Pizza Pal is not exactly about to throw their hat into the Wooster Street ring, but my experience…read morestill earns them some credit. I'm just not a big fan of thicker crust pizza. Though usually it's because the final product is a giant slice of dense bread with a smattering of cheese and sauce. Ugh... drives me nuts. But applaud Pizza Pal for at least getting their proportions right. They put a LOT of cheese on their pies here, enough to generally warrant the thicker-than-average crust below it. That said, I wish the crust was a little less dense, and the cheese less burnt [Burnt crust is good, cheese... not so much], but they're still a thumbs up in my book. I strolled in a solid 90 minutes after they ordinarily stop serving slices (3PM), but they happened to have 2 left, which were warmed up and served promptly to me. $6 and change for two hefty slices and a Snapple. A good lunch, especially for poverty-laden New Britain.

The pizza was firm enough to hold without everything sliding off the top and it had a nice crisp to the crust. The pricing was reasonable for the gluten free option at $2 more per pie. The girls working were quick, attentive, friendly, and authentic. Everyone working was very nice and they had the place running very smoothly for a packed booth night. Although the place itself is small the restaurant itself was big on vibes, very welcoming, warm, a very home town feel. Overall I'd come back here for the pizza. It's nice to have a place in town who does a great gluten free crust in different size options. S, M, and L. The flavor of the cheeses and toppings tasted fresh and blended well together. My wife had the eggplant parm 12" grinder and I had the sausage parm 12" grinder. From the first bite to the last we both enjoyed our grinders. My wife said she had 4 big pieces of eggplant and plenty of red and green peppers. The flavor was very good. My sausage was stuffed and overflowing with sausage and peppers. I really enjoyed this grinder. Who knew that I have such a great choice for grinders right around the corner! On a side note, I caught a glimpse of the thick pizza. It looks just like the pizza my grandmother used to make. I can't wait to try some of that. Sorry no pictures, we were too hungry and with the smell of these two grinders filling the truck, it's amazing that they made it home.
