The pharmacy is useless. Always a giant line and half the time and computer doesn't work.

I first met Matt at the Boulder Wedding Showcase in January of 2016, just six months shy of my…read morewedding. It was his bridal package that drew me in, but it was his attention to detail, his commitment to my journey, and his approachable nature that made me feel listened to, understood and supported while I worked one-on-one with him to drop weight (hey, the stress of the dress is a real thing!). While we were working on a tight deadline for short-term weight loss, I would recommend anyone with health and fitness goals to set up a time to meet with Matt. He's very communicative and responsive in email communications when you're his client, and he makes you feel like your time with him is his utmost priority. I've worked with personal trainers, coaches, and nutritionists in the past - none were as knowledgeable and willing to spend time explaining things like Matt was. He's also always smiling, always happy to see you. Greets you by name and isn't pushy for you to upgrade or buy products off the shelves, though he carries a really great selection in his store. Matt and Colorado Nutrition is as a good as it gets in this day and age of retail chains and Amazon prime shipping. Nothing beats the personal touch!

I was leaving a nearby restaurant when I remembered that I was looking of something this shop…read moremight have. This shop is what has replaced Pharmaca which we lost years ago. I figured it was something I might have gotten at Pharmaca. Though this shop certainly did not have it. All they had was a product I have seen in nearly every store in Boulder, even Whole Foods which has a mini shop (Ideal Market by Whole Foods) nearly next door. It was very disappointing. They do still display some greeting cads and various over the counter products. The have a sign out front that they "now have a pharmacy." I did not investigate as my ride was waiting in the car. I have my pharmacy for my medical plan elsewhere. It has very sparse displays, certainly not like the previous business occupant. It's unlikely I will stop here again, though I have heard locals to the neighborhood reporting that they were happy to have something similar back for their needs. I will trust they might find something themselves, but I will look further for myself.

I popped-by again this past week, still hoping for a sliver of the authentic customer experience…read moreoffered by the previous store - Pharmaca. & again, the 2 employees behind the check-out booth could not be bothered to greet me, let alone engage w/ me, as I tried on multiple products, at their skincare wall (in clear sight of the 2 employees). Alive & Well has degraded the customer experience to what I can expect at Circle K when buying a bag of chips, while still expecting their guests to pay $150 for a bottle of serum.

I love Taspen's Organics creams. Everything I've tried has felt high-quality and nourishing. Some of my personal favorites are the Sandalwood Luxury Facial Cream, the Citrus Facial Moisturizing Cream, and the Eye Cream with Superfruits. All of these creams go on smoothly, provide deep moisture, and leave my skin with a beautiful, youthful glow. I'm pretty sure my fine lines have softened--or at least become much less noticeable--thanks to the hydration and dewy finish these products provide. I am a bit frustrated with their rewards program. I've spent over $500 in-store in the past year, and was told that rewards can only be applied if purchases are made online. That feels a bit unfair to loyal customers shopping in person. I'd love to see the rewards system expanded to include in-store purchases too--supporting customers no matter how they choose to shop. I also find it disappointing that when I spend $200 in-store and ask for a sample, I'm told that I can purchase a sample. Samples that I saw ranged from $15-$30 for 0.25 oz jar.

I would like to commend Walgreens for taking a high profile vacant retail space on The Hill and…read moreproviding a selection of goods that goes beyond duplication of what else is available in the immediate neighborhood. That being said, it is a real shame they have not followed the lead of a major national competitor and removed the sale of cigarettes from their supposed health oriented business plan. They have filled all three levels of this former bookstore facility. The basement level is the vitamin, supplements, first aid and quasi medical supplies that you would find in other chains, offering both national brands and private store brands. Plenty of sizes available which seems to be a failing of the big groceries and discount box stores. There is no prescription pharmacy at this location. Being adjacent to campus, they are serving a population that generally receives University healthcare which includes their own, and very affordable pharmacy. The main level still sells CU gear as before along with school supplies, tech accessories and gift items. There is a grocery section including refrigerated and freezer cases of convenience foods. The upper mezzanine level includes beauty, personal care and household cleaning supplies. On opening day, there was plenty of staff and checkouts on the main floor and the mezzanine. I doubt they will maintain so much staff unless they attract a larger number of customers. The prices are higher than you would find at a destination big box but if you sign up for rewards membership, it becomes far more competitive. This is true of all such health chains. Today my member savings was over $8. Get rid of the cigarettes and I will go up a star!

Parking immediately north of the building, but limited. Easy access from campus via a nearby pedestrian underpass and adjacent to a RTD stop (Broadway & College). Thankful for Karen, who was so helpful when i was shopping on the top floor.
