just talking to each other all day who literally just point me in any direction when I need help finding stuff. And then 1 or 2 people up front that can't seem to get help from anyone else while the checkout line is getting huge and the self check outs keep acting up. When I have my work clothes on I have older people constantly stop me for help so I take my work badge off now before going in. To me it seems like management problems. Once again the people in the front check outs and deli/meat counters are usually very kind and try to be helpful. The rest of everything else going on is hot garbage. read more

Weird policy for a retailer. I work at another retailer who sells wine, our company policy is you card the person who is paying. This store sent my 30's husband to the car for an id even though i was paying and 40's. I don't get id everyone in a grocery store. So if your kids are home from college and not 21 tell them to stay in the car. Make sure everyone has their id on them, or stay in the car. What a dumb policy for a grocery store were families and couples shop together all the time. Spouse or partner running out the door and you decide to tag along better bring your id cant just hop in the car with sweats people. These policies don't even make since at this point. read more

I stopped shopping at King Soopers 2 months ago because they charged different than their posted prices. I decided to give it a try again today. They have QR codes in the store to download the deals in the store but the internet is so terrible it doesn't download and as a result they over charge. Today, a checker told me to go home, download, wait 30 minutes, then come back and try again. WHAT??? I stop at the store on my way home from work. If they want to continue to overcharge life long customers, fine, I will shop elsewhere and hope that they either close permanently or clean house and hire people who care about customer service. read more

I have been shopping here for 21 years. Bought my house when I was 33. Literally same few people... good ones have moved on!...growing old with me still acting like jerks when I check out! C'mon. I even had a checker take over for an underage kid that gave me 50$ too much change and I took it back to the Manager. I told her what happened and I didn't want the kid to get in trouble and she said oh yes and he would have been. He doesn't work there anymore either thank God. They stand around and gossip about their fellow employees in front of customers. They treat the courtesy clerks like total crap especially their special needs clerks. I'm so over this store! They need to swipe it clean. Today I didn't hear what Bret said to me and I said I'm sorry hand behind ear.. he literally said Jesus Christ under his breath.... I have been living in the area since 1992. Over that time I gradually went in for purchases less and less. Now, I only go there when I am Jonesing for Alden's Organic Ice Cream and that is all I buy because I know where it is and it is an 'in and out' thing for me. As a matter of fact, I'm going there now just for that. They are lucky they are the closest grocery to me! I just got back home and I'm upgrading them from 1 star to 3 stars. I had a nice conversation with a young lady that checked out my purchase, I went to a cashier because I had a coupon, and we spoke about the best ice cream we have ever had. Everyone at this Pharmacy has been so patient and helpful. I had to take the time to write today as Theresa just helped me to expedite a prescription I need before going out of town tomorrow. Despite my ***%$## insurance company, I will have the medication I need in time. My girlfriend our daughter and I were in this store today #55 to be exact, when a group of older people (me not noticing) were staring at me snickering and looking back. While we walked away as I hadn't noticed them until my back wasn't turned they continued to watch us stare ,snickerIng and pointing, My girlfriend had said they should take a picture. They immediately began swearing at us Infront of our child and calling me a F freak. The older lady walked quickly up to my girlfriends face pointing her finger and shouting. When we both raised our voices to the people attacking us we were then attacked by 2 other customers "you need to respect your elder" A minute later a "manager" Joshua reedy appeared, unapproachably...Asking Me if I was using swear words on the sales floor. off the bat I could tell that he had no interest in defusing any incident or figuring out what went on as his biggest interest was getting us to leave. He never asked what went on or if anyone had been hurt, then I asked for information on his store manager or GM (general manager) as I was extremely displeased with the way he approached me, my family and the situation. He then refused me any information and threatened to call the police on me. We will not be returning and we will be seeking further action. read more

I went to this store to buy liquor which was only 3.2 anyway. They did not have a sign or a block up saying that they could not sell it to me after 9-10pm or whatever. I took the liquor all the way up to the cashier where they declined to sell me alcohol because it was after the specified time above. I left never to go back again. Some stupid local Arvada law I guess. Go to Denver to buy your alcohol, don't ever give these losers a chance even when it is before that black out time. read more

I love this store late at night. It sounds stupid but they play rock. It's nice to have non-cringe worthy music while grocery shopping at 1am. Nice, small layout so I can get in and get out. There's always enough cashiers and checking out is almost always quick. If I need everything, I go to the Kings at 80th and Wads. If I need the staples, this one works great. read more

I've been shopping at this King Soopers every week for about ten years, and never have I been greeted by a checkout person as though they recognized me. The newer checkout people (who never seem to stick around very long) are friendly but the long time ones are surly and unhelpful. Most times I have to bag my own groceries and I never even get a thank you. They know their union jobs are safe so they don't worry about providing good customer service I guess. Poorly managed store when the employees try to avoid interacting with the customer. The floor staff is usually helpful but the checkout experience is very poor. Too many of them seem annoyed to have to do their job and serve a customer. My last visit was the last straw and I'm going to drive farther from my house to avoid this unfriendly environment. read more

This is a large clean store and most of the time customer service is good. They have a good selection of grocery items and items from various cultures. They have a large deli and prepared food selection as well as organic and all natural items. Whole Foods or Sprouts are my main stores since I eat mostly organic and it is much easier to find what you need and get out fast! The prices are good and they always have a sale just like any KS. The store is easy to get around in so you are in an out. The bonus to this KS is the location which is within walking distance to my home and they sell discounted tickets to various Denver events, ski lift tickets, bus tickets etc... I also like the fact that you can get money orders for $.50 and make withdrawals from your debit card for the same price to avoid ATM fees. I have a bank that is based in TX so I have to use ATM to get cash all of the time. read more

This store is your basic KS go-to store. Fairly decent selection for a smaller store. They usually have enough checkers for the number of people waiting at the check out stands, which is a plus and they get one star for that. Another star for having a fairly decent parking lot. And, another star for being in a good location. They do keep up on their expiration dates so that I never see foods with past dates on their shelves. Kudos for being conscientious about expiration dates. On the downside, they are phasing out their coconut milk and coconut yogurts. They are also reducing their other gluten-free, dairy-free options. I would have added another star if they had kept carrying those types of alternative foods items. As of today at least 10 of the items that I regularly have on my list were marked "closeout sale" and had markdown prices on them. I am going to have to scout other KS stores for what I have on my list. Can't stand their obnoxious country and western music. Fortunately, they play it infrequently. read more

This is the most unfriendly store around! Pharmacy sucks. A doctor calls in a prescription at 8:00 am and the pharmacy won't get around to filling it until the following afternoon. And they act like you're bothering them to fill it! Switching pharmacies. These people are horrible. read more

This is the worst King Soopers. I have been a faithful KS customer in every neighborhood where I have lived, but I will no longer shop at this store. It is run-down & filthy. Floor tiles are missing, ceiling tiles are water-stained. Grocery carts are grimey, bent or broken. The cashiers and baggers are mostly disengaged and disheveled. The parking lot is poorly maintained and difficult to maneuver. Why is this store so different than most? I keep hoping it is being "let go" because Kroger is planning to remodel/enlarge/update......but that hasn't happened, instead it just gets worse and worse as the years tick by. Kroger needs to either close it or make needed repairs. In the meanwhile, I will be purchasing my groceries elsewhere. read more

He told me that they didn't have the item, and said that because this store is so small they only carry about 40-45% of what larger king soopers carry... I love going to this store because it is always open and within walking distance to where I live. I think the people there are friendly and are naturally decent customer service people. I can't tell you how many times I've been here late at night for this or that. They do a good job of having deals on different items, changing it up now and again. This has been one of my stores. It's not brand new and it doesn't carry everything the bigger stores do, but I know the aisles and unless it's a holiday, it sees less traffic. Less traffic makes me happier! That is why I try to go at odd times. There is good and bad. The good is obvious. The bad - usually they are restocking shelves and it can be difficult maneuvering through the aisles. Especially if your cart is filled with water. (my PT loves this!!) It was not the first time that I stood there at check out listening to the employees attack management. This was at least the third time. Clearly there is something wrong here. I just don't think I should be tasked with figuring it out and managing the situation. Each time this demonstrates unprofessionalism, disloyalty and insubordination. Am I too old fashioned that I believe the employee should be there with smiles on their faces and ready to make a dollar? There should be appreciation for the job they have and the customers they serve. Disappointed! read more

Awful customer service!!! We went to get tickets to water world and we're told they could not get into the system. The lady working gave us a rude look and stared at us like we knew how to fix it. We left and will not be returning. Very dirty inside and very rude workers especially at the customer service desk. Seems like if you are behind the customer service counter you would be able to provide customer service which us not the case at this location. read more
