Our dog is dying from internal bleeding and the vet was going to have to charge us 2k for a medicine that was 300 from CVS if we got it that way. I've had my final straw with this pharmacy. My husband, my children and myself are all part of three different insurance companies and every single time I go to pick up medication at this pharmacy I have the same experience: I wait in a very long line in the adult diapers and sex toys aisle, get up to the front and offer my insurance cards only for them to tell me that they don't need my insurance card (???). 50% of the time the medication is not ready yet even if I have received a text message. They try to get me to pay the full price without trying to bill insurance. I asked them if they could please use my insurance cards, they sigh and roll their eyes and have to go over to the register next to them and rebill it- only for them to tell me that they are having some kind of problem with my insurance company and they can call if I would like, but it will take an extra 20 minutes. I always end up paying full price cause I just wanna get the heck out of there. But I'm done I won't be going to this pharmacy anymore. read more

I've been loyal to this pharmacy for a while now, and thought I had a great rapport with the staff--until December 2024. On the 10th, I went to pick up my prescription as usual. An entirely new staff was there, and the system was down, but I was allowed to pick up my prescription since it was covered by insurance and no transaction was required, or so I was told. PJ, the pharmacist, had me sign a sheet as proof of pickup. A little over a week later, I started receiving texts saying my prescription was ready for pickup. I went in to clarify and learned they had never recorded my controlled substance as picked up on the 10th and instead marked the 19th as the pickup date. I spoke with one of the taller techs, who assured me there wouldn't be any issues moving forward since they were all aware of what had happened. However, when my provider sent in my next prescription on the 6th, I was told by the pharmacist G. Gelan (the pharmacist that I usually deal with) that there was concern about PJ's handling of the situation and that the taller tech now claimed not to remember me. I was informed PJ would correct the issue and fill it the next day. After our conversation, I didn't feel right that PJ would get in trouble, however, I also did not want this to reflect poorly upon my record. I called my insurance (Medicaid) and learned they had my December 10th pickup on record and confirmed that I could refill my medication immediately without issue. When I relayed this to the G. Gelan, he became defensive and overly assertive, claiming he "never fills early," which wasn't even relevant to the situation. I'm frustrated that despite doing everything responsibly, I've been treated unfairly due to clerical errors beyond my control. Keeping a "home" pharmacy for my medication is something I value, and this experience has been unnecessarily stressful. Thankfully, my provider and the insurance understood the situation, which offered some relief. Always advocate for yourself and be careful. read more

Do not communicate. say things are filled when they are not. always forget to use my insurance just tell me to use coupons. If i bring up issues they always say "should I call security" Show no signs of sympathy. Always blame me or a tech who is not there. read more

I like and appreciate some of the pharm techs and pharmacists (so extra star). But otherwise, this pharmacy is painfully bad. It is slow to fill medication. I have to be assertive if I want to get medication filled. Multiple times, they have told me something is not in stock. Then I show up in person and have them physically check, and suddenly, the medication is in stock. I have also received bad advice and had dates of meds I ordered be reset and take a week or more to come in. This leads me to believe the incompetence here is just a reflection of CVS as a company. If my meds weren't so important, I would find the incompetence here comedic and entertaining. But the negative impact is noticeable. I still like the employees though, and greatly appreciate their efforts when they show that they care. read more

I'm a sad, this used to be a fantastic pharmacy but it has completely fallen apart. Here's todays example. My child had a seizure and spent the night in the ER. I was prescribed medication for him to stop a future seizure should it start. I called into CVS this morning and the automated system told me it was processing and would be ready by 3PM. I called in four more times trying to speak to a person to verify that it would be ready. No answer. So I drove to the pharmacy. I WAITED IN LINE FOR 1 HOUR. ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE MY PRESCRIPTION IN STOCK. 1 HOUR TO BE TOLD THEY DIDNT HAVE IT. Which they could have told me if they just would have answered the phone! So now I've been waiting for an hour for them to transfer it to Walgreens, as no CVS in a 20 minute drive as the prescription...and they still haven't transferred it. read more

First off LOVE the staff, they simply need more. I have been a customer here since 1999 when my daughter was first born. Visiting yesterday and having he line snake into the grocery department and have a minimum of 15 customers in line is simply an abomination of customer service. Always the worst experience at this CVS on Reed St in Westminster. Always a long wait, 5-9 people waiting in line at all times which equates to 25-45 minutes to wait our turn. I got a text at 7pm on a Sunday which said I had two days to pick up my prescription. I arrived at 5:30pm the next day, waited in line 25 minutes, got to the counter and was told my prescription was returned to stock. WHAT? They could enter a reorder which would be ready in 30 minutes. The only explanation as to why it was returned to stock, was something about 10 days. But mine was only on day 6. I had an appointment to get to and could not wait. But actually, if I wanted to wait, I would've returned to the end of the line, which was now 9 people deep, and would have been back up to the counter in 45 minutes. No Thank you. I would rather go without my prescription than to go to this pharmacy ever again! read more

Completely incompetent at this pharmacy, always under staffed and check out is a pain, because the cashiers don't know what they're doing. Tried to change insurance there twice, they screwed it up both times. Lines are usually long and very slow. read more

If CVS tells you that your insurance won't cover a med or won't allow them to fill the whole month supply, go somewhere else. I was told for months that I can only have 15 pills at a time of a medication that I have to take everyday, despite the DR writing for one month (not a controlled substance) due to my insurance. So I have to come to CVS every 15 days but they never had it ready for me and typically took 3-5 days to fill. So for months I only 15 pills of my one month supply then I would go without the med for 3-5 days while "obtaining" it for me, setting me into frequent withdrawals. The most frustrating part is that my insurance has no problem paying for a 30 day supply of a med I desperately need. I switched pharmacies and I have no problem with insurance or obtaining my meds in a timely manner. They have lied to me for months, avoid CVS at all costs.... read more

Incompetency and terrible customer service. I always use GoodRx and this past time they rang it up without. After presenting the GoodRx they refused to adjust the price all because they do not understand how to use technology. read more

Impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. Have waited more than 30 minutes several times before giving up. They changed one of my perceptions for no reason that I ended up having an adverse reaction to. When asked doctor they said that should have never happened. No reasoning was provided when I finally made it to store to inquire. Recommend to avoid this location. read more

This pharmacy used to be great. The staff is not to blame for the issues that are caused by corporate neglect, but this location has become almost unbearable in the past 6-8 months. They are constantly short staffed, they rarely answer the telephone, it is not unusual to stand in line for 45-60 minutes just to pick up a prescription that is supposed to be ready only to find out they have not started on it yet. They are constantly out of medications I regularly need and don't order them. I would urge others to try another pharmacy before trusting CVS! read more

Skip the stress by skipping this pharmacy. Inventory issues,never answering phones, "computer" problems, 1.5 hour - not kidding - wait, app that shows incorrect info, inability to get meds synced to one or two days per month, and corp that does nothing, are a few reasons that make this pharm,at least at this location one of the worse. Too bad because personnel seem pleasant most of the time, when you finally receive meds. read more

I wouldn't choose this pharmacy again if my life depended on it. The pharmacist who closed up on Sunday, 2/5 needs to be fired or at least needs a lesson or two about showing empathy to customers. I showed up after waiting for the text saying that my prescription was ready but it was never delivered. Unfortunately, the pharmacy had just closed. Without an ounce of kindness, she said she couldn't help me because she had just clocked out and then walked away. No apology, no eye contact. Pure attitude. You should not be in this role if you don't know how to be kind. You are dealing with people who are in pain without their medications. Even if you couldn't have rung me up, I would have appreciated an empathetic response and maybe a name and number of a different pharmacy that you recommend? Super helpful, friendly and efficient. Not my normal location and I called to fill some prescriptions and they had them ready in an hour.

This CVS pharmacy is a mess. Usual lines of 10+ customers while the staff laughs or complains behind the counter. When I got to the counter for my script they always say "that'll be 40min or so" even when it was called in days ago. So now I call beforehand and sit on hold forever. No win situation. Doesn't help that you can hear them giggling and gossiping when people are in genuine pain waiting in line for hours. Just do us all a favor and close this location to save customers the headache. read more
