I absolutely love this apothecary and have been coming here for teas and flower essences for over five years. The staff are always welcoming and there is plenty to peruse while you await your order (the flower essences are made on demand upon arrival). If you re-use your glass bottle and dropper you get a refill discount. From baby needs, locally made bitters, in house made tinctures and makeup, to eco conscious feminine hygiene products this store has something for everyone on your shopping list. They also have lots of great books, sweet grass & sages to smudge, and classes before. Offerings I've been tempted to attend include making my own lotions, as well as a course on making tinctures. Rebecca's always smells so good it makes you feel instantly calmer just walking in the door. It's a little shop and it's popular, so very busy on weekends (sometimes hard to maneuver). There's always plenty of employees to help get people what they need. I've had great interactions with all of the employees I've ever spoken to in there, and it's very clear that great customer service and willingness to help is something they're all dedicated to. I love their products and usually end up spending way more than I intended to. I've never taken classes here but I love that there is the opportunity to do so! read more

As a fellow herbalist, I deeply appreciate the extensive dried herb collection this apothecary has and I loved connecting with the staff members on their herbal journeys and asking about their fellow creations with the plant kingdom. Rebecca's staff members are well-educated and helpful on herbs and the store itself when it came to any questions. However, when it came to the "pandemic" I was deeply disappointed in Rebecca's choice of enforcing masks so heavily - for an herbalist and apothecary of herbalists who are clearly aware of the body and health, I would expect the apothecary to emphasize "body choice" more than anything. I personally will no longer support businesses that do not support body choice although I will leave 3 stars solely for what the store has itself, dried herbs and etc. as an herbalist with a small business they have a great selection - however I will not support them medically discriminating those who make the choice in not wearing a mask. I realistically if I could give this place 3.5 stars because the store itself makes it a 4. Regardless, a wonderful apothecary for those looking for dried herbs and other amenities for creating your herbal supplement and creation needs! They even have an extensive online store for those who can't buy in store as well. read more

Can't say enough great things about Rebecca's! Love to stop in whether I need to buy something or just want the uplifting experience of being in a great, well-run store with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Let me start with the wonderful aesthetics of the space. I honestly wish there was an Air BnB with a wall of alphabetized herbs and all the tiny, cool little implements and containers they have so pleasingly laid out. Peep the teeny tiny herbal scoops that are like a Monopoly piece but more functional! Don't miss the early 20th-century octagonal spinning display in the back right corner. Salvaged from an old hardware store, it's a testament to the kind of craftsmanship that lives on in the Rebecca's space today. The staff are fantastic. Truly outstanding knowledge of all of their herbs, potions, tinctures, unguents, and decoctions. Always ready to give advice or just fill a recurring order, I wish every store person had their laid-back friendliness and willingness to help in any way. In short, we love Rebecca's. Most recently I sent my daughter there for a poultice for my mom and it worked amazingly well. Another time I checked out Bach flower remedies - I'd seen them for years and had no idea what they were but the friendliness of the staff convinced me to try them and yup it is a pleasant type of remedy. read more

I stumbled upon Rebecca's during a recent trip to Boulder. I'm officially obsessed. Rebecca and her staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable but not in a "buy my products" type of way. They truly want to help you find what you need and encouraged me to spend as much time as I want exploring the store. I have extremely reactive skin and recently switched to an essential oil skin care regimen. Thanks to their help, I found products that are made on site to treat my skin at very reasonable prices. My wonderful doula introduced me to the amazing apothecary shop that is Rebecca's. Being fairly new to the area still, there are so things I've yet to discover, and this was one of them. Rebecca's is fantastic all around, from their large selection of loose leaf herbs and teas to their oils and aromatherapy selection... I was in heaven while browsing/shopping. The staff was also tremendously knowledgable and helpful - not overbearing like some shop clerks... Just plain ol' friendly, welcoming, and helpful. My only regret is that I didn't learn of Rebecca's Herbal Apothecary sooner. I dare say an addiction has been created. read more

This place is wonderful. The staff are all trained herbalists and amazingly knowledgeable. I also appreciate that Rebecca is very conscientious of where their herbs are sources from. With so much over-harvesting these days, I'm always happy to find sustainable, wild-crafted, and often local herbs here. The staff also gives fun classes here in the evenings - everything from lotion-making to herbal bar recipes. The classes are largely demo-based, which I like, with plenty of fun samples to take home. read more

I love walking into Rebecca's. It smells wonderful, the decorations are beautiful (I overheard Rebecca mention she made some of the shelving herself), and everything is displayed so well. There are always plenty of employees around to ask questions, and Rebecca herself is often working too. They offer great classes - I have learned so much from the different people who work there. The bulk herb selection here is incredible - the best I have seen anywhere. They have the ones you expect (chamomile, mints, lavender, elderberry, etc) and some that you don't (gravel root!). Sometimes they offer both a local or a convention version. The prices on the herbs are incredibly reasonable, and you can get as much (or as little) as you need. Recently, I was looking for a particular herb that is a bit obscure, and Rebecca's happened to be closed. Every other store I went to in Boulder (at least 3) looking for it told me to head to Rebecca's! If that isn't a great recommendation for their selection, I don't know what is. They also sell the materials and products you need to make any variety of lotions, body butters, tinctures, oils, balms...anything you can imagine. If you don't know how to make something, take one of their classes! There is also an extensive collection of essential oils that you can buy by the DROP - what a great idea! They have recently reduced the number of books they sell - but increased the tea options! The pre-blended teas that Rebecca's offers are great, too. Other items offered include tinctures, body butters, lip balms, essential oil blends (in spray form), and so many other things. My only complaint about the store is the size. It is a smaller area, and they offer so much - it can sometimes feel frustrating to have things shuffled around. The register and bulk herb area are both on the same counter, but on different ends. So, I've gotten herbs packaged on one end then had them not make it into the order because they got misplaced. Also, the classes can be a bit crowded, as they take place in the back of the store. I love Rebecca's so much, but I'd love to have more space to move around and to take classes in! read more

I was not certain how to categorize Rebecca's Apothecary, as there was not a category available that really fit. (added note: I did not choose the category "drugstores" as this is in no way a drugstore). A huge selection of high-quality, fresh herbs--roots,flowers, leaves and all, are available here. Also available is every sort of container imaginable to put whatever concoction you make out of your herbs into. Friendly, helpful owner and staff ready to guide you through whatever you are there to do. In addition, the books available here are perfect...up to date and full of information about how to prepare herbs to be used for healing purposes. My favorite is: "The Herbal Medicine-Maker's Handbook" by James Green, Herbalist. I would not be without this book. Classes are offered pretty much year round either at this store, or networked through the various herbalists involved in some way with Rebecca's. The classes seem to be reasonably priced, and sound quite interesting. A nice selection of tea brewing equipment is offered here, and it's a great place to get gifts. Just come here for the smell; you'll find it satisfying. Then sit in one of the comfortable chairs and stay awhile. It provides a nice relaxing aromatic reverie just a block from the hustle and bustle of the Pearl Street Mall. read more

Absolutely everything I was hoping it would be! My friend and I were visiting from Texas and we were told this was a must try. We don't have much like this where we're from so it was exciting and new. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome. I told the woman that I had no idea what I was doing or looking for, and she walked me through the teas patiently and methodically. I walked out with two kinds of tea and a Himalayan salt rock. I am writing to share with you the great experience I had using the apothecary products. First B&B formula from Wish Gardens.I was pregnant and past my due date. We have tried anything we could think of and whatever we could find online to induce labor. No success. I red about the black and blue cohosh and wanted to give it a try. Rebecca's Apothecary was the only place in town that carried this formula which made me really happy. I took one dose of the tincture Sat morning and guess what an hour later my water broke and at 6:37 our son was born. I also got the herbal mixture sitz bath for postpartum recovery. I must say it did wanders for my bottom after only one use. I was amazed!!! I am so grateful that a place like Rebecca's Apothecary exists and it's right here in Boulder. I have always loved the peaceful space and calm presence of the expert staff at Rebecca's. When I received a call that my Dad might not make it through the weekend, I called the team and they went way above and beyond. Before I had arrived, they had created a roll on with essential oils to support my Dad's transition (included cypress, frankincense, mryh, cedarwood and rose). I love this place. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and helpful. I sometimes feel out of place, like I'm bringing all my stress and anxiety into a place of serenity, but, to date, nobody has commented or kicked me out. I sort of wish I could hang out there for days on end and avoid the world outside. It's a cozy little store. I'm amazed at the variety of herbs, sprays, tinctures and salves available. As soon as I close the door behind me at Rebecca's, I forget all the worries of the day & get lost in all the sights & smells this little gem of a shop has to offer. The shopkeepers are friendly & do a perfect job of balancing their presence to be there if you have a question but also allow you to test all the testers & explore on your own. Rebecca's is such a neat store! They have so many different herbs, teas, essential oils, etc. that it's possible to play around in there forever (at least for me)! It'd be paradise for anyone who wants to make their own cosmetic products! They also have a lot of great pre-made products for those of us who aren't totally "in the know" when it comes to making our own. The best thing I ever purchased there is a spritzer bottle of neroli oil & spring water. It's such an awesome & uplifting smell (neroli), and the bottle was very reasonably priced.
