I love the chicken salad here. I just found out about this place. It's like el pollo loco but in my opinion more authentic.

On the past under the old ownership the food was good. The current set up good chicken but they ha eliminated old favorites like teriyaki chicken. The service is good with very friendly staff willing to assist you in your selection The space inside is the same size as the original restaurant on La Palma and State College. I still like to pick the family dinned with two chickens. What the new owners don't tell is the specials available at a marked down price. Always come in and request the specials. read more

King Pollo was my spot to go when I was working at the 7eleven off state college because they were right next to it and it was very convenient for me to head over during my lunch break. The staff has always been friendly but now that they are under new management nothing has changed. Which I knew the new management before they took over the place. Still great service and the food is one of the best parts as well. My go to place since 2013. Their teriyaki chicken oh man it's really good, served with white rice and salad on the side. This plate is a good serving size plate nothing small. Definitely recommend them, they also do catering. So check them out! Not only do they give you quality service, remember you're supporting a family owned local business, nothing better than supporting our local businesses. I've tried this place a few times now but have never deviated from the half a chicken combo but today decided to try their teriyaki bowl and it was quiet tasty. I would go as far as to say it rivals the local WaBa / Flame Broiler. The chicken and beef are both seasoned well and have good texture. Rice is sticky and sauce isn't over done. While I still love their chicken combo, I can definitely see adding this in to the rotation of lunch choices. read more

This review is mainly for their Chicken Teriyaki Plate. BOMB DOT COM. Wow. Their Chicken Teriyaki Plate is so good and huge! AND it only costs about $8! That's pretty awesome. It comes with rice, chicken teriyaki, and mixed salad. My boyfriend and I always order this dish when we're craving and it's enough to feed both of us! It comes with extra teriyaki sauce and a side of ranch for the salad. Something about the ranch makes it so damn good. I end up using the ranch and the teriyaki sauce for the whole dish and not just the salad cause why not. Ranch goes so well with chicken :) I've order the rotisserie chicken before and it's good but if you're looking for something cheap, great portion size, and delicious...I'd say go with their Chicken Teriyaki Plate. Almost Enough for 2 ppl! Ultimate bang for your buck. I replace the ranch with thousand island which is delicious I think it's made in house and I also love to go to their little salsa bar where they have the most spiciest burn your taste buds but most delicious little salsa as well as other peppers. Although I get the chicken teriyaki this place is known for the rotisserie chicken and I believe some days they run a special if you buy two you get a third one for free amazing!. Reasonably priced and relatively healthy family meals! This place is similar to a more famous pollo shop, except the sides here aren't quite as good and their chicken is a bit more dry. Nonetheless, you get a good amount of food per order, including a rotisserie chicken, warm tortillas, salsa and potato salad. The potato salad is surprisingly good and unique, as they put carrots and olives in there - and thankfully, they don't use a lot of mayo. Don't forget to ask for jalapeños and limes! Overall, this place is a great value and tastes pretty good, but I do wish they would offer Mexican rice instead of just plain white rice as one of their sides. Their chicken avocado salad is my favorite thing to order when I want something healthy and delicious. It's a lot of food too, so you won't be hungry again in an hour. They take a rotisserie chicken and chop up a good amount before putting it on top of a huge pile of romaine lettuce, tomato slices, some carrot slices, and a generous amount of avocado. I went to the bathroom and came back and trusted she packed everything I ordered. I didn't get the tortillas. I was the only customer there. For 14.99, I got the mini pack which was a whole chicken, beans, rice, potato salad, tortillas, and salsa... and it's not just two puny tortillas per person like Pollo Loco, but I think it's a dozen per order. The chicken is small, but with the sides it filled us up for dinner. I really liked the potato salad, even though I'm not a fan of olives. It was creamy, and not overly full mayonnaise. I'm extremely sickened by this place. I go to pick up 2 chicken plates, 1 for me, 1 for my son. Half way thru my plate is a buried white plastic fork. I quickly called 2 speak 2 the manager or the owner, who were not available. The gentleman I spoke to says, they always add forks in their plates. I said, buried in the food? This is absolutely one of my favorite go to for a quick dinner. I prefer it over El Pollo Loco or KFC any day. I usually order the family pack because it could feed all of us...my parents, myself, and my son. That's even with leftovers too. The family pack comes with two whole chickens, large rice, large beans, large salsa, and your choice of tortillas. I always get flour tortillas. The chicken has a great taste and the rice and beans are a favorite of mine. We keep coming back for more. What's funny is that we haven't tried anything else from the menu. We catered from King Pollo for our rehearsal dinner and we're so happy that we did. We ordered Combo #1 and Combo #3 and it was enough for 50 people. With the rotisserie chicken, it came with sides of potato salad, rice, tortillas, and salsa. Instead of a side of beans, we asked for green salad instead. The salad was very fresh and King Pollo provided us with plenty of ranch dressing in small containers. We also got chicken teriyaki and it was very good. All our family and wedding helpers were well-fed that night and we had enough to take to the hotel for the wedding party to eat the next day for lunch!
